2. HOW DID YOU ATTRACT YOUR AUDIENCE?
• In terms of artists, I have main it my aim to attract the audience, for example I have used images of
females in their late teens to attract an audience of 16-25 years old as the social groups can relate to
each other, for example I wouldn’t have put an artist on the cover which was much older as the readers
would not be able to relate to the image as much as they could with someone their age.
3. • Gender
• My magazine is aimed primarily at females but could also
target males that like the same music ans artist. The cover star
I have used is female and has been made to look glamourous
and fun to target a teenage and young adult audience that
inspire to be like the artist on the font of the cover.
• Age
• the target audience for my magazine is mainly aimed at
teenagers and young adults from the ages of 16-25. The cover
star is within this age range and therefore the readers can
relate to this artist and aspire to be like her.
• Genre
• The genre of magazine I have decided to make is ‘pop’ this is
portrayed through the mainstream style of this artist and the
popular style that is current in at this time also portrayed
through the secondary artists in the magazine. The colours are
also very bright and bold and the artist is posing in a very fun
and interesting way which highlights how pop music is
represented.

4. • Colour
• The use of pink stands out and contracts with the grey scale image.
The shadow added to the text added a 3D effect and gives the
magazine a sense of realism. It also catches the attention of the
readers and draws them into buying the magazine.
• Extra artists
• The use of extra artists shown on either side of the magazine
widens the amount of readers that would be interested n this
magazine. Because if they don’t like the cover star there are other
features they can look at that they may be interested in.
• Main feature
• The main storyline stands out on the page because I have added a
shadow effect which makes the text stand out in front of the grey
scale image. It is also located at the bottom of the magazine in a
larger text than the rest of the features to stand out to the readers
as soon as they look at the magazine.
5. I have used the word “new” in one of my
features as I felt this would make the sub
artists look current and new to the industry,
it makes the audience interested in who
these people are and the fact I have used
“tells all” emphasized that there is big news
and gossip however I have not given too
much away which therefore persuades them
to read the whole article which is located
inside the magazine. For my other feature I
have used the words “ thanks her fans” this
shows how Courtney the sub artist
appreciates her fans and therefore fans feel
obliged to read the article as it has clearly
been written for them and only them making
them feel special and included.
This masthead stands out because it is in a bright colour and used
capital letters so add importance.
The word “wow” draws the reader in because there is nothing in
the market like or as big as this making the magazine seem new
and exciting drawing the readers attention. With this being
located over the top of the of the main image is catches the
reader’s attention very easily and allow the readers to see it as
soon as they look at this magazine. It is also located on the left
hand side of the magazine so if it was stacked in shops this word
would still be seen. This is also the only white text on the front
cover and therefore stands out above the rest of the text.
The words “hottest” and “sensation” draws the audience in
because it makes the artist look special and intriguing. It also
makes her seem like a popular artist which all pop genre lovers
will listen too. As she is current and on trend. It is also located at
the bottom of the magazine in a bold text so that it catches the
reader’s attention.
6. Using pictures emphasizes the main articles and
draws the readers in making then interested in the
articles and what they may be about. It also helps to
get an idea of what else the features may include.
The heading is in the same colour as I have used on the front cover
this makes each page of the magazine similar in some way keeping
the same style throughout. I have placed the heading over a black
background as I felt this would make it stand out more and create a
contrast in colours from light to dark.
The bold white colour used on the main feature makes it stand out
from the page and draws the reader into looking at it more than the
rest of the features, it creates importance and encourages the readers
to go to this particular page.
7. The pink text establishes to the readers
what is the question and what is the
answer from the Q&A it also highlights
each question asked so that no question
is missed by the reader. It helps them
easily locate each different question so
that readers can quickly read the page.
The use of three different colours and large
speech marks helps to make the pull quote stand
out and give the readers an insight into what else
is included in the article.
The use of the extra image lets the
reader see what the artist is wearing
which allows them to copy her style.
It also makes the page look more
interesting and colourful.
8. • My magazine has a respective colour scheme consisting of black, purple, pink and white.
• The Pink and purple colour are quite feminine so it connotes my target audience which is why I have kept it consistent
throughout. The white and black also create a sophisticated tone so it will not just catch the attention of teenagers but
young adults as well.
