Female Male
Are you Female or Male?
I asked this question So that I could make sure I had a
split even number of both sexes, This was because the
magazine I have created is aimed at both sexes. This
means the audience feedback will be more fair.
Do you fit into the age range of
16-25?

Yes No
I asked this question, as this age range is the target audience for
my music magazine. This was important that the people
answering the questionnaire was in this age range. As asking
someone younger or older could make the results of the
questionnaire not fair as the magazine is not aimed at that age.
What Genre of music would you
say this music magazine is for?
The reason I asked this question was because I wanted to see how
my final product actually was viewed by my target audience. This
made me see what genre the audience thought the magazine I had
created was. In the end 19 out of 20 got the genre right. This is
quite a success as shows I could produce a magazine which
represents a genre well.

As one of the questions on the evaluation is
„How did you
attract/address your audience? „ I then
chose this question so I could see what actually did attract my audience
the most when looking at my magazine cover. I only said Cover, as in the
shop that‟s the first thing the public would see and be attracted to.
Overall, The cover image got 10 ( the highest) vote. I think this is because
I chose quite a professional photograph. The colours got 6 and Free gift
got 4.

I asked this question as It would make
me aware If the target audience had
the choice, If they would change
anything on the magazine to perhaps
make it more appealing to them or
better in their eyes.
IF YES, WHY? (answers)
“I would make the
Glastonbury photos bigger so
that they stand out more, as
they would appeal to me”
“I would get rid of the yellow
flower thing behind the main
coverline. I just think it looks a
bit tacky and doesn‟t fit in on
the page”
“ I think I would make the
Free CD sign a bit bigger
because It looks cool”

as one of the main

putting a free gift with
my music magazine
was to attract my

This question is important, this is because, If you got the pricing
wrong for a magazine, this could effect your profit and the size of
the audience. In my case, 15/20 said that the price was a
reasonable price to pay, This means that for £2 most people would
purchase my magazine.

I asked this question, Just so I could see if my target
audience saw this magazine in a shop would they tell
their friends about it and create a wider number of
people purchasing the magazine. Positively, all 20
voters said they would recommend my magazine to a
friend. This shows that the magazine looks high
quality.

To finish off my questionnaire I used this question, the whole
Idea of creating this music magazine cover, double page spread
and contents page, was so that It look real enough to be pulled
off as a professional magazine. So I wanted to see if my target
audience thought it did look like one. All 20 said that they
thought my magazine looked like a professional magazine, this
is very positive and good.
Conclusion
Overall I feel like I got a very successful and
useful feedback from my target audience. This
is because I found out what attracted my
audience to the music magazine, If they thought
it looked professional and what they would
change in a mist of other things. These were
good questions as they will help me evaluate my
media product and compare to my Priestley
magazine.
However, one thing looking back on this audience feedback, my
main questions were on the front cover and I didn‟t include
questions on my other pages. This is something that could have
helped. However the reason I didn‟t, was because when going into a
shop you don‟t look through all the pages you look at the front cover
as it is the first thing that is seen and normally the first thing that
makes an impact. Like the front of house of a restaurant. Although I
say this, I still think my questionnaire was reliable and useful and
definitely showed me the public view on it not just my own.
