How useful was the initial
screening feedback?
• After analysing the initial screening feedback it
was clear that we needed more transitions and
effects as we were only rated ‘basic’ on some of
the feedback forms.
• Also, our teacher asked us to go out and re-film
our best shots in the wood and since doing this we
have received some positive feedback and the video
looks more professional.
• The students in the class didn’t think that the
meaning was apparent to the viewer so since this
we planned an effective narrative scene which was
filmed in a graveyard so the storyline is clearer.

How useful was the second
screening feedback?
• The second screening feedback was the most important as it
gave us final tweaks to secure a high grade.
• We used Ashley’s feedback to alter the titles at the end and
make sure they were all central and aligned.
• We used Spencer’s feedback to alter the fade transitions in
many areas of the music video to make it look smoother. For
example, we added a fade transition on the fire engine
overlay image as it was too sharp and needed to look
smoother.
• We used our teachers feedback to extend or delete overlaying
images as he felt they were too quick or un-necessary.
• Overall, this feedback has been useful as it made us look in
depth for any little errors that needed to be corrected. Due
to the fact that we took everyone’s feedback on board we
didn’t receive any negative feedback for our final video.
Final Music Video And Conclusion
Of The Usefulness Of Feedback
• Our aims were to create a music video in the
sub genre ‘Pop-acoustic’, targeting a 16-21
audience in the B1,C1/C2 demographics. To do
this effectively we aimed to use certain
techniques and conventions and our target
audience responded positively to this with a
few tweaks that needed to be made along the
way. None of these alterations were major which
confirms that we were successfully using the
right conventions and mise en scene to meet the
audiences needs. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=15YrIQri8pw
The process of our digipack and advertisement began with a photoshoot taken indoors. We felt this was necessary
as the white backdrop, lighting and framing gave a crisp, professional finish. We narrowed down our favourite
shots and began to edit them on Photoshop.
We decided on an orange theme due to the bright florescent colour, the link to our title ‘Fire’, and warm
connotations. Also, Ed Sheeran, the artist of our lyrics, uses continuity through an orange colour tone in his
pieces.
A
B
C D
To gain quick, accessible and productive feedback from our
fellow media students, we did a vote of hands, for option A,
B, C or D. These four images were options for our album
advertisement.
C D
The vote was equal between C and D, so we chose option D, as
a single image of Capriella seemed more suitable. Album
adverts we have researched only used a single image, so we
wished to keep with the convention.
