This document discusses a study on using tamarind kernel powder as an additive in concrete to improve its strength properties. Three students conducted the study under the guidance of a professor. They tested concrete mixes with 0%, 1.5%, and 3% replacements of cement with tamarind kernel powder. Test results showed compressive strength increased with 1.5% replacement at 7, 14, and 28 days compared to the normal mix. The maximum strength was achieved with 1.5% replacement, after which strength decreased with further addition of tamarind kernel powder. The study concluded tamarind kernel powder can be used to effectively improve concrete properties and increase compressive strength.
