The kingdom of Morocco has invested heavily in renewable energy sources such as wind, solar, and hydroelectric power. As part of this effort: - Morocco aims to generate 42% of its electricity from renewable sources by 2020 through large wind and solar projects currently underway. This includes 2000MW of wind power and 2000MW of solar power projects. - Major solar projects include the Ouarzazate solar plant and four other solar plants totaling 2000MW set to be completed by 2019. - Training and research institutes have been established to develop the workforce and technologies needed to support the renewable energy sector.
