This proposal is from the Sammanthurai Youth Association to install 10 tube wells in the village of Sambamadu to provide drinking water. Sambamadu is located in a hilly, rocky area with hard soil, and currently the 140 residents must travel 3 miles to access water. Installing tube wells would provide a sustainable drinking water solution for the 200 families in Sambamadu and reduce health issues among the residents, especially the 78 infants and 140 students who currently suffer from lack of access to water. The project would benefit around 3000 people in the rural area. Community leaders were involved in identifying the need for this project.

hour journey by car from Sammanthurai main area

 Sammbamadu is a hill area situated in the west
corner of sammanthurai
 due to rocky nature of the Surrounding land and
hard soil people suffer from the drinking water.

 The resident of Sammbamadu is hard to find their
day to day expanses most of them are engage
temporary unskilled labor. The community consists of
140 school students and around 78 infants suffers
from the dearth of drinking water

 10 Tube well will suffice the entire 200 families
drinking and other water needs
 The tube wells may locate to every 20 family blocks
where we can reduce the congestion and allow the
public to engage in the sanitation needs .

 The public of the rural area will be benefited. It is
