4. Earthwork
Earthwork is the process that involving
excavate, transported and compacted the
surface of the earth at another location.
Earthwork mainly carried out at earlier stage of
construction. It is use in foundation during
building construction. In earthwork we use
labor and different types of heavy equipment
like excavators, bulldozers.

5. BRICK FLAT
SOLING
Brick flat soling (BFS) is done to
make the concrete bed smooth. The
laying of bricks on top of the earth
or sand bed is brick flat soling.
Brick flat soling is normally applied
to foundation and ground level.
Materials of brick flat soling: brick,
mortar (cement, sand, water). Brick
flat soling is used in building
foundations and floors.
6. CEMENT CONCRETE
Cement concrete, in construction, structural
material consisting of a hard, chemically
inert particulate substance, known as
aggregate (usually sand and gravel), that is
bonded together by cement and water.
Materials of cement concrete: cement, sand,
water. It used in brick masonry, plastering, cc
foundation.

7. RCC
Reinforced Cement Concrete is a combination
of concrete and steel to build a structure
instead of using only concrete. RCC means
which is plain cement concrete
mixture of cement, sand &
aggregate is reinforced with steel bars.
The main structural members of the building,
slabs, beams, columns and foundations are
made up of reinforced cement concrete.

8. DPC
A damp-proof course (DPC)
is a barrier through the
structure designed to
prevent moisture rising by
capillary action. damp proof
course (DPC) is generally
applied at basement levels,
which restricts the
movement of moisture
through walls and floors.
9. Floor Finish
A floor finish is a general term for a permanent covering of a floor. It is
expected to protect and extend the life of the floor while providing an attractive
appearance and slip resistant surface.
Types of floor finish:
Terrazzo Flooring
Stone Flooring
Timber Flooring
Brick Flooring
PCC Flooring
PVC Flooring
ingredients: There are five basic categories of
floor finish ingredients.
Polymer emulsions
Film formers
Modifiers
Preservatives
Water
10. Parapet wall
A parapet wall is a low wall built along the edge of the roof, walkway, balcony
etc. Parapet walls play an important factor in the safety of the occupants. It
ensures the safety of the occupants using the roof. It helps to improve the
appearance of the buildings. Parapet walls can be constructed using different
materials like reinforced cement concrete, steel, aluminum, glass etc.
Types Of Parapet Wall:
Plain Parapet Walls
Perforated Parapet Walls
Embattled Parapet Walls
Paneled Parapet Walls
11. Drop Wall
Provided in the verandah projected
downward from the slab to prevent the
entry of sunshine or rain water. Drop
Wall are mainly used for retaining
walls, heavy foundations, combined
retaining wall and foundation. Used
materials: Brick, cement, sand, water.

12. Sunshade
A sunshades is an
architectural feature
of a building that
reduces heat gain by
deflecting sunlight. It
is use in top of
windows during
building construction.
Used materials:
cement, sand, water.
13. Plastering
Plastering is the process of
covering rough walls and uneven
surfaces in the construction of
houses and other structures with a
plastic material, called plaster,
which is a mixture of lime or
cement concrete and sand along
with the required quantity of water.

14. Cornice
A ceiling cornice is typically a molding
that can be decorative or plain. It serves
an aesthetic as well as a functional
purpose in both residential and
commercial buildings.it provided to
protect the wall face or to ornament and
finish the eaves.

15. Stair
Stairs are a series of steps properly arranged to
connect different floors of a building. The basic
components of a staircase are the tread, the
horizontal surface we walk on; the riser, the
vertical part between each tread. Using the stairs
to get from one floor to another. The materials
used to make the stairs are reinforcement,
cement, sand and water.

16. Skirting
Skirting is a strip (Maximum
10 inch height) covering the
lowest part of an interior wall.
Its purpose is to cover the
joint between the wall surface
and the floor. Generally we
use Tiles, Wood as a skirting.
