1. Question 6...
What Have You Learnt
About Technologies From
The Process Of Constructing
This Product?
2. The technical parts of my production include using a digital
SLR camera, the studio lights, professional computer
software, scanners and printers.
3. How Does This New Technology Help?
• This new technology allows me to create a professional image with
text and other images merged into it.
• If I was doing it by hand, I would cut the different images I've used
and stick them onto the background paper.
• Digitally, it's more useful than that. Photoshop and Quark Express
allow me to quot;undoquot; mistakes that I make, if I cut the picture wrong
with my scissors I wouldn't be able to go back in time and re-cut it.
• There is room for you to make mistakes, and yet you can essentially
go back in time and undo them to create a perfect picture.
• Also, you can alter the image, like desaturating, cropping, rotating...
even change the colour to a completely different one. Features like
this make alteration very easy.
4. What I Have Learnt Whilst Using These
Technologies
• A big feature I learned to do was on Photoshop, this was how to lay the
image of Amber’s head onto the title “BOOM” instead of it being behind
it. I used the magnetic lasso tool to carefully trace around her head and
then cut and copy it onto the background of my front page as a new layer
on top of it. The magnetic lasso was so easy to use.

5. • Because these effective results can be achieved with little
effort thanks to the development in such technologies, it is
easy to say that even an amateur is able to produce
reasonably professional material.
• However, there are many techniques used in real media
products that could be harder to achieve if you are an
amateur. For example, the specific editing for this photo.
The back has been

Skin has been

spots, moles and

6. Useful Technologies On The Internet
• The actual blog itself is a very useful technology. This, as
an electronic way of recording my progress also helped
me plan and stick to my schedule and present my work
in a clear way.
• You can edit posts, which makes it easier to make sure I
haven’t made any mistakes or missed out any vital
information.
7. • Google was a great help during my research.
You can search for anything, which meant it
was easy for me to get hold of useful images
and information about the hip-hop magazines
that I was analysing. In turn, this made it easy
for me to create my own ideas.
8. They Have Even Helped With This
Evaluation!
• I have used a range of programs to construct a lively evaluation.
For this entry for example, I used Microsoft Powerpoint to
actually create the slideshow and then used the website
www.slideshare.com to upload it into my blog.
• Another website which proved to be useful is www.youtube.com.
I have used Youtube during my evaluation to upload videos of my
audience responses as opposed to just writing down their
responses. This is useful because it shows how they reacted, and
creates an interaction in my evaluation.
