 Admiral Muhammad Zakaullah
HI(M), SI(M), TI(M) (born 10 January
1958), is an active four-star rank
admiral and the current Chief of
Naval Staff of the Pakistan Navy
• Promoted to CNS on October 2,2014.

 He started his active duty as a
qualified Principle Warfare officer
(PWO) in Babur warship and was
later promoted as executive officer
of the Tippu-Sultan warship
Royal Navy to Pakistan Navy:
• 14 Aug 1947: Royal Pakistan Navy came in
to Being. Rear Admiral James Wilfred
Jeffords was appointed as first Commander
in Chief of Royal Pakistan Navy. Royal
Pakistan Navy’s share of the ships at the
time of partition comprised 4 sloops, 4
fleet minesweepers, 8 motor
minesweepers and harbor defense
launches.
• 17 Jan 1948: All Ships of Royal Pakistan
Navy (except minesweeper Malwa) left
Bombay for Karachi on their transfer to
Pakistan.

31 Jan 1953: Rear Admiral HMS
Chaudhry became the first Pakistani
Commander in Chief of Royal Pakistan
Navy.
23 Mar 1956: Islamic Republic of
Pakistan was proclaimed under the 1956
Constitution. The prefix `Royal’ was
dropped and the service redesigned as
Pakistan Navy short title “PN”.. The order
of precedence of the three services was
changed from Navy, Army, Air Force to
Army, Navy, Air Force.

Achievement's:
• 08 Sep 1965: Operation “Dwarka” was
extended successfully in which Indian city of
Dwarka was bombarded by PN Ships
Alamgir, Jahangir, Khaibar, Babur, Badr,
Shahjahan and Tippu Sultan.
• 01 Dec 1969: The first of the Daphne type
submarines HANGOR acquired by Pakistan
Navy from France. It was commissioned on
01 December 1969 and arrived in Pakistan on
20th December 1970.
• 12 Jan 1970: PN Submarine SHUSHUK was
commissioned in Pakistan Navy at France.
30 Jan 1970: PN Establishment PESHAWAR
was commissioned in Pakistan Navy.

16 Sep 1970: PNS TAIMUR was commissioned

Admiral Asif Sandila, Chief of the Naval
Staff.
Participation in Wars
War of 1965
Successful bombardment of the
coastal town of Dawaraka.
The Navy's submarine PNS Ghazi was
deployed, Pakistan's first submarine
and remaining the flagship submarine
for Pakistan Navy till deployed against
Indian Navy's western fleet at Bombay
(Mumbai) port .
War of 1971
 On 8 December 1971 the Hangor, a
Pakistani Daphné class submarine, sank
the Indian frigate INS Khukri off the
coast of Gujarat, India.
This was the first sinking of a warship
by a submarine since World War II.
 8 officers and 176 sailors of the
Indian navy were killed in this operation

• The Pakistan Air Force, is the aerial warfare branch of the Pakistan Armed
Forces, primarily tasked with the aerial defence of Pakistan with a
secondary role of providing air support to the Pakistan Army and the
Pakistan Navy.
• Its primary mandate and mission is "to provide, in synergy with other inter-
services, the most efficient, assured and cost effective aerial Defence of
Pakistan." Since its establishment in 1947, the PAF has been involved in
various combat operations, providing aerial support to Inter – Services'
operations and relief efforts.

Air Chief Marshal : Sohail Aman
Air Chief Marshal Sohail Aman (born 1959), NI(M), HI(M),
SI(M), TI(C), is an active four star air officer (air chief marshal)
and the 21st Chief of Air Staff of the Pakistan Air Force. He
took charge from Air Chief Marshal Tahir Rafique Butt on 19
March 2015.

General Qamar Javed Bajwa (COAS)
General Qamar Javed Bajwa HI(M), is the Chief
of Army Staff of the Pakistan Army. Born in
Karachi and belonging to Ghakhar Mandi, Bajwa
was commissioned in 1980 in the Baloch
Regiment. Previously he served at the GHQ as the
Inspector General of the Training and Evaluation
from 2015 to 2016 and as the Corps Commander
X Corps from 2013 to 2015 which is responsible
for the area along the Line of Control. Bajwa also
served as a peacekeeper in the UN mission in
Congo as a brigade commander in 2007.

WOMEN IN PAKISTAN ARMY
 “In 1948, the first lady of Pakistan Begum Ra'ana took the lead in starting the women’s
voluntary service in 1948 to support the medical and logistics for the Pakistan Armed
Forces engage in the Indo-This led the formation of women unit in the Pakistan Army
Corps of Medical; a first attempt was also made in introducing the combat training
program for women but such attempts were dismissed by General Frank Messervy.
 In 1949, the first lady took personal initiatives and established her own Pakistan Army
Women National Guard (WNG) with few combat courses were introduced. The unit's
first GOC and chief controller was Begum Ra'ana, with the rank of a Brigadier
 Another name, Lieutenant Colonel Shahida Akram Bhurgri of Pakistan Army Medical
Corps is also known to be the First Ever Lady Doctor from Sindh to get commissioned
in Pakistan Army. Prior to her, there were no Sindhi Female Doctors in Pakistan Army.

 Major Hercharn Singh (Punjabi:((born 1987) is the first Sikh officer to be
commissioned in the Pakistan Army He was born in Nankana Sahib, Pakistan, which
is also the birthplace of Guru Nanak, the founder of Sikhism.
 He joined the Pakistan Military Academy (PMA) at Kakul, Khyber
Pakhtunkhwa province.
 Hercharn passed out from PMA and was commissioned into the Pakistan Army on 27
October 2007.
 Hercharn had told reporters:
 “It is a matter of great privilege and an honor for me that today I am standing in front
of you in the khaki uniform. I have been given a great responsibility”
GALLANTRY AWARDS
Nishan-i-Haider
 The Nishan-i-Haider ("Order of the Lion") is the Highest'
military award given by Pakistan. Recipients Nishan-i-
Haider recipients receive an honorary title as a sign of
respect: Shaheed meaning martyr for deceased recipients
and Ghazi meaning victor for living recipients. As of Sept
19, 2013, all Nishan-e-Haider awards have thus far been
given to the people engaged in battles with India.

  • 2. INTRODUCTION OF ARMED FORCES The Pakistan Armed Forces, are the military forces of Pakistan. They are the sixth largest in the World in terms of active military personnel and the largest among Muslim countries. The armed forces comprise three main inter–services branches: Army, Navy, and Air Force together with the number of paramilitary forces and the Strategic Plans Division forces.

Admiral Zakaullah  Admiral Muhammad Zakaullah HI(M), SI(M), TI(M) (born 10 January 1958), is an active four-star rank admiral and the current Chief of Naval Staff of the Pakistan Navy • Promoted to CNS on October 2,2014.  Pride of Performance for outstanding performance in yachting  He started his active duty as a qualified Principle Warfare officer (PWO) in Babur warship and was later promoted as executive officer of the Tippu-Sultan warship
  • 9. Royal Navy to Pakistan Navy: • 14 Aug 1947: Royal Pakistan Navy came in to Being. Rear Admiral James Wilfred Jeffords was appointed as first Commander in Chief of Royal Pakistan Navy. Royal Pakistan Navy’s share of the ships at the time of partition comprised 4 sloops, 4 fleet minesweepers, 8 motor minesweepers and harbor defense launches. • 17 Jan 1948: All Ships of Royal Pakistan Navy (except minesweeper Malwa) left Bombay for Karachi on their transfer to Pakistan.

Cont.…. 31 Jan 1953: Rear Admiral HMS Chaudhry became the first Pakistani Commander in Chief of Royal Pakistan Navy. 23 Mar 1956: Islamic Republic of Pakistan was proclaimed under the 1956 Constitution. The prefix `Royal’ was dropped and the service redesigned as Pakistan Navy short title “PN”.. The order of precedence of the three services was changed from Navy, Army, Air Force to Army, Navy, Air Force.

Achievement's: • 08 Sep 1965: Operation “Dwarka” was extended successfully in which Indian city of Dwarka was bombarded by PN Ships Alamgir, Jahangir, Khaibar, Babur, Badr, Shahjahan and Tippu Sultan. • 01 Dec 1969: The first of the Daphne type submarines HANGOR acquired by Pakistan Navy from France. It was commissioned on 01 December 1969 and arrived in Pakistan on 20th December 1970. • 12 Jan 1970: PN Submarine SHUSHUK was commissioned in Pakistan Navy at France. 30 Jan 1970: PN Establishment PESHAWAR was commissioned in Pakistan Navy.

War of 1971  On 8 December 1971 the Hangor, a Pakistani Daphné class submarine, sank the Indian frigate INS Khukri off the coast of Gujarat, India. This was the first sinking of a warship by a submarine since World War II.  8 officers and 176 sailors of the Indian navy were killed in this operation

WOMEN IN PAKISTAN ARMY  “In 1948, the first lady of Pakistan Begum Ra'ana took the lead in starting the women’s voluntary service in 1948 to support the medical and logistics for the Pakistan Armed Forces engage in the Indo-This led the formation of women unit in the Pakistan Army Corps of Medical; a first attempt was also made in introducing the combat training program for women but such attempts were dismissed by General Frank Messervy.  In 1949, the first lady took personal initiatives and established her own Pakistan Army Women National Guard (WNG) with few combat courses were introduced. The unit's first GOC and chief controller was Begum Ra'ana, with the rank of a Brigadier  Another name, Lieutenant Colonel Shahida Akram Bhurgri of Pakistan Army Medical Corps is also known to be the First Ever Lady Doctor from Sindh to get commissioned in Pakistan Army.
