This document discusses what type of media institution might distribute an independent film. It argues that while the film has a low budget and no famous actors, independent films can still find global audiences and success. It provides examples of the independent films The Revenant and Seven, which both gained popularity among viewers and high reviews on IMDB despite being independent productions. production, one that I drew inspiration from when creating our thriller
opening with the forest scenery and long establishing shots, as well as
the true story behind it.
Despite being an independent production, The Revenant was very
popular among viewers, with regular screenings upon its release
showing high demand

4. Seven (David Fincher) is another independent thriller which gained a
global success due to it’s entrancing plot with an even higher 8.6
IMDB review.
This is another favourite of mine which I drew inspiration from with
the whole idea of a well thought out series of crimes. I also liked the
idea of John Doe (the criminal) having his finger tips shaved off and
bandaged in order to not leave any traces; we incorporated this to our
own antagonists costume.
