The art lesson focused on public art, with the objectives of students understanding public art and artists, designing ideas for their own public art works, and considering materials and design. The teacher began with recapping prior work and showing examples of public art. Students then discussed ideas for unique public art designs considering material, location, and meaning. They spent time designing their own concepts. At the end, students shared and provided feedback on their work and what they learned. Differentiation strategies supported EAL, gifted, and SEN students.
