1. Q3 What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?
I have done some research on
magazine publishers and I found a
publisher called MusicMags, I
also did some research on IPC
and Bauer, but I found that after
extensive research in the
magazines that they publish, the
types of magazines that they
publish are more of a celebrity
based magazine.
I don’t really want my music
magazine to be based on
celebrities, rather pure and raw
talent, such as new and young
music artists.
The photo to the right is just one of
the magazines that they publish
called Drum. Featuring a very
well known drummer from the
Grunge band Pearl Jam, I think
that this would be suitable as the style of music magazine is the same, it is in the
genre of rock that I would hope for my magazine to be classed in,
This is a well known record shop in
Liverpool called Probe Records, I
think this would be an ideal place to
sell my music magazine. I think
that also other shops across the
UK like this would be ideal.
This shop is home to all types
and genres of music, and also
sells music books, records, tapes
and music magazines.
I have actually been there before
and I have seen the type of
people that go there and I think
that the customers that go there
are the very type of audience that I
would aim my music magazine
at, because I also saw a big
mixture of ages and genders
varying from about 14- 60 years of age.
