This document summarizes a case study about an individual named Klaus and his experiences related to Abraham Maslow's hierarchy of needs. It describes how Klaus rose from being a beggar to obtaining a job, girlfriend, and material possessions through the help of his boss Vivian. However, over time Klaus began socially loafing at work, exhibiting self-serving bias, and failed to properly persuade his workers. This resulted in his workers complaining to the boss and getting Klaus fired. After losing everything, Klaus experienced upward counterfactual thinking and regretted how his attitude ruined his life.
