Our media trailer uses some common conventions of real trailers such as opening credits, transitions between words to build tension, and slow motion effects to create suspense. However, it also challenges conventions in some ways. It uses sci-fi effects throughout rather than just in some parts. Additionally, it starts with a black and white background instead of a typical news background, and features ordinary-looking characters rather than stereotypical horror characters, to make the trailer seem more realistic and leave viewers questioning.

2. In what way does our trailer use forms and conventions
of real media products?
We have used opening credits which are similar to the
ones in real trailers. We did this because it is a good
start to the film trailer and is effective.

as it has the natural look to it.

We have been influenced by other trailers as we have used
transitions of words throughout trailer to create tension and
prepares audience for what’s about to come.

We have used slow motion when the mobile phone
drops to the floor. I think many horror trailers use this
effect because it creates suspense and catches the
audiences attention.

We have used spooky music to create a horror ambience
and vibe.
This music has a very spooky ambience to
it it creates suspension for the watcher. it
fits in really well with our trailer and i

youtube. Also we did this to appeal to a
wide range of people and catch their
attention.

conventions of real media products?
We have used sci-fi effects throughout our film trailer
and this is unusual because no other film has used it all
the way through. We used this because we wanted to
create a spooky atmosphere the whole way through the
trailer and to help it seem more realistic.

conventions of real media products?
We have used black and white background at the start
of our trailer instead of using the typical news
background. We wanted it to be a bit different rather
than following stereotypical conventions of real media
products. Not many trailers use this as they want the
storyline to be obvious to the reader whereas we wanted
it to get the audience thinking and leave them to watch
the film to find out.

conventions of real media products?
The characters who appear in the trailer are not the
stereotypical people who would appear in a horror
trailer because they look innocent. We wanted to take a
different approach on horror trailers by using more
ordinary people as we thought this would make the
overall trailer seem more realistic rather than following
real trailers with there usual characters.
