2. INTRODUCTION The inner strength for working on this topic has to do with the need to use all the tools available in the school, since this school makes part of a government program called ‘Quindio Region Digital’ that points at implementing ICT tools. So, I noticed students found really interesting to use technology in the classroom. Besides, this is a requirement to develop skills for the XXI century. The length of the research project took place during the second semester of this year. The participants are 7thgrade students from both genders, their ages are from 11to 15years-old. This is a public school where the students are supposed to have an intermediate level. Actually, their level is beginners.
3. JUSTIFICATION This research project was carried out, because it aims at benefit the students. Nevertheless it is a need nowadays to handle technology, and the majority of them are technogeeks. That is, people encouraged by technology. The purpose is to develop more autonomous and cooperative learning according to their learning style. Thus, they will become spotlights for new students encouraged by this innovative idea. In addition to this it was necessary to reevaluate the English project of this educational setting, whereas, it emphasizes on textbooks which are really old fashioned.
4. Why do internet based project work? The use of web pages and web sites in the classroom can be useful to implement project work. In the context of doing internet –based project work, It can be seen as an enormous encyclopedia because it gives our learners quick access to a diversity of information. According to Richards, Jack C(1996).There exist six categories to classify learning styles. Kinesthetic learners Visual learners Aural
5. RESEARCH QUESTION What is the impact of internet based project work on the development of learning styles? GENERAL OBJECTIVE To enhance the social work projects done by the students for developing learning styles using technology. SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES To integrate the school projects with the learning of a foreign language To create alternatives for students to learn a foreign language.
6. RESULTS Regarding the results of the questionnaire in my research on learning styles, I found out that 50% of students were kinesthetic learners.30% of my students were visual learners and 20% were aural learners. Creation of a school blog to upload videos,images.and comments.
