This research investigates the performance of styrene-butadiene rubber (SBR) latex in cement concrete mixes, demonstrating that SBR latex enhances compressive and flexural strength at 28 days while showing initial negative effects at earlier stages. The study established that incorporating 15% SBR latex by weight of cement yields the best performance, improving workability and reducing water ingress. The findings suggest the potential for SBR-modified concrete to reduce pavement thickness requirements, making it a more economical choice for construction.
