This document provides an introduction to a study on how metacognitive strategies and audience awareness influence the writing process of undergraduate students at UiTM Pasir Gudang. It discusses relevant background literature on writing processes, metacognitive strategies, and audience awareness. The study aims to determine students' writing behaviors, use of metacognitive strategies, and consideration of audience during their writing. It poses three research questions related to these areas and how they influence the writing process. Key terms are also operationally defined.
