Desert peach is a woody shrub native to the western United States. It blooms in spring with pink flowers and produces edible peaches. It is very drought tolerant and grows well in hot, dry conditions without fertilizer or much water once established. Desert peach provides excellent habitat for birds and pollinators due to its cover, fruits, and nectar. It is a sensible substitute for non-native fruit plants in arid gardens.
