The paper discusses the enhancement of bandwidth in a rhombus-shaped microstrip patch antenna by incorporating a U-shaped slot, achieving resonant frequencies at 5.20 GHz and 5.58 GHz. This design demonstrates a significant improvement in impedance bandwidth to 22.32%, which is notably higher than the conventional rectangular and rhombus-shaped microstrip antennas. The proposed antenna is deemed suitable for WiMAX applications, offering good impedance matching around 50 ohms.
