2. I wanted to carry out qualitative research on around 4-6 people to get feedback on the
first draft of our trailer. To do this I came up with 6 questions that I thought with give
me the most information back which I could then use to help me improve my trailer of
which are listed below:
1. Did you understand what was going on in the trailer, if not what didn’t you
understand?
2. Do you think that the music fitted with the trailer?
3. What genre of film do you think this is a trailer for?
4. What did you think of the shots used within the trailer?
5. What did you like most about the trailer?
6. What did you dislike most about the trailer?
7. Would you want to go and watch the film after watching this trailer?

1. Did you understand what was going on in the trailer, if not what didn’t you understand?
a. No, I found it a bit confusing, I thought the blond haired guy was the husband at first, then realised who he was but
there was no shots of the husband at all in the trailer

a. Very good, I particularly liked the way the poker evening was shot and narrated

a. Not entirely, I wasn’t too sure if it was about someone trying to kill someone or them already being dead.
2. Do you think that the music fitted with the trailer?
a. I think the music fitted well.

a. A murder/ detective based film
4. What did you think of the shots used within the trailer?
a. I like a lot of the shots, apart from the one where it cuts off the woman's face.
5. What did you like most about the trailer?
a. I liked the use of voice over as it added to the effect.

a. That it was hard to understand.

a. Mostly, the only thing I was confused about was why the man was walking around stressed.

a. I liked the poker scene as it looked really realistic and professional

a. Not all the time, some parts I was a bit lost as it was quite fast paced.

a. They were good and suited the trailer
5. What did you like most about the trailer?
a. I liked the way it had been put together

a. I didn’t really like a couple of shots that were a bit blurry.

8. Evaluation on Feedback Received
I think that this feedback was quite varied with a lot of constructive feedback which
will be very useful. It is clear that the narrative needs to be clearer which can be done
through the use of more voiceover and adding more shots to make it more
straightforward and easy to understand. I think this is the main thing that we need to
improve and from now on this will be our key focus in improving our essay.
