6. What have you learnt about
technologies from the process of
   constructing this product?
Research
• Technology helped me
  carry out my research, the
  internet helped me find
  existing magazines. I used
  this to look at magazine
  conventions to make my
  project look professional.
Planning
• During the planning, technology helped me with
various things. File converters helped me convert
images so that I was able to use them in certain
formats. For example I converted a psd file into a jpg.
• I also used scanners, scanners enabled me to upload
  drawn plans onto the blog.
Production
• The production stage was where technology was most useful.
• Cameras- I used a Nikon D60 to take my photographs. This gave me high quality photos to use in my
magazine to effect the audience. The camera had a number of settings which were effective. For
example the portrait mode blurred out the background and brought the model into focus.
• Lights- Some of my images were taken in a photography studio, this meant I had use of lighting to
    create a more effective photo.
• Photoshop- Photoshop was very effective when designing the front cover. It was suitable to create
colour pallets for my text colour and edit images. It was also simple and created a very effective
    front cover.
• Indesign- This was the program used when designing the contents page and double page spread. It
is effective for aligning text and placing images on a page. It was also useful for creating graphics to
    make the page more attractive.
Video Camera
• I used a video camera to film a member of my
target audience’s reaction. This makes my
evaluation more exciting than just writing a lot
  of text.
Blogging
• Blogging is a very effective and easy way to lay
out my work. Blogger is where all my work is
  presented.
