• His home was one of security
• Filled with great compassion not only for the people
who lived there but for those who were visitors as
well.
• His home was a place of refuge and safety
• But the Prophet’s home was a place of joy and
love.
• Prophet (SAW) home was also a place of civil
conversation and even debate.
• Places of fighting and yelling?
• Places void of much compassion?
• Places in which we ignore the blessings of Allah and do not
thank and praise Him?
• Are they places of abuse and violence?
• Are they places in which the people who live therein or visit
are not lifted up but torn down at every turn?
• Are our homes battlegrounds most of the time and places
that we want to stay away from as much as we can instead of
places we want to be in most of the time?
• Finally, are they places where we simply play lip service to
Allah and the example of the Prophet but nothing more?
• He was just like other men.
• He himself took care of his clothes,
• Milked his goats,
• Stitched his tore apparels and
• Mended his shoes and leather buckets.
• He carried loads, gave fodder to animals.
• If there was a servant he also worked with him and
shared his labor.
• He himself brought provisions from the market
and carried them in a sheet of cloth
• Prophet was occupied at home in three kinds of
activities:
1. He spent some time in prayers and
2. Some time on his dependents and
3. Some time in rest.
• He spent some time for general meetings at the
mosque and
• For friends and guests, and
• To receive people who came to him for their
personal needs
• Once Ayesha cooked a preparation of minced meat
and wheat flour when
• Sauda was present and the Prophet was sitting
between them.
• Ayesha asked Sauda to take some of her
preparation and she did not agree to take it.
• On Sauda’s refusing it again, Ayesha actually pasted
it on her face
• The Prophet had a hearty laugh and told Sauda to
do the same with Ayesha to make her stop
• When Sauda did it the Prophet laughed again.
• Once Abu Bakr, may Allah (RA) came and
finding Ayesha (RA) talking to the Prophet
(SAW) impertinently, lost his temper and
wanted to beat her
• The Prophet (SAW) intervened and pacified
him and said that it did not matter.
• When Abu Bakr (RA) left, the Prophet(SAW)
said to Ayesha, “Did you see how I saved you
from the old man?''
• Prophet woke up in the latter half of the night,
cleansed his teeth, did ablution and offered
Tahajjud prayers and recited the Qur’an very
peacefully.
• Sometimes he stood in the prayers for such a long
time that his feet would be swollen
• His companions said where was the need of his
putting himself to so much trouble when God had
promised him forgiveness of all his lapses of the
past and future,
• The Prophet replied, “Shall I not become a grateful
servant of God?''
• Prophet said that one should pass his life as a traveler
who takes a little rest under a shade and then
continues his journey
• Neither the Prophet nor his companions built large
houses or furnished them.
• Their houses were just like rest-houses where there
was provision for protection from heat and cold and
preventive measures against wild animals and for
privacy in regard to hygienic necessities.
• The Prophet had built small rooms by the mosque for
his wives in which the only decoration was cleanliness.
• He always exhorted his companions to keep
their courtyards quite clean.
• Very few utensils were kept in the Prophet’s
house.
• There was a wooden bowl covered with iron
which was mostly used for eating.
• His bedding was of leather filled with straw.
• His cot was strung with jute ropes which he
often used without the bedding and the marks
of the rope were found on his body
• Umar (RA), the Porphet's (SAW) Companion,
once shed tears and
• He said that while emperors of Rome and Iran
lived in all luxury the Prophet was in that
condition.
• The Prophet (SAW) asked him if he was not
pleased to find that while those people gained
this world, the Prophet (SAW) gained the next.
• Gunny bag sheets were also used as bedding
• Once when they were four-folded and the
Prophet got such a sound sleep that he could
not wake up for his Tahajjud prayer,
• He resented it and strictly prohibited making for
him such ‘comfortable’ bedding.
• He liked meat in particular and preferred shank, neck
and lion of animals and also bones of ribs.
• A special Arab dish prepared with soup and bread was
also relished by him.
• Honey, vinegar, melon, cucumber, gourd, butter and
rice cooked with pulses were particularly liked by him.
• He also liked dates mixed with milk or with butter.
• He also ate cucumber with salt and melon with sugar.
• He also put dates into water and drank from it till the
evening and then threw away as keeping it longer
would ferment it.
• While drinking he never made a noise and
• He raised the cup from his lips three times, each time
thanking God.
• He liked people sitting together to eat.
• Use of table and chair was contrary to ascetic life.
• He did not like food served in small dishes.
• Silver and gold utensils were prohibited
• Glass, earthen, zinc and wooden vessels were used.
• Before sitting on the dinner mat, he removed his shoes
and washed his hands.
• He used only right hand while eating and always took
from his side of the vessels, never dipping his fingers in
the middle.
• He did not like to lean while eating.
• Generally he sat cross-legged or on folded legs with the
feet put behind like in prayers.
• If he disliked anything he quietly left it and did not
criticize.
• He avoided very hot food.
• Sometimes he cut the meat with eating he used only
three fingers and did not soil them.
• Sometimes he also ate a fruit while standing and
sometimes took two fruits together like melon and
dates.
• Sweet dish was his favourite
• He used fried barley powdered and mixed with
water.
• Once when almond powder was substituted he
rejected it saying that it was a rich man’s food.
• When soup was prepared he asked to increase its
quantity so that the neighbors could also have it.
• At every morsel he used to thank God.
• He was very particular in washing his hands after
eating.
• If there was a guest he urged him again and again
to eat freely and well.
• He never refused invitation
• If someone else went with him he always asked
the permission of the host to include him.
• In offering thanks to God after dinner he also
blessed the host.
• He got up only when others of the company had
risen.
• If others had finished before him he rose along
with the rest.
• He disliked blowing over hot food or drink or
smelling them.
• Since he disliked bad breath he never used onions
or garlic
• If any food was sent to him, he insisted on
those present to partake of it, and set apart the
share of the friends who were absent.
• Ever since the attempt made to poison him he
always enquired of the name of the food
brought from elsewhere and insisted on the
person who brought it to take at least a morsel
from it.
• In spite of this refinement of taste the Prophet
had often to go without food and used to say,
“I eat and drink as a servant of God should do .”
• The Prophet Muhammad (SAW) gave us a shining
example of how to treat women in his Sunnah,
• So many Muslims claim to follow his Sunnah and
forget that a major component of it is the prophets
(SAW) treatment of his wives,
• This is a reminder for all those who are married or
when they get married to remember this Sunnah of
the prophet (SAW)
• We must realize the value and blessing of a pious
Muslimah wife.

(‫الحديث‬ ‫رقم‬5228)‫البخاري‬ ‫صحيح‬
• The Prophet (SAW) told Aisha (RA):
• “I know well when you are pleased or angry with me.”
• Aisha replied: How do you know that?
• He said: When you are pleased with me you swear by
saying “By the God of Mohammad” but when you are
angry you swear by saying “By the God of Ibrahim”.
• She said: You are right, I just desert your name. In
another narration the same tradition ended by saying:
“No, by the God of Ibrahim”.
• (Narrated by: Aisha (RA)- Bukhari: 5228)
• Umm Salama (RA) narrated:
• She brought food in a dish of her own to the
Prophet (SAW) and his companions.
• Seeing that, Aisha came holding a tool and broke
the dish out of jealousy.
• Understanding the situation, the Prophet took the
two halves of the dish and said to his companions:
• Eat your food, it is just the jealousy of your mother.
• Then the Prophet took Aisha’s dish and gave it to
Um Salama and gave Um Salama’s dish to Aisha.

• The Prophet (SAW) said: “Treat women kindly, they were
created from a rib, and the most crooked part of the rib is the
highest part thereof; so, if you tried to rectify the rib it will be
broken and if you left the rib as it is, it will remain crooked,
and women are just like this; therefore treat them kindly”.
• (Narrater Abu Huraira – Al-Bukhari Page or number: 3331)
• This tradition is not for disparaging women as understood by
some
• This tradition is for teaching and educating men.
• It expresses the accurate understanding of the nature of the
women
• It directs men to leave the women alone in the permissible
things
• One must guide her if she exceeded the permissible limits
such as doing the sins and neglecting the duties.
• The Prophet (SAW) consulted his wives in the most delicate and important
matters.
• The Prophet (SAW) completed the treaty with the Quraish in Al-Hudaibiyah
• He told his companions to make sacrifice and shave, but no one
responded.
• The Prophet (SAW) repeated that three times but still no one responded to
him.
• Then the Prophet(SAW) went to Um Salama and told her about the matter.
• Hearing that, Um Salama said: O Prophet of Allah, just go and don’t speak
to any one until you make your sacrifice and shave.
• The Prophet (SAW) went out and did not speak to any one until he did the
same.
• Seeing that, the companions stood and made their sacrifice and began
shaving for each other

• Knowing that, Hafsa told Aisha: Why don’t you ride on my camel
and I ride yours and see what happens? Aisha replied: okay.
• Then Aisha rode the camel of Hafsa while Hafsa rode the camel of
Aisha.
• The Prophet (SAW) then went to the camel of Aisha while Hafsa
riding it, greeted her and walked together until they got down.
• Seeing that, Aisha felt jealous and tried to put her leg in lemon
grass saying : “O my Lord ! Send a scorpion or a snake to sting me,
this is your Prophet and I can’t say anything to him.”

race with you. We started the race and I won.
• After a period of time, I went in travel with him and he said to
his companions go forward. The companions went forward
and then he told me: come to have a race with you. At that
time, I forgot the former race and I was overweight. I told
him: how can we race while I am in this situation ? He replied:
you will do it. Then we started the race and he won. He
laughed then and said: tit for tat.

• Aisha (RA) narrated: “By Allah The Almighty, I saw
the Prophet (SAW) standing at the door of my room
and the Habashi people were playing with their
bayonets in the mosque of the Prophet (SAW) while
he was covering me with his gown so that I can see
them playing and was waiting for me until I finished
by my own will. So, try to consider the desires of
the young girls, as they like playing.”
• (Narrated by: Aisha : Musnid Ahmad # 26358 )
• Aisha (RA) narrated: Once, Sawda visited us and the Prophet
(SAW) sat down between me and her, one leg in her lap and
the other in mine. I made then Khazira (food) and told her:
Eat! She refused. I said: If you don’t eat I will stain your face
with Khazira but she insisted not to eat; therefore, I put my
hand in Khazira and painted her face.
• Seeing that, the Prophet (SAW) laughed and gave his share in
Khazira to Sawda and told her stain her face; so, Sawda
stained my face and the Prophet (SAW) laughed.
• Then Omar (RA) passed by and called for Abdullah. The
Prophet (SAW) thought that he will enter but Omer did not.
Prophet (SAW) said to us: “Go wash your faces.”
• Aisha said: Since then, I still fear Omar due to the Prophet’s
respect to him.
• Narrated by: Aisha – Al-Albani – The Source: Al-Al-Silsila Al-
Sahiha – Page or number: 7/363
• The Prophet (SAW) appointed Amer Bin Al-Aas as a
leader to Zat Al-Salasil Battle. Feeling the love of the
Prophet, Amer asked the Prophet: Who is the
dearest to you?
• He answered: (Aisha), Amer said: I mean from men:
he replied: (Her father), Amer said: Who then? The
Prophet replied: (Omar), then the Prophet
mentioned several men; so, Amer kept silence in
order not to be the last of them.
• (Narrated by: Abu Othman Al-Nahdi: Al-Bukhari –
Page or number: 4358)
• We went for a battle with the Prophet (SAW) and I was riding
on my camel but someone followed me from behind and
began urging my camel with a stick; so, my camel went
forward quickly more than the best camels.
• The Prophet (SAW) said: (Why you are in hurry?). I said: I got
married recently.
• He said: (You married virgin or not?). I replied: not virgin. He
said: (Isn’t it better to marry a young girl so that you can
make fun with each other?).
• Then, when I went to consummate the marriage the Prophet
(SAW) said: (Wait until night – i.e. After Al-Isha – so that the
bride can comb her hair and get ready).
• (Narrated by: Jabir Bin Abdullah – Al-Bukhari – Page or
number: 5079)
• The Prophet (SAW) used to recite Surah Al-Falaq
and An-Naas on the sick members of his family and
wiped them with his hands.
• When the Prophet (SAW) was afflicted with
sickness which caused his death, I started reading
these two Surahs and wiped him with his own
hands because they are more blessed than mine.
• (Narrated by: Aisha : Al-Musnad Al-Sahih – Page or
number: 2192)
• Angel Jibril (AS) came to the Prophet (SAW) and
said: “O Prophet of Allah, this is Khadija coming
holding a pot of food or drink, when she reaches
you, tell her the greetings of Allah The Almighty and
me and tell her that Allah has prepared for her a
house in paradise made out of pearls wherein she
will enjoy calmness and comfort.”
• (Narrated by: Abu Huraira – Al-Bukhari – Page or
number: 3820)
• Anas (RA) said,” I have never seen anyone kinder to his
children than the Prophet (SAW).
• Ibrahim, his youngest son was being suckled in the
outskirts of Madinah in a blacksmith’s house full of
smoke.
• We used to accompany him to visit his son.
• He would take him, kiss him and then go back. “
• Fatimah(RA) was his youngest daughter. He loved her
immensely.
• Once he (SAW) said,” Fatimah is a part of me. What
disturbs her disturbs me and what injures her injures
me.” (Agreed)
• Hasan and Husain (RA) used to ride on his back and let
him run like a horse.
• Once he was carrying Hasan (RA) on his shoulders and
said,” O’ Allah! I love him, so I beseech you to love
him.” (Bukhari)
• Osama Ibn Zaid reported,” I went to the Prophet (SAW)
one night for something I needed. He (SAW) came out
with something under his cloak. When I finished telling
him my business, I asked him what he had under his
cloak. When he opened it, I saw Hasan and Husain on
his hips. He then said,’ These are my sons and my
daughter’s sons. O’ Allah! I love them, so I beseech you
to love them and those who love them.” (Tirmizi)
• Ibn Abbas (RA) reported,” Then Prophet (SAW) was
carrying Hasan on his shoulder, a man said,’ You
have mounted a fine steed boy.’ The Prophet (SAW)
said,” And he is a fine rider.” (Tirmizi)
• Abu Hurairah reported,” Prophet (SAW) kissed
Hasan while Aqra Ibn Habis was sitting besides him.

him and said,” Whoever is not merciful to them,
others will not be merciful to him.” (Bukhari)
• Anas (RA) reported, “ When Ibrahim (Prophet’s son)
was dying, tears began falling from Prophet(SAW) eyes.
Abdul Rahman Ibn Auf said to him, ‘ You too , O’
Prophet of Allah?’ He replied, ‘ Ibn Auf! It is
compassion.”
• Osama Ibn Zaid (RA) said, “ Once a Prophet’s daughter
sent a message that her son was dying. The boy was at
the point of death. He was lifted up to the Prophet
(SAW). His eyes overflowed with tears. Sa’ad (RA) said,”
What is this O Prophet of Allah!?” He replied,” This is
compassion which Allah has placed in his servant’s
hearts. Allah shows compassion to those servants who
are compassionate.” (Agreed)
• 1- No distinction between male and female child-
• He condemned the pre Islamic attitude of parents
who preferred male children over female
• Ibn Abbas (RA) reported that the Prophet (SAW)
said,” If anyone has a female child and does not
bury her alive, or slight her, or prefer his children
(male) to her, Allah shall bring him to Paradise.”
(Abu Dawood)
• Aisha (RA) reported that the Prophet (SAW) said, "If
anyone suffered at all respecting these girls and
treat them well, they will be a covering for him from
Hellfire.” (Agreed)
• Your riches and your children are a trial. (64:15)
• O’ Those who believe! Let not your wealth or your
children divert you from the remembrance of Allah.
If anyone does so then he is a looser. (63:9)
• It is not your wealth or your children that will bring
you nearer to us, but only those who believe and do
good deeds. (34:37)
• And know that your worldly good and your children
are in fact a test for you and Allah has plenty for
giving you a reward. (8:28)
• O’ Mankind! Do your duty to your Lord and fear the
day when no father can avail anything for his son,
nor a son avail anything for his father. (31:33)
• As for those who have adopted an attitude of
disbelief, neither their wealth nor their children
shall avail them against Allah. They shall become
fuel for Hellfire. (3:10)
• Prophet (SAW) said, “ When a man dies all his good
deeds come to an end except three:
1-Continuous act of charity 2- Beneficial knowledge
3- Righteous children who made du’a for him.”
• Lord! Forgive me and my parents and the believers
on the Day of Judgment. (14:41)
• O my Lord! Forgive me, my parents, all who enter
my house in faith and all believing men and
believing women. (71:28)
• It is a duty of children to obey their parents and
made du’a to Allah to forgive their sins and to
accept them in Jannah.,
• Parents must teach their children about bounties of
Allah and be grateful to Him.
• O my Lord! Restrain me so that I may render thanks
to you for your favors which you bestowed upon me
and my parents and enable me to such good works
as may please you and admit me by Your Mercy
among the righteous servants. ( 27:19)

matter with you. May your forehead cleave to dust.”
• Anas (RA) said, “ I served the Prophet(SAW) for ten
years since age 8. He never blamed me for anything
destroyed by my hand. If any member of his family
blamed me, he would say, ‘ Leave him alone, for if any
thing is decreed, it will happen. “ (Mishkaat)
• All aspects of our beloved Prophet Mohammad’s
life are open and fully known
• Authenticity of the sources for knowing about his
life and character is beyond a shadow of doubt
• We have access to far more details about every
aspect of his life than we have in respect of other
historical figures
• We assert with full conviction that of all the
leaders, it is only Prophet Mohammad (SAW) to
whom the humanity can turn for true guidance in
order to solve their problems and build a just and
peaceful world order.

Prophet mohammad (saw) in his house

  • 1.
  • 2.
  • 3.
  • 4.
  • 5.
  • 6.
  • 7. • His home was one of security • Filled with great compassion not only for the people who lived there but for those who were visitors as well. • His home was a place of refuge and safety • But the Prophet’s home was a place of joy and love. • Prophet (SAW) home was also a place of civil conversation and even debate.
  • 8. • Places of fighting and yelling? • Places void of much compassion? • Places in which we ignore the blessings of Allah and do not thank and praise Him? • Are they places of abuse and violence? • Are they places in which the people who live therein or visit are not lifted up but torn down at every turn? • Are our homes battlegrounds most of the time and places that we want to stay away from as much as we can instead of places we want to be in most of the time? • Finally, are they places where we simply play lip service to Allah and the example of the Prophet but nothing more?
  • 9. • He was just like other men. • He himself took care of his clothes, • Milked his goats, • Stitched his tore apparels and • Mended his shoes and leather buckets. • He carried loads, gave fodder to animals. • If there was a servant he also worked with him and shared his labor. • He himself brought provisions from the market and carried them in a sheet of cloth
  • 10. • Prophet was occupied at home in three kinds of activities: 1. He spent some time in prayers and 2. Some time on his dependents and 3. Some time in rest. • He spent some time for general meetings at the mosque and • For friends and guests, and • To receive people who came to him for their personal needs
  • 11. • Once Ayesha cooked a preparation of minced meat and wheat flour when • Sauda was present and the Prophet was sitting between them. • Ayesha asked Sauda to take some of her preparation and she did not agree to take it. • On Sauda’s refusing it again, Ayesha actually pasted it on her face • The Prophet had a hearty laugh and told Sauda to do the same with Ayesha to make her stop • When Sauda did it the Prophet laughed again.
  • 12. • Once Abu Bakr, may Allah (RA) came and finding Ayesha (RA) talking to the Prophet (SAW) impertinently, lost his temper and wanted to beat her • The Prophet (SAW) intervened and pacified him and said that it did not matter. • When Abu Bakr (RA) left, the Prophet(SAW) said to Ayesha, “Did you see how I saved you from the old man?''
  • 13. • Prophet woke up in the latter half of the night, cleansed his teeth, did ablution and offered Tahajjud prayers and recited the Qur’an very peacefully. • Sometimes he stood in the prayers for such a long time that his feet would be swollen • His companions said where was the need of his putting himself to so much trouble when God had promised him forgiveness of all his lapses of the past and future, • The Prophet replied, “Shall I not become a grateful servant of God?''
  • 14.
  • 15. • Prophet said that one should pass his life as a traveler who takes a little rest under a shade and then continues his journey • Neither the Prophet nor his companions built large houses or furnished them. • Their houses were just like rest-houses where there was provision for protection from heat and cold and preventive measures against wild animals and for privacy in regard to hygienic necessities. • The Prophet had built small rooms by the mosque for his wives in which the only decoration was cleanliness.
  • 16. • He always exhorted his companions to keep their courtyards quite clean. • Very few utensils were kept in the Prophet’s house. • There was a wooden bowl covered with iron which was mostly used for eating. • His bedding was of leather filled with straw. • His cot was strung with jute ropes which he often used without the bedding and the marks of the rope were found on his body
  • 17. • Umar (RA), the Porphet's (SAW) Companion, once shed tears and • He said that while emperors of Rome and Iran lived in all luxury the Prophet was in that condition. • The Prophet (SAW) asked him if he was not pleased to find that while those people gained this world, the Prophet (SAW) gained the next.
  • 18. • Gunny bag sheets were also used as bedding • Once when they were four-folded and the Prophet got such a sound sleep that he could not wake up for his Tahajjud prayer, • He resented it and strictly prohibited making for him such ‘comfortable’ bedding.
  • 19.
  • 20. • He liked meat in particular and preferred shank, neck and lion of animals and also bones of ribs. • A special Arab dish prepared with soup and bread was also relished by him. • Honey, vinegar, melon, cucumber, gourd, butter and rice cooked with pulses were particularly liked by him. • He also liked dates mixed with milk or with butter. • He also ate cucumber with salt and melon with sugar. • He also put dates into water and drank from it till the evening and then threw away as keeping it longer would ferment it.
  • 21. • While drinking he never made a noise and • He raised the cup from his lips three times, each time thanking God. • He liked people sitting together to eat. • Use of table and chair was contrary to ascetic life. • He did not like food served in small dishes. • Silver and gold utensils were prohibited • Glass, earthen, zinc and wooden vessels were used. • Before sitting on the dinner mat, he removed his shoes and washed his hands. • He used only right hand while eating and always took from his side of the vessels, never dipping his fingers in the middle.
  • 22. • He did not like to lean while eating. • Generally he sat cross-legged or on folded legs with the feet put behind like in prayers. • If he disliked anything he quietly left it and did not criticize. • He avoided very hot food. • Sometimes he cut the meat with eating he used only three fingers and did not soil them. • Sometimes he also ate a fruit while standing and sometimes took two fruits together like melon and dates. • Sweet dish was his favourite
  • 23. • He used fried barley powdered and mixed with water. • Once when almond powder was substituted he rejected it saying that it was a rich man’s food. • When soup was prepared he asked to increase its quantity so that the neighbors could also have it. • At every morsel he used to thank God. • He was very particular in washing his hands after eating. • If there was a guest he urged him again and again to eat freely and well.
  • 24. • He never refused invitation • If someone else went with him he always asked the permission of the host to include him. • In offering thanks to God after dinner he also blessed the host. • He got up only when others of the company had risen. • If others had finished before him he rose along with the rest. • He disliked blowing over hot food or drink or smelling them. • Since he disliked bad breath he never used onions or garlic
  • 25. • If any food was sent to him, he insisted on those present to partake of it, and set apart the share of the friends who were absent. • Ever since the attempt made to poison him he always enquired of the name of the food brought from elsewhere and insisted on the person who brought it to take at least a morsel from it. • In spite of this refinement of taste the Prophet had often to go without food and used to say, “I eat and drink as a servant of God should do .”
  • 26. • The Prophet Muhammad (SAW) gave us a shining example of how to treat women in his Sunnah, • So many Muslims claim to follow his Sunnah and forget that a major component of it is the prophets (SAW) treatment of his wives, • This is a reminder for all those who are married or when they get married to remember this Sunnah of the prophet (SAW) • We must realize the value and blessing of a pious Muslimah wife.

  • 28. • The Prophet (SAW) told Aisha (RA): • “I know well when you are pleased or angry with me.” • Aisha replied: How do you know that? • He said: When you are pleased with me you swear by saying “By the God of Mohammad” but when you are angry you swear by saying “By the God of Ibrahim”. • She said: You are right, I just desert your name. In another narration the same tradition ended by saying: “No, by the God of Ibrahim”. • (Narrated by: Aisha (RA)- Bukhari: 5228)
  • 29. • Umm Salama (RA) narrated: • She brought food in a dish of her own to the Prophet (SAW) and his companions. • Seeing that, Aisha came holding a tool and broke the dish out of jealousy. • Understanding the situation, the Prophet took the two halves of the dish and said to his companions: • Eat your food, it is just the jealousy of your mother. • Then the Prophet took Aisha’s dish and gave it to Um Salama and gave Um Salama’s dish to Aisha. • (Sahih Al-Nasa’i – Page or number: 3966)
  • 30. • The Prophet (SAW) said: “Treat women kindly, they were created from a rib, and the most crooked part of the rib is the highest part thereof; so, if you tried to rectify the rib it will be broken and if you left the rib as it is, it will remain crooked, and women are just like this; therefore treat them kindly”. • (Narrater Abu Huraira – Al-Bukhari Page or number: 3331) • This tradition is not for disparaging women as understood by some • This tradition is for teaching and educating men. • It expresses the accurate understanding of the nature of the women • It directs men to leave the women alone in the permissible things • One must guide her if she exceeded the permissible limits such as doing the sins and neglecting the duties.
  • 31. • The Prophet (SAW) consulted his wives in the most delicate and important matters. • The Prophet (SAW) completed the treaty with the Quraish in Al-Hudaibiyah • He told his companions to make sacrifice and shave, but no one responded. • The Prophet (SAW) repeated that three times but still no one responded to him. • Then the Prophet(SAW) went to Um Salama and told her about the matter. • Hearing that, Um Salama said: O Prophet of Allah, just go and don’t speak to any one until you make your sacrifice and shave. • The Prophet (SAW) went out and did not speak to any one until he did the same. • Seeing that, the companions stood and made their sacrifice and began shaving for each other • (Narrated by: Um Salama Hind Bint Abi Umayiah reported by Ibn Jarir Al- Tabari in Tafsir Al-Tabari – Page or number: 2/293)

Aisha replied: okay. • Then Aisha rode the camel of Hafsa while Hafsa rode the camel of Aisha. • The Prophet (SAW) then went to the camel of Aisha while Hafsa riding it, greeted her and walked together until they got down. • Seeing that, Aisha felt jealous and tried to put her leg in lemon grass saying : “O my Lord ! Send a scorpion or a snake to sting me, this is your Prophet and I can’t say anything to him.” • (Narrated by: Aisha (RA): Sahih Muslim – Page or number: 2445)
