To Study on strength properties of
concrete with addition kernal powder as
an additive.
 In this project, we have to propose tamarind kernel
powder as an additive in the concrete.
 Concrete is one of the most widely used materials in
building construction.
 In morden days concrete is losing it’s properties when
subjected to environmental condition.
 Hence there is need to enhance the properties of
concrete and various additives are added in cement to
improve the properties of concrete.
 From the experimental results, it is observed that the
concrete exhibits improved compressive strength when
compared with the conventional mix.

 In this research,using tamarind kernel powder in concrete possess
high workability, high dimensional stability, high durability, low
permeability and esistance to chemical attack.
 The tamarind kernel powder can improved compressive strength
spilt tensile strength and compressive strength when compared with
the conventional mix.

 Tamarind seed is an under utilized product of the tamariend pulp
industey. Only a small potion of the seed in the form of TKP is used
as a sizing material in the textile paper and jute industery.
 The setting time of concretecan be takes 2 to3 days.
 The load carring capacity of reinforced concrete cubes is increased
with the addition of TKP.Stiffness value is increased for TKP admixed
concrete than the conventional concrete.

 The TKP can increase the workability and compressive strength. It
can increase the compressive strength.
 The gum is composed with simpler sugars material such as
guikopiranosa and of glucose xilose and galaxtose.

The specimen of standard cube (150x150x150) mm
were used to determine the compressive strength of the
concrete three specimend were tested for 7,14 and 28 days
of each proportions partilly replacement of tamarind kernel
powder totally 9 cubes.

The compressive strength of
concrete was increased with addition of tamarind
kernal powder TKP.The maximum strength was
observed at 0.5% addition of TKP and decreased at
0.75% addition of TKP.

The addition of TKP was found effectively improved
the properties of concrete. The compressive strength is increased with
the addition of 1.5% TKP. From the results it is conclude that tamarind
kernel powder (TKP) can be used to improve the properties of concrete.
The compressive strength of concrete cubes is increase with the addition
of TKP. Stiffness value is increased for TKP admixed concrete that the
conventional concrete. The result of compressive strength test indicated
the strength of concrete increase with respect to the percentage of TKP
is added by the weight of cement unto 1.5% of addition and gradually
the strength decreases when the percentage of TKP is added by the
weight of cement to 3% .
FUTURE SCOPE
The well defined scope in the future studies of TKP is that it can
also be replaced by cement very easily and the concrete has gives more
compressive strength.

reinforced concrete code of practice , Bureau of Indian
Standards , New Delhi.
 IS 383:1970 - Indian standard code of coarse and fine
aggregate from Natural Source for Concrete, Bureau of
Indian Standards, New Delhi.
 IS 10262-1982 – Recommended guide line for mix
design.
 IS 516-1959 - Indian Standard Methods of Tests for
strength of concrete, Bureau of Indian Standards, New
Delhi.

  • 3. To Study on strength properties of concrete with addition kernal powder as an additive.
  • 4.  In this project, we have to propose tamarind kernel powder as an additive in the concrete.  Concrete is one of the most widely used materials in building construction.  In morden days concrete is losing it’s properties when subjected to environmental condition.  Hence there is need to enhance the properties of concrete and various additives are added in cement to improve the properties of concrete.  From the experimental results, it is observed that the concrete exhibits improved compressive strength when compared with the conventional mix.

Devaki VOL.7 jan 2018.  In this research,using tamarind kernel powder in concrete possess high workability, high dimensional stability, high durability, low permeability and esistance to chemical attack.  The tamarind kernel powder can improved compressive strength spilt tensile strength and compressive strength when compared with the conventional mix.

  • 20. The addition of TKP was found effectively improved the properties of concrete. The compressive strength is increased with the addition of 1.5% TKP. From the results it is conclude that tamarind kernel powder (TKP) can be used to improve the properties of concrete. The compressive strength of concrete cubes is increase with the addition of TKP. Stiffness value is increased for TKP admixed concrete that the conventional concrete. The result of compressive strength test indicated the strength of concrete increase with respect to the percentage of TKP is added by the weight of cement unto 1.5% of addition and gradually the strength decreases when the percentage of TKP is added by the weight of cement to 3% . FUTURE SCOPE The well defined scope in the future studies of TKP is that it can also be replaced by cement very easily and the concrete has gives more compressive strength.
