QUESTION TWO
How does your media product represent particular
social groups?
 Emily is a dominant ideology because she is
a stereotypical pop star that young girls look up to
and want to be like. She is represented as a 'girly
girl' this is reinforced by the colours throughout the
magazines of baby pink, bright pink and purple.
 the pictures also reinforce the dominant ideology
and that pink is for girls. this is shown where
‘Emma-Lee’ is in her pink bedroom with her pink
covers on her bed and her pink beanie bag. also
Emma lee is smiling in all of her photos this gives
an underlying message representing that being a
girly girl is a good thing and some thing
    you should aspire to.
 The title for my magazine connotes children
because the name ‘Bubblegum' which is a sweet
and is usually associated with kids. The stories
featured in my magazine connote that the reader
just want to know the gossip of that week, and
    about the celebrities they idolise.
 My font I have used for the double page spread is a
serif font but a large font, this challenges
the dominant ideologies as the serif font is usually
associated with newspaper which demand a level
of intelligence from the reader, for this reason that I
think that young girls who enjoy reading but also
enjoy gossip and music would read the magazine
because it makes the reader feel like they are
    reading a smart magazine.
