Plancess is founded by IITians to offer affordable and best in class edusolutions for comprehensive preparation of boards and engineering entrance examinations in India. Innovation is still on to enable a student grab knowledge from different platforms.
Open Colleges is one of Australia's oldest and largest providers of online learning. For over 100 years we have been helping people improve their lives through learning. Being an online education organisation, we depend heavily on technology to provide an engaging learning experience for students and a smarter teaching experience for educators. Having over 60,000 concurrent students, all progressing asynchronously has resulted with every student being unique and having different learning patterns and behaviours. This introduces a variety of challenges for our educators and support staff.
Introducing Machine learning & Artificial intelligence into our business is the practical & efficient approach to deal with these challenges at scale. The use cases range from nurturing prospecting students in their course selection; identifying students in need to intervene proactively; Understanding behaviours to drive motivation and engagement; and analysing learning patters to improve quality of courses and services.
In this presentation we’ll talk about how we have addressed these use cases through leveraging scalable machine learning services and suitable big data ecosystem.

We propose that one of the barriers to OER adoption is the lack of transparency of practitioners’ ‘thinking’ around OERs.Threfore we propose to move from opening up contents and OER to opening people’s thinking about OERs.
Our objective is to make this thinking visible and exportable in a way that support the emergence of collective intelligence around OER. To cater for this we designed Cohere, a prototype socio-technical infrastructure to gather Collective Intelligence around OER.

This is Part 2 of the workshop pair
In these unprecedented times, the face of higher education is rapidly changing, and our learning centers must adapt to find ways to help our students (the privileged and underprivileged) engage effectively with technology. The realities of how we support students and the services we offer them must adapt to the current shifts to online learning in their content courses. We must expand upon existing online services and/or develop new ones. We must also support/train our staff members to manage the new ways in which our learning centers must operate.
Learning centers professionals are going to have to think of ways to deliver services 100% online. We need to think about our staff (students and professionals) and how we train them as well as the ways in which we engage our students who might be struggling with the demands of shifting to new modes of learning.
Part 1 - Identifying Immediate Needs
How we can triage and respond in real time to a rapidly evolving change to our operations?
Part 2 - Planning for the Long-term
How do we reflect, assess, resource for sustainability, and plan for future change?
We all have good and bad thoughts from time to time and situation to situation. We are bombarded daily with spiraling thoughts(both negative and positive) creating all-consuming feel , making us difficult to manage with associated suffering. Good thoughts are like our Mob Signal (Positive thought) amidst noise(negative thought) in the atmosphere. Negative thoughts like noise outweigh positive thoughts. These thoughts often create unwanted confusion, trouble, stress and frustration in our mind as well as chaos in our physical world. Negative thoughts are also known as “distorted thinking”.

2. Getting a job interview for John who is completing his
graduation at West Chester University at the end of this
summer.
Problem Statement
3. Setup a student community to collaborate on job
opportunities, soft-skills, cross training and interview
tips.
IDEA #1 Community for Placement
4. PROTOTYPE #1 Web Portal
Student Community Portal
Students/Graduates
Professors
Lean web portal setup with basic structure to prototype the
effectiveness of student community to help get placed in jobs
5. What worked well? - Facilitates the student
community setup for seeking job interviews, sharing
information and training.
What could be improved? – Integrating community
setup across different regional universities.
Questions? – Who take the responsibility to update
and maintain contents as student graduate and find
jobs?
TEST PROTOTYPE #1
6. University provides students/ graduates with brilliant
ideas to help start their own business.
IDEA #2 University Venture Capital
7. PROTOTYPE #2
University Portal for IDEA Submission
Students/Graduates
Faculty/Advisors
Funding Committee
Lean web portal for student/ student group to submit / review
business ideas. The prototype gauges the interest and help
facilitate reviewing the feasibility of this program with the
University.
8. TEST PROTOTYPE #2
What worked well? - Facilitates the general idea of
how an IDEA submission and review could work in a
community setup.
What could be improved? – The funding could include
other independent venture capitalists and industry.
Questions? – Wouldn’t a community based rating be
largely based popularity and not business viability?
9. Improvement for Prototype #1: Need to define how
the community setup can be sustained as students
graduate and find jobs as an improvement to the
defined solution.
Improvement for Prototype #2: Need to define a way
for IDEA validation and review as it cannot be based
on popularity or this may set a wrong tone.
