The student has learned several photography and design skills over the course of their college magazine project. They have improved at taking photos from different angles and with varied equipment. Composition skills like applying the rule of thirds and ensuring symmetry have also improved. Photoshop editing abilities have developed from basic placement and lighting adjustments to more advanced cropping, text formatting, and photo manipulation. Overall knowledge of design, layout, and creating a professional look has increased.

you have learnt in the progression
from it to the full product?

2. • Looking back at my preliminary task, I feel like
I have progressed in terms of digital
photographs I have been able to get more
photos at different angles and using different
camera throughout the other tasks.

3. • I feel like I have been able to learn more about
the rule of thirds and how to make sure I take
an image that will fit in to that and how to
make sure my image is symmetrical. This has
helped me set out my images better for a
magazine.

I've also worked on my

high key lighting will fit my
magazine better and I’ve
learnt how best to get that.

4. • My use of Photoshop has developed from the start of the
year as I could hardly use it and I would just place and
image lighten it up and add some text but now I know how
to edit the photo a little bit better and how to crop thing
out and I can edit the text little better and how I can make
it stand out more.
• Also I have learnt little tricks through Photoshop that can
help me out and help me improve. My knowledge of photo
manipulation has improved as I know what looks best and
how do it better.
• My knowledge of design and layout has improved as I know
how to layout things better and what looks good and
professional and same with design.
