The document discusses the equipment and software used to create a film opening, including:
- A digital HD camera on a tripod was used to record steady footage and adjust shot types.
- Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects software were used to edit footage, add transitions, create animations, and synchronize audio.
- Additional sounds were recorded to ensure clear audio if camera microphone audio was insufficient or had interference.
- A storyboard was followed to ensure all needed footage was captured and stay on schedule.
The process helped improve skills in using equipment, understanding editing software, creating graphics, and assembling footage into a coherent narrative.
Hello Friends, today in this blog our focus will be on the Stop Motion Software.
As we all know that Stop Motion is an animation technique to bring static objects to life on screen.
In case of Stop Motion; animators move objects or puppets frame by frame and then capture that movement via camera.
Evaluation Question 6 and 7)
6) What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?
7) Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to the full product?

Explaining the AQHA Leveling Process - by Regina KerninLaura Hatch
The AQHA Leveling Program went into effect Jan 1, 2013 to try and Level the showing experience. The aim of the program is to level the playing field, with the overall goal being to get more new people involved in showing their American Quarter Horses and drive the showing market in a strong direction.

2. We used a HD digital camera on a tri-pod to create steadiness.
We were able to adjust the tri-pod to a height and angle that would create various shot types which
was very useful in making our film look more professional.
The HD camera was easy to use. The advantages of using this digital camera was that we could shoot
continuously and then cut it up on the software or we could press stop after every attempt to automatically
get the footage into scenes. A very useful feature of this camera was the screen which could rotate 180o
so we could look at the positioning of a shot with both me and partner in it.
The disadvantage of this camera is the microphone. It picks up a lot of background noise and the
sound of the tripod when panning or tilting. But by putting the footage onto the software we were able to
reduce the noise problems.
My knowledge of using these pieces of equipment has improved by knowing how to position a
camera on a tripod in a suitable relevant manner.
3. Adobe Premiere Pro and Abode After Effects.
Using a Dell computer with these programmes I was able to edit my
footage and make animations. Adobe Premiere Pro is a timeline based
video editor which allowed me to adjust clips to a certain length, cut
clips in half to make cutaways, change lighting levels, unlink audio and
add in video transitions. Once knowing the basics of this software
made it possible to put my footage together in a way I wanted it to be.
I am now able to edit footage efficiently from using this software.
Adobe After Effects a software that is usually used in post production
to create effects that couldn’t be done in filming.
On Adobe After Effects, we made a production company animation and
a title animation. This software is more complicated but with some
help, we were able to understand the basics to get what we needed.

4. We decided to record the sounds of our actions for our
opening sequence in case the sound recorded from the
camera wasn’t loud enough for when we put music over it.
We also want our sounds to be clear and synchronous
as it will be more effective for our opening sequence.
Once recorded, these sounds were put into the
software logic ready to be synced (if needed) to the
footage recorded.
In the end, we only used one recorded sound
which was the vibration of the mobile phone
because on the camera microphone it was too
quiet and it had some interference.
Recording these sounds helped me learn that
I don’t have to record the parallel sound to
the action but make sounds similar using
different objects to create a similar sound.
5. We worked to our story board to get the footage we needed.
This was useful because it helped us learn to keep on track with what
we were filming and it also kept us on track with time too.
As you can see from these shots, the real footage is as close to the story
board as possible.
6. I have learnt several things over the course of making the film opening. From the basics of setting up a tripod and working a
camera to editing footage in a software I’ve never used before. The hardest thing was understanding the software because its
tools and effects are so precise. The other thing that was difficult was making the animations because I’ve never known how
to go about making graphics from scratch. But now I am familiar with these softwares, I am able to use it more confidently.
From using the camera on the tripod I have learnt that it is easier to create stable shots that look professional rather than
trying to maintain a stable balance when using it handheld. Also I was able to discover how to create my music to the footage
in Logic which was very useful in making the music the right length and in synchronisation with the footage.
The main thing I have learnt from using the technology is putting together footage in a certain sequence that makes sense to
an audience.
