A Symbol Of Pride For A Nation
In 1933, British colonial government of India established
the subcontinent’s first Air Force station near Drig Road,
now called PAF Base Faisal. In 1934, this element of the
Royal Indian Air Force (RIAF) was extended to the north
for operations in NWFP. The RIAF had also contributed to
the defeat of Japanese invasion during World War II.

Muhammad Mahmood Alam (known as "M.M. Alam“
•Born in 6 July 1935 – 18 March 2013) was a Pakistani fighter pilot, North American F-86 Sabre Flying ace
• one-star general who served with the Pakistan Air Force.
• Squadron Leader M M Alam, Commander of No 11 Squadron, was already a notable leader and highly
experienced pilot in 1965, when he was awarded the Sitara-e-Jurat ("The star of courage"),
•Pakistani military decoration, for his actions during the Indo-Pakistani War of 1965.
• In earning his decorations, Alam downed five Indian aircraft in less than a minute — the first four within 30
Seconds
• — establishing a world record.
He also excelled in gunnery competition, a skill that without a doubt contributed greatly to his becoming the first
and the only jet ace in one mission
Rashid Minhas was a Pilot Officer in the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) during the 1971
Pakistan-India War. He sacrificed his life on August 20, 1971 to save the honour of his
beloved Motherland and fail the evil designs of the enemy country. Rashid Minhas
belonged to a famous Minhas clan of Rajput
This act of bravery did not go unnoticed and his commandant gave him a letter of
recognition. Rashid was a brilliant student and a brave soldier and he proved it many
times on and off the battlefield. Minhas was posthumously awarded Pakistan’s top
military honour the Nishan-E-Haider and became the youngest man and the only
member of the Pakistan Air Force to win the award. He also became a national hero

Born in 1959, Air Chief Marshal Sohail Amman received his
intermediate and graduate education at PAF College, Sargodha.
Subsequently, he joined Pakistan Air Force and graduated from
PAF Academy in 1980. After completing Fighter and Operational
Conversion Courses, he flew various types of fighter aircraft on
PAF inventory including F-16s. As a distinguished fighter pilot
and Combat Commander, he also evaluated fifth generation
fighters like Gripen and Euro fighter Typhoon.
 He has commanded a Fighter Squadron, Combat
Commanders’ School, a Fighter Base and Central Air
Command of the Pakistan Air Force. The Air Chief having
vast experience of flying has a grand total of over 3000
fighter hrs to his credit.
Air Chief Marshal Sohail Aman assumed the Command of
the PAF on 19 March, 2015. He is married and blessed with
four Children. In recognition of his meritorious and
exceptionally dedicated services, he has been decorated
with Nishan-i-Imtiaz (Military), Hilal-i-Imtiaz (Military),
Sitara-i-Imtiaz (Military) and Tamgha-i-Imtiaz (Military).
The Joint Fighter-17 (JF-17) Thunder multi-role fighter was jointly
developed by China and Pakistan. Development started in 1999.
These were license-produced locally by Pakistan Aeronautical
Complex. By 2015 Pakistan Air Force operates 60 of these aircraft and
production continues and in 2015 Pakistan made 14 and will made 24
this year in PAC AMF KAMRA. INSHALLAH and Pakistan is going to sell
08 J.F 17 THUNDER to Srilanka this year.
