construction, research, planning and
evaluation stages?

2. When starting the research of our documentary
we had to use the internet to analysis and compare
to other documentaries so we got a real feel for
what it was that we were going to be doing, we also used the
internet so we could look for different areas in the varied topics
we were looking at setting our documentary on, We also used
Microsoft word and excel which was to write all of our information down and create the
questionnaires for the audience, we used excel to create graphs for the results
of our questionnaires so that the feedback was more clearer in a graph form.

3. For the construction of our documentary we had to use various different
equipment and software to make the documentary realistic and professionally
created. We had to use a DV camera, a tripod and microphones, these things
were mostly used in the interviews of our documentary and also used for some
of the cut a ways and stock footage, We also used this equipment to film our
vox pops and our opening titles, using some of this equipment became tricky at
time because if a mistake was made without us realising like forgetting to turn
the microphone on, or pressing record on the video camera the whole
interview would have to be refilmed.

4. We used a digital still camera quite frequently throughout the
production of our documentary for many different
reasons, mostly the digital still was used to capture us filmed
things to show the production of what we was doing behind
the video camera we also used a digital still camera to take
stills of when we was editing the documentary to show the
different roles we had to do within our group.

5. The main software package we used on editing our documentary was Adobe
premier, we had to learn how to do basic cutting on this software but the our skills
became more advanced as time passed by of us using the software, we become more
familiar with its features and we could improve our documentary slightly on different
aspects of it, for instance instead of a simple jump cut we would insert a fade to made
the audience more interested and entertained. We also used Adobe premier to
create the radio trailer for our documentary which was quite simple at this point as
we were quite confident on how to use the software and what we were doing.

6. Photoshop was used for the print advert of our documentary
it was a fairly simple process as our class are very familiar
with Photoshop so it wasn’t that difficult to navigate and
create using the software

7. We used our schools radio studio to record the
voice over for our documentary and the
voiceover for our radio trailer, as we have
always had the radio studio in our school we
have a basic ideo of how to use the equipment
and software within the studio so it didn’t
really take that long to record the voiceovers
as it was a straight forward process.
