In what ways does your media product use, develop and challenge forms and conventions of real media products?
Research in comparison with my music video ,[object Object],When looking at my chosen music video director choice and the way he made his videos effected, I considered the themes and motifs, then seeing how I could incorporate a similar approach in my video to create the desired effect. I especially like how Marc Webb uses landscapes and big open spaces and decided to integrate this into my own music video.
Other media products and inspiration: The main reason for me wanting to produce a stop-motion video, other than to challenge myself, was because of already being a fan of the work Angela and Ithyle. My favourite being the video for Lost Things (Sleepwaking by A Fine Frenzy). Stop motion animation is becoming more and more popular in the media today, now being used in adverts for Amazon Kindle and eBay. I wanted to make something which is quite new to audiences and will hopefully progress and develop in the future.  Stop motion is also likely to intrigue the audience because they may not realise, at first, the video is made wholly from photographs and the scenes which seem impossible (photographs up the body, scarf putting on itself) will interest them, making them want to carry on watching.
Andrew Goodwin’s music video criteria ,[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],However, I didn’t include intertextual references, this was on purpose so that the video didn’t portray any clues as to where the artist/actor was and what year it was. To add to the feeling of being confused throughout the video.

Also challenges forms and conventions of real media products in the way the artist doesn’t lip sync to the song... I did this because I wanted to portray the artist as sombre and almost morbid so that the visuals correlated with the lyrics of the song. This isn’t usually the case in many popular music videos. According to MTV, this weeks top music videos are ‘Don’t hold your breathe’ by Nicole Scherzinger, ‘Just can’t get enough’ by Black Eyed Peas and ‘Someone like you’ by Adele; all of which include lip syncing as their main feature. I wanted my music video to be more meaningful, analytical and symbolic so that the audience is intrigued to watch more.
