Desert Candle is an annual wildflower native to the Mojave Desert and parts of southern California. It has an erect, hollow yellow stem that can grow 1-2 feet tall. Small reddish-purple flowers bloom along the stem in spring. The plant provides pollen and seeds for wildlife. It is drought tolerant once established and thrives in full sun and well-drained soil with little water or fertilizer needed. Desert Candle makes an attractive addition to desert-themed gardens or as a unique specimen plant.
