Essay on Occupy Wall Street Movement
The Occupy Wall Street Movement that began in New York Sept. 17 and has since spread like
wildfire across the world has made an undeniable impact on the social and political climate of the
Upper Midwest.| With various Occupy protest committees continuing to spring up across Minnesota
and North Dakota, many working people in the region who, previously, might not have come
together on other political issues say they have found common ground in the Occupy Movement.
Union, non union, white collar, and unemployed workers are learning to work together towards
severing, what protesters describe as, a dangerously cozy relationship between Wall Street and
Washington D.C., that has undermined democracy in the United States and across the ... Show more

This diversity of grievances expressed in various Occupy locations has drawn criticism from some
as evidence of a lack of focus within the movement. | |
Its obvious what we re about, responds Nathan Ness of St Paul, an OCW activist who has
participated in Occupy Movement actions in Minneapolis, Duluth and California. The Occupy Wall
Street Movement is a movement protesting corporate greed. Corporate greed has many tentacles
that people in the Occupy movement are focusing on. However, most of us agree that human
beings, not corporations, should have the rights of personhood.
Dave Bicking of Minneapolis, a former Green Party candidate for Minneapolis City Council,
agrees: Over the years, we ve conducted countless demonstrations, lobbying efforts, boycotts you
name it, trying to get specific demands addressed. The problem is: nobody is listening at the top.
The system is completely rigged against us.
There is a diversity of ideas in the Occupy Wall Street Movement concerning how, exactly, to deal
with the corporate take over of our democracy. We don t always agree on every issue. But, the
Occupy Wall Street Movement is about changing the fundamental way our system operates. We all
seem to agree on that.
In Grand Rapids, Minnesota, Mel Thoresen of Occupy Grand Rapids reports that, from his

Comparison Of George Washington And Simon Bolivar
George Washington and Simon Bolivar both played very important roles in achieving independence
for their counties. George Washington was the political and military leader of the United States,
while Simon Bolivar Was the political and military leader for parts of Latin America. They were
both recognized as great leaders, and because of the impact they left, they now both have
monuments, holidays, exhibits, currency, and many other things showing their significance. The
main difference between the two is how and what they did to accomplish this bold movement.
George Washington favored strategy more than the hero that saves the day. Where on the other
hand, Simon Bolivar was the kind of guy that would save the day and do bold and unexpected

similar paths to get in the position to lead their country, their military course of action were very
different from one another. Bolivar was a more successful general on the battlefield, While, George
Washington never won a major battle (He had a great reputation though).
George Washington Was elected to be president on April 30th, 1789. He was the very first president

Explain How The Path A Water Molecule Travels Through The...
1.Describe the path a water molecule takes as it travels through the hydrologic cycle. The
hydrological cycle is a never ending cycle that keeps us alive. The path begins with: Evaporation
when water evaporates in the form of water vapor by the heat of the sun and enters the air.
Transpiration Water enters the air when plants breathe in a process known as transpiration.
Condensation the process which water vapor in the air turns into liquid and forms clouds. Rain
drops often form when water vapor comes in contact with dust in the air. Clouds Clouds are a
mass of water or ice droplets in the air. An example of a cloud next to the earth s surface is fog.

The oceans cover about 71 percent of the Earth which makes the ocean a key factor in storing and
transferring heat energy around the world. Inconsistency in the heating of the earth gives rise to
global wind patterns. Since the wind patterns are constant, the winds create steady movements in
the water known as currents. When the air blows across the surface of a body of water, the water
begins to move from small waves to larger waves. When the water starts to move it is subject to the
Coriolis Effect (The Coriolis Effect, the pattern of the wind movement and the arrangement of
landmasses are responsible for the large scale patterns of wind driven surface currents in the ocean)
and begins to bend redirecting the water to the right of the direction of the wind in the Northern
Hemisphere and to the left in the Southern Hemisphere. Each hemisphere of an ocean has its very
own gyre, a circular motion of water. In the northern hemisphere the gyres turn clockwise and in the
southern hemisphere it turns counterclockwise. The current that runs south along the coast is the
California Current and the current in the Gulf of Alaska is the Alaskan

Personal Statement On Life s Hustle And Bustle
In life s hustle and bustle sometimes it s easy to get lost in the whole process leaving you
wondering is your life leading you instead of you leading it. I needed to find some personal
fulfillment in my life. So I had to do a self check to discover what my true purpose was in this
life. How impactful was I in changing the world. I was completely satisfied raising my son and
being engaged in everything he was involved in. However, the closer it came for him to graduate
from high school the more I began to think about what my new life would be like. I had to deal
with the persisting question of what did I want to do with the rest of my life. Overall, I felt like I
was a pretty decent mother, an awesome friend, a loving sister and I have a faith based foundation.
Even with all those great attributes I still didn t know what my true purpose was here on earth.
When I think of the questions easily, the first thing I thought of was philanthropy. Living a
healthy lifestyle would be next. I m very excited about getting the chance to expound on my
future in leadership and mentoring rolls. Next, I want to explore what full potential and purpose
is and how can I be a positive impact on the world. At this stage of my life I feel that it says Yes to:
being a philanthropist, having a health and wellness for my body and soul as well as being involved
in leadership and mentoring.
Philanthropy was an easy choice for me because it s something that I ve been doing for quite some

Compare And Contrast The Renaissance Art And Paintings
When looking at the paintings that were created throughout the Renaissance art period, there are
multiple paintings that depict religious stories. The best of these paintings has Jesus depicted
within them. The majority of these paintings were created by those who had a large impact on the
art world today. One of the most famous paintings that reveals religion within it is The Last Supper
by Leonardo da Vinci, which is similarly to The Wedding at Cana by Paolo Veronese. When
analyzing these two pieces of artwork, they are often confused for the other due to the fact that
they are both based on biblical stories as well as how they are organized. There have been multiple
discussions about which painting has more impact based on their physical effect. Based on the
color and imagery depicted in the painting, The Wedding at Cana, it is one of the most influential
and inspiring stories ever told in a religious painting.
The painting, The Wedding at Cana, was created in the year 1563 which was a mixed time
between two art periods. This was during the end of the Renaissance art period and right in the
middle of the Mannerism art period. The Renaissance was the most famous art period in which
some of the most influential pieces of work were created. The Renaissance is the time when artists
were coming out of the middle ages and were able to put more creativity within their art work.
Cultures had mixed with one another and this was shown in the work that was produced by the

Essay about The Privacy of E-Mail
The Privacy of E Mail
Today the Internet is being used more and more frequently, and the question of e mail privacy is
becoming more and more of an issue in society. Many people today, both at work and at home, are
using e mail to keep in touch with their friends, family, and their co workers. Sometimes the
information that is contained in these messages is private and confidential, neither the sender nor
the receiver wish any one else to be privy to what is contained in these messages. What happens
if that very private piece of mail is intercepted and read by those whom it is not meant for? For
some people it might only be a slight problem, but for others it could cause some serious problems.
It also brings up the issue of who ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It would be very difficult to prove that someone intercepted a message that was not meant for them
and read it. Another problem that comes with this act is that it does not protect the person from
having their e mail read by an inside source . An inside source would include, their boss or another
member of the company that they are working for, so someone in that position could reasonably
read their e mail without having to worry about reprimands form the company. Courts have ruled
that e mail sent via an office system is only private if the sender has a reasonable expectation of
privacy when they send it. Again this can be pretty vague about what a persons reasonable
expectation of privacy for their e mail means. What reasonable expectation means for one person
may be very different for another, creating quite a problem in the company about what
reasonable expectation is. Many companies now have policies for their employee e mail that
states that it is not a good idea for a person to send private e mail through the companies system. It
is also a know fact that if the company owns the system that the e mail is being sent through then
they have the right to inspect and to read what is being sent. If a person wishes to avoid prying
eyes they might wish to have an old fashioned face to face conversation when discussing something
that is private.

Leon Trotsky and Snowball both help win their revolutions. Leon Trotsky and Snowball were

of The Headless Horseman began. Willing to killanyone in his way, he stopped at nothing to

Disadvantages Of Lubricant
In a high precision machining operation, lubricant is extensively needed to remove the heat at the
tool workpiece interfaces. High heat is generated at the interface due to friction between the tool
and the workpiece, which can lead to a very poor workpiece surface quality and tool wear. For that
reason, report showed that approximately 320,000 tons of lubricantwere used per year in the
European Union [1] proving the importance of lubricant in machining application. Lubricant is
divided into three categories that are neat oil, water soluble fluids, and gases [2], where the most
common type of lubricant in machining application is the water soluble fluids. This type of
lubricant is made of water mixed with oil with a certain ratio depending on the types of application
being used.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Lawal et al. [16] has done an evaluation on the performance of vegetable oil in turning process in
comparison to mineral oil. The investigation found that the vegetable oil surpass conventional oil
in water performance in turning process. Likewise, Babur et al. [17] have conclude that vegetable
oil are effective in producing better surface quality and tool wear than synthetic cutting fluids
during turning process. Nevertheless, improvement on the performance of vegetable oil can be
done by utilising powder particles such as MoS2, graphite, boric acid, etc. Improvement can be
seen from using powder particle aided lubricant in terms of surface finish, coefficient of friction,
wear and cutting force [18]. This is because powder particle has lattice layered structure (Fig. 1),
relatively high load carrying capacity and low steady state coefficient of friction [19]. Moreover,
powder particle such as boric acid are environmentally friendly and do not pose threat to operational
workers according to the Environmental Protection Agency, which is desirable in creating a greener
lubrication in machining application

E.T.A. Hoffmann s The Sandman illuminates Freud s theory of the Uncanny. Freud s understanding
of Nathaniel in E.T.A. Hoffmann s The Sandman is that the Nathaniel s madman like actions are
the result of the return of his suppressed juvenile material. Nathaniel is the protagonist and is
convinced that a frightful destiny awaits him. His fear focuses on a threatening old man whom he

In the Uncanny Freud states everything that ought to have remained hidden and secret, and yet
comes to light, (7) Whenever something reminds Nathaniel of the sandman it triggers him to turn
into a madman and he gets lost in his own world. There are different causes that trigger one to go
mad. Freud believes that one of the main sources of uncanny has to do with the idea of one being
robbed of their eyes. Oedipus that mythical lawbreaker was simply carrying out a mitigated for of
punishment of castration. Freud believes Nathaniel was afraid of castration not just loosing his
eyes since many cherish both. Oedipus links with Nathanael, both were afraid of loosing a part of
them that they both treasure. Nathanael also treasures his mother. Nathaniel seems to only see his

Critical Reflection Is Essential For Developing An...
Critical reflection is essential for developing an adaptive pedagogy in that critical reflection
encourages the sharing of knowledge, skills and experiences. Furthermore, critical reflective
practice is a form of ongoing learning that involves engaging with questions of philosophy, ethics
and practice. Additionally, documenting the daily events in the ECE sector is an important aspect
of being a professional and are a compulsory requirement for meeting the NCAC (2005) guidelines
for high quality early childhood educationand care (National Childcare Accreditation Council,
2005.) Therefore it is becoming increasingly important for practitioners to have the ability to
critically reflect on pedagogical practice and the development of child agency in effective learning
contexts.
Pedagogies, which are reflected in elements of teaching actions and practices, such as types of
documentation and methods of grouping children, should be relevant to the context and consistent
with the service s philosophy and approaches to curriculum. This means that ...approaches and
pedagogies will differ from one setting to the next as they take into account staff and family
perspectives, the service philosophy and analysis of the context s potential and challenges... (USQ,
2016). As educators refine their philosophy they will also adjust pedagogies to reflect new
approaches. Understandings of children and childhood should lead practitioners to continuously
investigate how they transform approaches

He and A Jazz-Age Clerk
In He by Katherine Anne Porter and A Jazz Age Clerk by James Thomas Farrell, two characters
who struggle with the aspects of poverty express the significance of how people view them in their
lives; their primary concern is what people say and think of them. Both characters, Mrs. Whipple

Whipple constantly informs Mr. Whippleof the thoughts or ideas that people might have towards
their simple minded son, whereas Jack characterizes a materialistic and superficial person whose

an ordinary family. Sadly, Mrs. Whipple s excessive concern about what others think or say, her

There are different levels of income and consumption in the different areas of China.
Dissimilarities in education, consumption, power, personal habits and tastes lead many
multinational companies to view China as one nation, but certainly not one national market.
While overseas companies focus on the premium market, China s domestic consumer goods
companies compete in principal for middle and low income consumers. Also, the new labor law
introduced in January 2008 has improved labor protection and wage regulations, but most
importantly it has raised China s factory labor cost substantially causing foreign investors in labor
intensive, low margin industries to reconsider their Chinese establishments. China made products

Introduction
Writing has never been my forte. Nevertheless, this is not to say that I could not write. Throughout

Canada s Power Regime Changes From New Face And New...
As Canada s power regime changes to a new face and new political party, the nation state receives
a new vision. A new movement is introduced for establishing Canada s name socially,
economically, and politically in its global relations. Canada has experienced this in the face of
newly elected Prime Minister Sr. Justin Trudeau. Particularly inquiring of the dialogues exchanged
within the conversation between Sr. Justin Treadeau and a press reporter in regards to a taxpolicy
change that appeared to have a concealed contentious issue. The PM s progressive plans aim to be
for the wellbeing of Canadian society and building the pavement for a prosperous economy.
Although Trudeau s interior motives may be for the common good, for example to combat
inequalities and class hierarchies between the Canadian citizens, his plan however may only be
justice for some citizens and unfairness for the others. Analyzing this argument in accordance to
the Rawls principles of justice as fairness, and Locke s interpretation of individual rights and

There Should Be No Credit Cards
There Should Be No Credit Cards
Introduction
Today many people blame their credit card debt on the economy. With their being so little
employment with very little income; we are forced to live under our means. Credit is usually
misused and accumulates large amounts of debt. Many people use credit cards for daily expenses or
to buy their wants rather their needs. Often times, credit cards are used to pay rent, utilities and
other daily expenses due to people living off of paycheck to paycheck and do not make enough
money to pay their monthly bills to buy necessities. Some people may use credit cards to keep up
their material social statuses amongst their peers. Other people have some sort of social
influences; however, these people do not need to rely on credit to live, it is just to impress friends.
Credit card companies reel college students with applications in the mail daily and advertisements
are causing them financial burdens.
When Debt Begins
The debt of credit cards typically starts at a young age in life, before discipline and life
experiences have taken place. Yes, they get you even before you start college. They know when
your eighteenth birthday has come. It is a given fact that most credit card debt is accrued right
before or during college. I would say definitely before college. Most teenagers want to get what is
hot for their first year in college with their new credit cards they hide from their parents. Mannix

first one who defined the term of strategic management. In this book the scholar tried to define in
detail the strategic managementrole in companies. The aim of this was to develop a way where
potential of the firm had to meet the firm s objectives. He tried to introduce planning into the
companies so there would not be any waste for the company. The book tried to explain the way
how a company should operate individually as every company has their own goals and resources.
He believed that every company should make strategies that suit their policy and their... Show more

He distinguished planning and strategy as being very clear that those two terms are different,
through his whole book he was explaining how planning is coming before making a strategy and
how planning is more important the strategy itself. One of his key point in the book was that the
company should more invest on the insight of the company then on the figures, as he believes that
there is no high output and profit if the employees are not satisfied. By reading his book, I have
come to a conclusion that every step has to be planned so the company gets to their

Leviathan By Thomas Hobbes
Leviathan by Thomas Hobbes was written in 1651 to publish the political thoughts of Hobbes and
promote his negative view to human nature. The story is interesting, because of the fact that even
though it was written four hundred years ago, it can still be applied to society today. Leviathan
consists of many sections promoting Hobbes beliefs, but the section in Perry s textbook is about the
misinterpretation of equality of mankind. Hobbes wrote this to explain to the population the
selfishness of humanity and to rid the world of power and corruption. However, Hobbes does not
see much of a chance for humanity to actually treat each other equally. Instead, he splits the
disagreements of mankind into three categories, first, competition; secondly, diffidence; thirdly,
glory (21).... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Our natural instinct as humans is to become and want to become as powerful as we possibly can.
He attributes this attribute to our desire for gain and to be the master of other people as well. It is
easy to see this attribute in our world leaders like the President of the United States or any of the
other leaders of the many countries on our planet. Another area of our society that this attribute
of gain and selfishness, especially in the United States, is in the corporate world. Many of our
powerful business leaders are driven by great and power over others, and this drive only proves
Hobbes point about the naturally selfish nature of humanity. Looking back at the 1600, Hobbes
time, the drive for man to compete was very relevant in leadership positions of countries. Many
of the kings and dictators of history have been driven to compete by the drive to power. Each ruler
is driven by their own specific reason to compete, but when push comes to shove, our nature is to
compete for what we want, not to compromise for

Biltmore
The Biltmore Estate represents the finest architecture, construction, and materials available in the
late nineteenth century. The famous house was built by George Vanderbilt, grandson of Corneluis
Vanderbilt. George inherited money from Cornelius, a pioneer in the railroad industry (Hudson et
al. 113). Cornelius Vanderbilt gained much of his wealth and prominence through hard work in
the railroad and shipping industries (Cohen n. pag). BY the time he died, his railroad company he
owned was worth well over one hundred fifty million dollars. Most of his estate was left to his son
William, George s father ( Vanderbilt, Cornelius [1794 1877] n. pag). While in control of the

over ten thousand books kept in the library, many of which George read for leisure, as well as a

Vanderbilt collected during his travels are kept in the house ( Biltmore n. pag). The seventeen
acres of gardens were designed by Frederick Law Olmsted, the same designer of the gardens in
Biltmore Village (Hudson et al. 113). Daily life at the estate was simple. Time would be spent
visiting friends or relaxing throughout the home. Both the indoor swimming pool and bowling
alley provided entertainment to the Vanderbilt s and their guests. Servants also scurried about, in
order to please the Vanderbilt family. Employees also operated the farm and dairy center located
on the premises. Sometimes George Vanderbilt would travel to his hunting retreat at Mount
Pisgah. When George Vanderbilt died in 1914, due to a heart attack after an emergency
appendectomy, his wife, Edith, sold most of the property to the federal government for five
dollars and acre. Later, because of financial purposes, about twelve thousand acres more were
sold. This land became a large portion of the Pisgah National Forest (Pisgah National Forest n.
pag). After the sales, roughly eight thousand acres of land remain for the estate (Hintz et al. n. pag).

He felt like society did not accept him for who was because of his beliefs. He knew that people,
mostly the beasts would judge him. Building a stronger, more compassionate friendship with
Prendick made him open up about the different things about the island and how he felt. Talking to
Montgomery more about the beast creatures, Prendick said, In spite of their increased intelligence,
and the tendency of their animal instincts to reawaken, they had certain Fixed Ideas implanted by
Moreau in their minds which absolutely bounded their imaginations (61 62). Prendick initially was
intimidated by the numerous amount of animals around the island because he was not familiar with
the culture and life of living on an island. Since talking with Montgomery helped him cope with his
fears of walking in the woods. Since Montgomery introduced the different facts and background
information about the beast creatures, Prendick was able to notice extraordinary aspects about

Explain Why Did The North Win The Civil War
Why did the North win the Civil War?
One of the most important event in the history of the United States is the war of the North and
South of 1861 1865, the Civil War. The main causes of the war lay in the field of economics. In
the North, in the period preceding the war, a powerful industry and a banking sector were created.
The open slave trade and slavery did not bring such fabulous profits as the exploitation of thousands
and thousands of free people in terrible conditions. The northern clans needed millions of new
workers for their enterprises. And slaves in agriculture could replace thousands of agricultural
machines, increasing profitability.

World Resources And Unequal Distribution
World Resources and Unequal Distribution In a world run by different resources, we will never
have enough for ourselves. In the modern world, resources such as rare earth elements, oil, and
water are always in demand. The United States of America alone consumes more resources and
energy than it produces. But what about other nations? Some nations such as Japan, Great Britain,
and South Korea are industrialized nations with many advantages over resources. Other
developing nations such as Haiti, Ethiopia, Angola, and even Afghanistan are not as
industrialized. Why? Many of the world s resources is almost unable to reach the most poorest
and unindustrialized parts of the world. This can be due to factors such as hostile terrorists, lack
of transportation, lack of basic necessities and so forth. Unequal distribution of resources is not
just a world issue but the reason why this exists is because literally, resources are used more than
what is produced and it cannot uphold the current population of over seven billion. The issues
concerning unequal distribution of resources towards poor parts of the world won t stop others
from solving this issue. There are already plans that are taken into action to help industrialize and
strengthen the poor parts of the world. To begin, the unequal distribution of food can be averted
with the right planning of sharing and disbursement. In the past, there were events in history where
the world combated hunger but it was not enough due to

Explore the change in style of jazz bass since the introduction of electric bass (bass guitar)
Modern 4 string, fretted, horizontally played electric bass was first introduced by Paul Tutmarc
in the 1930s. Later in 1950s Leo Fender developed this idea so it could be mass produced and
finally introducing the Fender Precision bass in 1951. Electric bass then started to coexist with the
double basses in jazz, since there were bassists starting to use electric bass as they are easier to be
played, could be easily transported, and were able to be amplified to any volume without feeding

Convenience And Association When Talking With One Another
Convenience and association when talking with one another is one of many uses that names
provide. Names carry strong ethnics and religious connotations, and reveal an individual s
affiliation to a specific group. They are able to capture and reflect upon one s unique culture,
history, religion, and lineage. The sense of personal identity and uniqueness that a name gives us is
why names interest us and are deemed so important to us as individuals. Unfortunately those of us
who carry names that are hard to pronounce or are simply strange in the eyes of the western world,
feel inclined to accommodate to much more Eurocentric names. In spite of their importance, the
practice of white washing foreign names is dangerous. It affects all generations in a lineage from
the past, present, to the future. Therefore, names have been homogenized for the convenience of
the colonizer throughout history, can be seen in current social Chinese policies today, and
consequently creates a homogenized legacy of children wearing white masks for future generations.
Although many foreigners take part in this name change practice, this research paper will focus on
the Chinese American phenomena of name changes. Consequently, Chinese Americans are
becoming the new victims forced to wear white masks by their colonizers. It is necessary to
analyze this phenomenon to secure the integrity of all cultures. Proctor: Because it is my name!

Hart Benton Section 3 Summary
In this paper we will be discussing a mural by Thomas Hart Benton titled, A Social History of the
State of Missouri. This mural is located in the Missouri state capitol in Jefferson City Missouri.
This mural is located in the House Lounge of the capitol building. The mural covers 3 of the
walls with the exception of the West wall full of windows. The room measured 25 feet wide, 55
feet long, and 14feet 2 inches high. Benton used egg tempera for the mural and beeswax and
varnish to protect it. In 1935, House Bill 536, Section 87B became law, appropriating $16,000 for
Benton to paint a mural in the House Lounge of the MissouriState Capitol. The mural was
completed in 1936.
Description:
As you walk into the House Lounge you are facing the west wall that is a row of windows.
Benton painted corn stalks, railroad lines, electrical line towers, and smoke from the train
between the windows. As you walk to the right you are facing the North wall it showcases
Missouri s early history. It is split into five sections and door separating them. There are three
larger sections and two smaller ones. In the first large panel to the left of the door you see an
Indian trading with a white man, a white man putting a pack on a mule, two white men loading
/unloading a barrel from/on a wagon, three men shooting guns, and a white man plowing land
with an ox. Above the door is a mural of a Black man holding a fish and he is looking down on a

The Social Structure Of The West
8th century and particular causes that explain why it was by far the most violent and the most
universally significant of these revolutions. The first of the general causes was the social
structure of the West. The feudal regime had been weakened step by step and had already
disappeared in parts of Europe. The increasingly numerous and prosperous elite of wealthy
commoners merchants, manufacturers, and professionals, often called the bourgeoisie aspired to
political power in those countries where it did not already possess it. The peasants, many of
whom owned land, had attained an improved standard of living and education and wanted to get
rid of the last vestiges of feudalism so as to acquire the full rights of landowners and to be free to
increase their holdings. Furthermore, from about 1730, higher standards of living had reduced the
mortality rate among adults considerably. This, together with other factors, had led to an increase
in the population of Europe unprecedented for several centuries: it doubled between 1715 and
1800. For France, which with 26 million inhabitants in 1789 was the most populated country of
Europe, the problem was most acute. Voltaire [Credit: Stock Montage/Hulton Archve/Getty

of new gold mines in Brazil had led to a general rise in prices throughout the West from about 1730,

If you are having a large rug, you can buy a simple non slip rug pad to keep your area rug from
slipping or shifting from its position. If you are only interested in keeping your larger area rugs
from sliding from its position, then just buying a basic non slip rug pad can do the trick.
However, a quality rug pad is only essential for smaller rugs. For larger area rugs, a basic non skid
rug pad can help in preventing them from slipping or sliding. My recommendation is a natural
rubber rug pad because it is more eco friendly (made from rubber tree sap) and won t stain your

A Brief Note On Video Services And The Security Training...
Tk Video Services has been able to identify key areas that may propose some dangerous risk for
the company. One of the risks has to do with the staff, they are in charge of the daily use of
digital information. This information contains sensitive information and therefore it shall not
be left out in the open for all to see at will. Some members of the staff have been using their
personal unauthorized devices on the networks, this creates problems for the IT department due
to the fact it the hardest problem to track; therefor the company has to find or create ways to stop
the problems. One way to achieve the intended goals is to provide some basic training and
review of the company values. Secondly there has to be some tough sanctions if there is a
policy violation the employee must know and understand this risk is not acceptable and this
behavior is going to change immediately. Another vulnerability the company faces has to do
with the security training, the company should properly train the employees the old as well as
the new and provide proper ways to secure the important information that is being used, this
protocol must be implemented and carried out on a regularly basis, the training will cover the

client information. In relations to the CLPBC Professional Standards of Practice for Licensed
Practical Nurses as well as the Entry to Practice Competencies for Licensed Practical Nurses; this
passage overviews how nurses maintain and promote the privacy and confidentiality of clients and
client information, the actions to take when confidentiality is breached, and how nurses ensure that
all information is collected, used, and disclosed on pertinent information. Understanding the
difference between privacy and confidentiality is the first step for providing ethical, safe,
compassionate, and competent care. Privacy entails the clients individual right to restrict any
information from being disclosed. People tend to only share information to health care providers
when they feel safe, and in control. Confidentiality, is the health care providers responsibility to
keep enclosed, and private. Nurses should only share patient information to direct sources and when
it is to be used for pertinent data. Providing a private and confidential environment will create a

Technology Opportunities in The Trucking Industry
This paper is written to inform you about three technology opportunities that will make a positive
impact on transportation. These opportunities will lead to more efficient transportation now and in
the future. The first technological opportunity discussed is Truck Design; the design of the truck
can make a difference in fuel cost. The second technological opportunity discussed is a Speed
Governor System; this is a device in trucks that restricts the speed it can travel. The final
technological opportunity discussed is the use of cloud computing; this is where information and
software is shared on multiple devices. By the end of this paper you will know what great things
can come out of these three new technologies and how they... Show more content on

The new inventive designs of vehicles to make them more fuel efficient gives the industry a
chance to lower prices because of a lower profit margin and that gives them the opportunity to be
more price competitive. Providing better prices for services than other companies who do the same
thing will bring in a lot more business to the company. More business is an opportunity to expand
operations and invest in even more ways to save money and expand the company.
With the inclusion of speed governors on trucks, trucking will be more gas efficient and safer.
Gas efficiency will lead to great savings on fuel that will cut the cost of transportation. Speed
governors are devices that put a limit on how fast a vehicle can go. The reduction of speed has big
effects on fuel efficiency, It s a fact that slowing a truckdown by 10 miles per hour reduces fuel
consumed by 15 percent (Graham, 2011). Fuel efficiency is not the only thing that comes from
the use of speed governors; the trucks are safer, the equipment (such as tires and brakes) last
longer, and the liability cost is lower (Road Safe America, 2009). With the placement of Governors
on trucking vehicles, drivers will not be able to speed up past the pre set miles per hour by the
trucking company.
The Governor leads to trucking companies to be able to lower

Carl Johnson s Life Matters
Carl Johnson s life matters. A 90 year old veteran in Virginia, Carl was the last Tuskegee Airman to
graduate from the famed school that produced so many heroic African American aviators.
According to a recent article in the Washington Post, the U.S. Army issued Carl a train ticket for a
Pullman sleeping car so he could get from Texas to Alabama for his military training in 1946.
Carl recalled being told by the station manager that he and his fellow black soldiers were not
allowed to use the Pullman. You have to go in coach, they were ordered.
Threatened with jail if they resisted, the soldiers rode for 24 hours and were denied the use of the
train s dining car as well.
Despite the indignities, Carl would continue to treat his country better than many of his fellow
citizens treated him.
Carl would extend his military service for another three decades, serving in the Korean and
Vietnam Wars. He would earn a Distinguished Flying Cross and 10 Air Medals and retire as a
colonel.
Air Force Staff Sergeant Brian McElroy and Tech Sergeant Jason L. Norton were military police
officers. Unfortunately, they are unable to extend their military service. Their lives were tragically
taken.
Assigned to the 3rd Security Forces Squadron, Elmendorf Air Force Base, Alaska, Sergeants
McElroy and Norton made the supreme sacrifice when their vehicle struck an IED while on patrol
near Taji, Iraq on January 22, 2006.

Water Is A Vital Nutrient Needed For The Survival Of All...
Water is a vital nutrient needed for the survival of all species. One quality of water that was
observed in this lab is known as the hardness of water. Hardness is caused by the presence of
polyvalent cations that dissolve in the water as it moves through soil and rock.1 The main minerals
that give water a hard quality are Ca2+ and Mg2+ therefore, a sample containing a large
concentration of calciumand magnesium is considered hard while a sample containing little or no
calcium and magnesium is considered soft.3 Hard water is not harmful to the body but it proves
to be a problem when dealing with daily household chores such as doing dishes, laundry, and
even bathing. When combined with soap, hard water produces an insoluble precipitate, known
as soap scum, that lessens the effectiveness of soap and requires more to remove.4 Hard water
also interferes with industrial processes due to the formation of a precipitate known as scale.
Scale tends to be found in pipes, boilers, and other devices used in industrial processes as it is
formed when hard water is heated. This proves to be a major problem as the scale formation
reduces the water flow, greatly decreases the heat transfer process, and eventually requires the
metal in the devices to be replaced, which is a very expensive process. Therefore, many industries
require the use of soft water to perform their everyday functions.2 The hardness of water can be
measured in units of parts per million (ppm) or grains per gallon.

The Theme Of Death In Disney Movies
The Circle of life The Lion King was definitely not the first Disney movies to contain death, but it
was the first to have a central theme around it. Children still sing The Circle of Life on repeat,
however back they never really think about the meaning behind the song, it was just another
catchy Disney song to a six year old. In this classic song people are taught about the
fundamentals of death and how its just one big circle. Death is a necessary part of life, world
religions revolve around it, and it drives people to accomplish more in life. One of the most
common appearances of the topic death is in religion. Holy books such as the Bible, the Vedas, and
the Tripitaka, show many different views on what death is and what happens to... Show more

One of the first reasons death is so important is because without death earth would have reached
its carrying capacity along time ago. Alan Watts a famous british philosopher once said If one
person dies, it is in a way honorable, because he s making room for others ( ). Watt s said that
dying was honorable which is very true. Through death current generations are leaving room for
the next generation and their contributions to the world. Improving the world is one of the main
goals of humans and many find comfort in knowing, as Jeffrey Kluger wrote in his Time
Magazine Article, that the world you re exiting is at least a bit richer than the one you found
when you arrived ( ). One of the most fulfilling things for a person to know before they die is that
they have had some sort of impact on the world around them, whether it be through the
environment, animals, or the people around them, it helps people feel like their death was more
meaningful if they know they left a legacy behind. Alan Watts once said that death is the source of
life. We see this when the leaves fall from the trees and they mold and wrot creating humus from
which more plants can grow ( ). All around things die but in the end death makes way for future

story s setting impacts the events of the novel. The book begins in Lodz, Poland before the
Germans invade. The Germans invaded in September 1939. In May 1940, they establish the

We must learn from these horrors. We must learn when people remain silent while others are
persecuted (260). I think this passage is very important to the book and the whole message it
states. I have read Holocaust memoirs in the past and they all say that we cannot forget this
tragedy. Because if we do, it may happen again to another group of people.
This is a very important message about society because it is extremely imperative that a mass
genocide like the Holocaust doesn t happen again. There are many genocides that have happened
in the world and we cannot let ourselves turn our backs or look the other way if something like
the Holocaust occurs again. This a message everyone should know and apply to their lives. So that

Leo Steinberg Flatbed Picture Plane Analysis
In the late 1950s, Rauschenberg began to make the groundbreaking works he dubbed Combines.
These works inspired Leo Steinberg s theorization of the flatbed picture plane. This term was
posited in his essay Reflections on the State of Criticism. The essay s first manifestation was as a
lecture given at the Museum of Modern Artin March 1968, and was subsequently published in
Artforum in 1972. Notably, it was also the title essay in Steinberg s book Other Criteria:
Confrontation with Twentieth Century Art, of 1972. Steinberg s notion of the flatbed picture plane
has several facets. This picture plane relies on the actual flatness of the paintings surface, the
horizontality of the work s construction and reception, an interaction between... Show more content

Unlike canvas or paper, printing stones and plates can only be worked on while they are flat. The
weight of the lithography stones, the acid bath of etchings, and the carving of woodcuts do not
allow for any other orientation. Furthermore, presses are always kept horizontal; any other
orientation would not create enough pressure to transfer the image to paper. Rauschenberg s affinity
for lithography (I am suggesting) is foreshadowed in his Combines as well as in his early indexical
works. In fact, it can be asserted that critical concerns like the flatbed and the index better suit his
lithographs than his other

To Perpetual Peace
In To Perpetual Peace: A Philosophical Sketch, Immanuel Kant discusses his view on the desired
peace that is needed by the change on the current form of international politics. Kant s perspective
is that international politics is better off with change because people are by nature meant to change.
Without change in politics, peace can only be achieved by warbetween humans. In the Anarchical
Society by Hedley Bull, he claims that the current form of international politics need to remain the
way it is. Bull s idea states that international politics is needed because it protects the sovereignty
of a state. The main discussions that arise from Kant and Bull are the Balance of Power, the rights
of nations, international order based off life,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Private property has the idea of justice, sovereignty is similar in the fact that they have rights that
other states can t interfere in government or their way of life. We have the principal of territorial
states; we know what belongs to whom. This is the limitation of balance. Bull also believes that
World Order is how we conceive each other. International order assumes the existence of states.
The Balance of Power allows small states to limit big powers. Therefore, there is not a
preponderance of power, because every state still maintains their own laws and foreign policy.
The problem of maintaining a balance of power is not merely ensuring that a military balance
exists, it is also a problem of ensuring that there exists belief in it. (Bull 99) Similarly, the social
element is expressed when we have wars to enforce international law (especially to enforce third
party rights), or to preserve the balance of power: here again, the claim is that we have cases in
which states act as agents for the order itself. Bull believes that there are three functions of the
Balance of Power:
The existence of a general balance of power throughout the international system as a whole has
served to prevent the system from being transformed by conquest into a universal empire.
The existence of local balances of power has served to protect the independence of states in
particular areas from absorption or domination by a local preponderant

Thermo-Chemical Storage Systems Essay
Thermochemical heat storage can be physical (sorptive) or chemical based on the material used.
The storage system which does not involve the production of new compound is called sorptive
storage while those which involve formation of new compound are called chemical storage. The
successful thermochemical storage system is sorptive storage system that works on utilizing the heat
of reaction enthalpy. Thermochemical storage has considerable benefits when compared to sensible
and the latent heat thermal energystorage systems since it is easily controllable which prevents the
heat loss. The features of sorptive heat storage technology enables the implementation on a large

The features like increased storage capacity, decreased heat loss to the environment and flexibility
of heat storage over a wide range of temperatures makes the thermochemical storage system superior
to other storage systems.
The sorptive technology involves the absorption or adsorption of molecules through a reaction
thereby storing heat. This kind of sorption system results in the formation of physical bond
between the reaction pair, adsorbent (A) and adsorptive (B), which has a preferably high energy
turnover. The preferred reaction is mostly reversible in order to perform many charge and
discharge cycles.
A + B ↔ AB + heat (see Figure 2) Figure 2: Schematic diagram of sorptive thermal energy storage
technology
When charging the compound, heat is applied to substance AB which dissociate into separate A
and B molecule/compound. The storage is facilitated by using certain inhibitors that control the
reverse reaction. To release heat, the A and B components are reacted by removal of inhibitors,
ultimately favoring the reaction, resulting in the formation of compound AB and releasing heat.
During this cyclic process, when the reaction between A and B is prevented, the heat which can
be stored due to chemical energy cannot be released. The adsorbent such as zeolite (see Figure 3)
react with water thereby act as a sorptive storage material where adsorption of water

Introduction. Weathering Occurs Through Interaction Between
Introduction Weathering occurs through interaction between rocks, soils, and minerals and the
Earth s atmosphere, biosphere, and hydrosphere. Different types of weathering fall under three
general categories of weathering: physical, chemical, and biological. Tafoni weathering refers to
small cavernous holes and features that is found in granular rock. Typically, these features include
smooth concave walls and are adjacent with one another in networks. Tafoni weathering is a
subtype of weathering that falls under hydration weathering and ultimately under the larger
umbrella category of physical weathering processes. Fundamentally, this particular weathering
occurs due to a salt crystal expansion process where salt crystals or deposits... Show more content

Also, the Santa Monica Mountains also undergo Aeolian processes during particularly strong wind
activity such as Santa Ana wind events. Moreover, our primary focus area was restrained to about a
1 mile hike into the park and reached a large volcanic swimming hole. The swimming hole acted as
a boundary, but there are a few observations beyond the swimming hole that also contribute to this
weathering process. In a short distance beyond the swimming hole, there is a visible fault line.
Within the hike, the first observable evidence of tafoni weathering was about 40 minutes into the
hike. Passing a large rock archway, tafoni weathering was evident in the rock face of the archway as
well as the side of the mountains beyond this point. In addition to larger mountains, tafoni
weathering was also present in smaller hillsides. This particular type of weathering was also evident
in the mountains overlooking the swimming hole. The tafoni weathering observed in the mountains
around the swimming hole had larger cave like features than the mountains not directly touching a
body of water. Discussion Presently, there are studies conducted to better understand tafoni
weathering with several investigations and theoretical models but due to limited data available on
temperature, moisture and salt regimes it is difficult to

of High renaissance. Leonardo placed the balanced structure of pyramidal form of Jesus at the
mathematical center of the paintingto give utter stability to the painting. The use of one point linear
perspective, which is the hallmark of the Italian Renaissance style, makes the space three

Comparing Glass Menagerie And Eating Gilbert Grape
I think the relationship between Glass menagerie and Eating Gilbert Grape
are similar because Tom and Gilbert are alike the main characters in both
Stories. And why because Tom hates his life and he often goes to the movies
or the fire escape. Gilbert beats up his brother, Arnie, because he refused to
to take a bath, after that Gilbert left the house and drove off. Gilbert had enough
of Arnie and his responsibility of taking care of him, Gilbert just wanted to escape

Car Marketing And Driving Towards Sex
She is Used: Car Marketing and Driving Towards Sex
Sex? No, thank you; we are civilized, decent and socially appropriate for all ages. This is an
applicable response for any advertising medium until the end of the 1990 s perhaps. Fast forward to
the twenty first century and this notion can be blatantly disregarded. There is no doubt that
advertising plays is a proportional factor automobile sales and even if there this was not so, car
manufacturers believe that marketing helps. During the year 2012 alone, BMW spent
approximately 288 million dollars on advertising in the United States alone, according to
www.statista.com. It s safe to say that to brands like Bayerische Motoren Werke, this is definitely a
big deal.
Society has gradually and gracefully molded the minds of men to believe that something used is
unwanted and of an unfavorably lesser value. In a culture that has for so long been male
dominated, this philosophy has been adapted indiscriminately, even to apply to women. For
example, in tradition Italian cultures, a woman may be banished from her family and shunned by
her new husband if he suspects that she was not a virgin when they consummated their marriage.
Albeit, there are some that would rejoice to find that their sheets were not stained but this still
does not raise conformity. Italians are renowned for a bold compensation, the Ferrari brand, and
scores of men would desire owning one regardless of what the odometer reads. The automobile
industry has played a

Public School Vs. Home Schooling System
In society, people have their own techniques of teaching and learning. Parents have their own
preference on whether they want their children in a public school or home schooling system. They
have to look at the advantages and disadvantages that come with making the right choice for their
child s education. Being home schooled, does not give the child the ability to be around new
people. Some parents cannot afford for their child to be home schooled, and choose to have them
enrolled in public school. Having students in a public school has a better learning aspect and more
affordable.
Parents have to look at the optimistic choices that come out of their child attending a Public
school. Public school is a place for students to interact and communicate with their peers.
Students learn how to act with their friends, either in a negative or positive manner. They have
to learn to associate with a diverse culture of people. Children have to understand different
personalities because everyone is not the same. Parents have to be willing to let a child go out
and find their personality and some freedom. A public school offers advanced learning and skills
for children of all ages and disabilities. Public school allows students to have full attention and
extra help from their teacher. Especially if the child is having problems at home, they have another
adult person they can look to for help. They are given counselors that are specialized to assist
students with their difficulty either

Mondavi Procurement Management
Mondavi Procurement Management
Procurement is the complete process or action of acquiring or obtaining material, property, or
services at the operational level, such as purchasing, contracting, and negotiating directly with the
source of supply. Procuring goods and services is a larger process than just the label price of
wine; the process to buy those items includes major organizational costs, often accounting for half
of the product price. When allowing for the vast number of purchases Mondavi makes in a year, it
is easy to see how these costs can spiral out of control without careful management. This paper will

Several types of contract terminations exist including evergreen, rolling contracts and end of
contracts. Typically Mondavi uses End of Contracts , where once the contract tasks are completed
the contract is finished.
These contracts signed by Mondavi are often long term, whether they are dealing with grape
growers or equipment suppliers. An example of this took place in 1966 after Robert Mondavi
left Krug Winery. Mondavi met with several of Krug s grape suppliers and convinced them to
provide grapes for Mondavi s new company. Mondavi signed these growers to long term
contracts to provide Mondavi with the grapes he needed to produce fine wines in the years to
come. This was unique to the California wine industry, because most of the deals between
vineyards and wineries were handshake deals. Even in 1996, many small wineries were caught
off guard when Mondavi purchased Sierra Madre Vineyard; several of these small wineries had
handshake deals with Sierra Madre and could not purchase the same quantity of grapes from
Mondavi that they had grown accustomed to in the past from Sierra Madre (Berger, 1996). Robert
Mondavi has always done business this way, through a contract with specifications to the length and
details of the contract.

  • 2. Essay on Occupy Wall Street Movement The Occupy Wall Street Movement that began in New York Sept. 17 and has since spread like wildfire across the world has made an undeniable impact on the social and political climate of the Upper Midwest.| With various Occupy protest committees continuing to spring up across Minnesota and North Dakota, many working people in the region who, previously, might not have come together on other political issues say they have found common ground in the Occupy Movement. Union, non union, white collar, and unemployed workers are learning to work together towards severing, what protesters describe as, a dangerously cozy relationship between Wall Street and Washington D.C., that has undermined democracy in the United States and across the ... This diversity of grievances expressed in various Occupy locations has drawn criticism from some as evidence of a lack of focus within the movement. | | Its obvious what we re about, responds Nathan Ness of St Paul, an OCW activist who has participated in Occupy Movement actions in Minneapolis, Duluth and California. The Occupy Wall Street Movement is a movement protesting corporate greed. Corporate greed has many tentacles that people in the Occupy movement are focusing on. However, most of us agree that human beings, not corporations, should have the rights of personhood. Dave Bicking of Minneapolis, a former Green Party candidate for Minneapolis City Council, agrees: Over the years, we ve conducted countless demonstrations, lobbying efforts, boycotts you name it, trying to get specific demands addressed. The problem is: nobody is listening at the top. The system is completely rigged against us. There is a diversity of ideas in the Occupy Wall Street Movement concerning how, exactly, to deal with the corporate take over of our democracy. We don t always agree on every issue. But, the Occupy Wall Street Movement is about changing the fundamental way our system operates. We all seem to agree on that. The hydrological cycle is a never ending cycle that keeps us alive. The path begins with: Evaporation when water evaporates in the form of water vapor by the heat of the sun and enters the air. Transpiration Water enters the air when plants breathe in a process known as transpiration. Condensation the process which water vapor in the air turns into liquid and forms clouds. The oceans cover about 71 percent of the Earth which makes the ocean a key factor in storing and transferring heat energy around the world. Inconsistency in the heating of the earth gives rise to global wind patterns. Since the wind patterns are constant, the winds create steady movements in the water known as currents. When the air blows across the surface of a body of water, the water begins to move from small waves to larger waves. When the water starts to move it is subject to the Coriolis Effect (The Coriolis Effect, the pattern of the wind movement and the arrangement of landmasses are responsible for the large scale patterns of wind driven surface currents in the ocean) and begins to bend redirecting the water to the right of the direction of the wind in the Northern Hemisphere and to the left in the Southern Hemisphere. I was completely satisfied raising my son and being engaged in everything he was involved in. However, the closer it came for him to graduate from high school the more I began to think about what my new life would be like. I had to deal with the persisting question of what did I want to do with the rest of my life. Overall, I felt like I was a pretty decent mother, an awesome friend, a loving sister and I have a faith based foundation. Even with all those great attributes I still didn t know what my true purpose was here on earth. When I think of the questions easily, the first thing I thought of was philanthropy. Living a healthy lifestyle would be next. I m very excited about getting the chance to expound on my future in leadership and mentoring rolls. Next, I want to explore what full potential and purpose is and how can I be a positive impact on the world. Compare And Contrast The Renaissance Art And Paintings When looking at the paintings that were created throughout the Renaissance art period, there are multiple paintings that depict religious stories. The best of these paintings has Jesus depicted within them. The majority of these paintings were created by those who had a large impact on the art world today. One of the most famous paintings that reveals religion within it is The Last Supper by Leonardo da Vinci, which is similarly to The Wedding at Cana by Paolo Veronese. When analyzing these two pieces of artwork, they are often confused for the other due to the fact that they are both based on biblical stories as well as how they are organized. There have been multiple discussions about which painting has more impact based on their physical effect. Based on the color and imagery depicted in the painting, The Wedding at Cana, it is one of the most influential and inspiring stories ever told in a religious painting. The painting, The Wedding at Cana, was created in the year 1563 which was a mixed time between two art periods. This was during the end of the Renaissance art period and right in the middle of the Mannerism art period. The Renaissance was the most famous art period in which some of the most influential pieces of work were created. Sometimes the information that is contained in these messages is private and confidential, neither the sender nor the receiver wish any one else to be privy to what is contained in these messages. It would be very difficult to prove that someone intercepted a message that was not meant for them and read it. Another problem that comes with this act is that it does not protect the person from having their e mail read by an inside source . An inside source would include, their boss or another member of the company that they are working for, so someone in that position could reasonably read their e mail without having to worry about reprimands form the company. Courts have ruled that e mail sent via an office system is only private if the sender has a reasonable expectation of privacy when they send it. Again this can be pretty vague about what a persons reasonable expectation of privacy for their e mail means. What reasonable expectation means for one person may be very different for another, creating quite a problem in the company about what reasonable expectation is. Many companies now have policies for their employee e mail that states that it is not a good idea for a person to send private e mail through the companies system. It is also a know fact that if the company owns the system that the e mail is being sent through then they have the right to inspect and to read what is being sent. If a person wishes to avoid prying eyes they might wish to have an old fashioned face to face conversation when discussing something that is private. Some people today are ... High heat is generated at the interface due to friction between the tool and the workpiece, which can lead to a very poor workpiece surface quality and tool wear. For that reason, report showed that approximately 320,000 tons of lubricantwere used per year in the European Union [1] proving the importance of lubricant in machining application. Lubricant is divided into three categories that are neat oil, water soluble fluids, and gases [2], where the most common type of lubricant in machining application is the water soluble fluids. Nevertheless, improvement on the performance of vegetable oil can be done by utilising powder particles such as MoS2, graphite, boric acid, etc. Improvement can be seen from using powder particle aided lubricant in terms of surface finish, coefficient of friction, wear and cutting force [18]. This is because powder particle has lattice layered structure (Fig. 1), relatively high load carrying capacity and low steady state coefficient of friction [19]. Moreover, powder particle such as boric acid are environmentally friendly and do not pose threat to operational workers according to the Environmental Protection Agency, which is desirable in creating a greener lubrication in machining application ... A new movement is introduced for establishing Canada s name socially, economically, and politically in its global relations. Canada has experienced this in the face of newly elected Prime Minister Sr. Justin Trudeau. Particularly inquiring of the dialogues exchanged within the conversation between Sr. Justin Treadeau and a press reporter in regards to a taxpolicy change that appeared to have a concealed contentious issue. The PM s progressive plans aim to be for the wellbeing of Canadian society and building the pavement for a prosperous economy. Although Trudeau s interior motives may be for the common good, for example to combat inequalities and class hierarchies between the Canadian citizens, his plan however may only be justice for some citizens and unfairness for the others. Analyzing this argument in accordance to the Rawls principles of justice as fairness, and Locke s interpretation of individual rights and liberty to identify the rudimentary flaw in this exchange and the defense will be the aim of this paper. The exchange addresses Trudeau s new policy plan, which is attempting to give a tax break to the middle class by taking away from the upper class or high income citizens, which in essence seems to be resulting in resentment. On your tax plans, you talk about bringing people together but in some ways it seems it is divisive policy...... The reporter ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This book had a big role in shaping the business world. He was the first one who defined the term of strategic management. In this book the scholar tried to define in detail the strategic managementrole in companies. The aim of this was to develop a way where potential of the firm had to meet the firm s objectives. • 23. Leviathan By Thomas Hobbes Leviathan by Thomas Hobbes was written in 1651 to publish the political thoughts of Hobbes and promote his negative view to human nature. The story is interesting, because of the fact that even though it was written four hundred years ago, it can still be applied to society today. Leviathan consists of many sections promoting Hobbes beliefs, but the section in Perry s textbook is about the misinterpretation of equality of mankind. Hobbes wrote this to explain to the population the selfishness of humanity and to rid the world of power and corruption. However, Hobbes does not see much of a chance for humanity to actually treat each other equally. Instead, he splits the disagreements of mankind into three categories, first, competition; secondly, diffidence; thirdly, glory (21).... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Our natural instinct as humans is to become and want to become as powerful as we possibly can. He attributes this attribute to our desire for gain and to be the master of other people as well. It is easy to see this attribute in our world leaders like the President of the United States or any of the other leaders of the many countries on our planet. Another area of our society that this attribute of gain and selfishness, especially in the United States, is in the corporate world. Many of our powerful business leaders are driven by great and power over others, and this drive only proves Hobbes point about the naturally selfish nature of humanity. Looking back at the 1600, Hobbes time, the drive for man to compete was very relevant in leadership positions of countries. Many of the kings and dictators of history have been driven to compete by the drive to power. Each ruler is driven by their own specific reason to compete, but when push comes to shove, our nature is to compete for what we want, not to compromise for ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In the modern world, resources such as rare earth elements, oil, and water are always in demand. The United States of America alone consumes more resources and energy than it produces. But what about other nations? Some nations such as Japan, Great Britain, and South Korea are industrialized nations with many advantages over resources. Other developing nations such as Haiti, Ethiopia, Angola, and even Afghanistan are not as industrialized. Why? Many of the world s resources is almost unable to reach the most poorest and unindustrialized parts of the world. This can be due to factors such as hostile terrorists, lack of transportation, lack of basic necessities and so forth. Unequal distribution of resources is not just a world issue but the reason why this exists is because literally, resources are used more than what is produced and it cannot uphold the current population of over seven billion. The issues concerning unequal distribution of resources towards poor parts of the world won t stop others from solving this issue. There are already plans that are taken into action to help industrialize and strengthen the poor parts of the world. Names carry strong ethnics and religious connotations, and reveal an individual s affiliation to a specific group. They are able to capture and reflect upon one s unique culture, history, religion, and lineage. The sense of personal identity and uniqueness that a name gives us is why names interest us and are deemed so important to us as individuals. Unfortunately those of us who carry names that are hard to pronounce or are simply strange in the eyes of the western world, feel inclined to accommodate to much more Eurocentric names. In spite of their importance, the practice of white washing foreign names is dangerous. It affects all generations in a lineage from the past, present, to the future. Therefore, names have been homogenized for the convenience of the colonizer throughout history, can be seen in current social Chinese policies today, and consequently creates a homogenized legacy of children wearing white masks for future generations. • 34. The Social Structure Of The West 8th century and particular causes that explain why it was by far the most violent and the most universally significant of these revolutions. The first of the general causes was the social structure of the West. The feudal regime had been weakened step by step and had already disappeared in parts of Europe. The increasingly numerous and prosperous elite of wealthy commoners merchants, manufacturers, and professionals, often called the bourgeoisie aspired to political power in those countries where it did not already possess it. The peasants, many of whom owned land, had attained an improved standard of living and education and wanted to get rid of the last vestiges of feudalism so as to acquire the full rights of landowners and to be free to increase their holdings. Furthermore, from about 1730, higher standards of living had reduced the mortality rate among adults considerably. This, together with other factors, had led to an increase in the population of Europe unprecedented for several centuries: it doubled between 1715 and 1800. For France, which with 26 million inhabitants in 1789 was the most populated country of Europe, the problem was most acute. Voltaire [Credit: Stock Montage/Hulton Archve/Getty Images]A larger population created a greater demand for food and consumer goods. When providing care, it is the licensed practical nurses ethical, and legal responsibility to uphold a clients privacy and confidentiality. Ethically, nurses are also obligated to advocate for their patients, provide safety, establish a trusting nurse client relationship, and protect client information. In relations to the CLPBC Professional Standards of Practice for Licensed Practical Nurses as well as the Entry to Practice Competencies for Licensed Practical Nurses; this passage overviews how nurses maintain and promote the privacy and confidentiality of clients and client information, the actions to take when confidentiality is breached, and how nurses ensure that all information is collected, used, and disclosed on pertinent information. Understanding the difference between privacy and confidentiality is the first step for providing ethical, safe, compassionate, and competent care. Privacy entails the clients individual right to restrict any information from being disclosed. People tend to only share information to health care providers when they feel safe, and in control. Confidentiality, is the health care providers responsibility to keep enclosed, and private. Nurses should only share patient information to direct sources and when it is to be used for pertinent data. Providing a private and confidential environment will create a trusting ... • 43. Technology Opportunities in The Trucking Industry This paper is written to inform you about three technology opportunities that will make a positive impact on transportation. These opportunities will lead to more efficient transportation now and in the future. The first technological opportunity discussed is Truck Design; the design of the truck can make a difference in fuel cost. The second technological opportunity discussed is a Speed Governor System; this is a device in trucks that restricts the speed it can travel. The final technological opportunity discussed is the use of cloud computing; this is where information and software is shared on multiple devices. By the end of this paper you will know what great things can come out of these three new technologies and how they... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The new inventive designs of vehicles to make them more fuel efficient gives the industry a chance to lower prices because of a lower profit margin and that gives them the opportunity to be more price competitive. Providing better prices for services than other companies who do the same thing will bring in a lot more business to the company. More business is an opportunity to expand operations and invest in even more ways to save money and expand the company. With the inclusion of speed governors on trucks, trucking will be more gas efficient and safer. Gas efficiency will lead to great savings on fuel that will cut the cost of transportation. Speed governors are devices that put a limit on how fast a vehicle can go. The reduction of speed has big effects on fuel efficiency, It s a fact that slowing a truckdown by 10 miles per hour reduces fuel consumed by 15 percent (Graham, 2011). Fuel efficiency is not the only thing that comes from the use of speed governors; the trucks are safer, the equipment (such as tires and brakes) last longer, and the liability cost is lower (Road Safe America, 2009). With the placement of Governors on trucking vehicles, drivers will not be able to speed up past the pre set miles per hour by the trucking company. The Governor leads to trucking companies to be able to lower ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

A 90 year old veteran in Virginia, Carl was the last Tuskegee Airman to graduate from the famed school that produced so many heroic African American aviators. According to a recent article in the Washington Post, the U.S. Army issued Carl a train ticket for a Pullman sleeping car so he could get from Texas to Alabama for his military training in 1946. Carl recalled being told by the station manager that he and his fellow black soldiers were not allowed to use the Pullman. You have to go in coach, they were ordered. Threatened with jail if they resisted, the soldiers rode for 24 hours and were denied the use of the train s dining car as well. Despite the indignities, Carl would continue to treat his country better than many of his fellow citizens treated him. Carl would extend his military service for another three decades, serving in the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He would earn a Distinguished Flying Cross and 10 Air Medals and retire as a colonel. Air Force Staff Sergeant Brian McElroy and Tech Sergeant Jason L. Norton were military police officers. Unfortunately, they are unable to extend their military service. Their lives were tragically taken. • 46. Water Is A Vital Nutrient Needed For The Survival Of All... Water is a vital nutrient needed for the survival of all species. One quality of water that was observed in this lab is known as the hardness of water. Hardness is caused by the presence of polyvalent cations that dissolve in the water as it moves through soil and rock.1 The main minerals that give water a hard quality are Ca2+ and Mg2+ therefore, a sample containing a large concentration of calciumand magnesium is considered hard while a sample containing little or no calcium and magnesium is considered soft.3 Hard water is not harmful to the body but it proves to be a problem when dealing with daily household chores such as doing dishes, laundry, and even bathing. When combined with soap, hard water produces an insoluble precipitate, known as soap scum, that lessens the effectiveness of soap and requires more to remove.4 Hard water also interferes with industrial processes due to the formation of a precipitate known as scale. Scale tends to be found in pipes, boilers, and other devices used in industrial processes as it is formed when hard water is heated. This proves to be a major problem as the scale formation reduces the water flow, greatly decreases the heat transfer process, and eventually requires the metal in the devices to be replaced, which is a very expensive process. Therefore, many industries require the use of soft water to perform their everyday functions.2 The hardness of water can be measured in units of parts per million (ppm) or grains per gallon. ... The essay s first manifestation was as a lecture given at the Museum of Modern Artin March 1968, and was subsequently published in Artforum in 1972. Notably, it was also the title essay in Steinberg s book Other Criteria: Confrontation with Twentieth Century Art, of 1972. Steinberg s notion of the flatbed picture plane has several facets. In the Anarchical Society by Hedley Bull, he claims that the current form of international politics need to remain the way it is. We have the principal of territorial states; we know what belongs to whom. This is the limitation of balance. Bull also believes that World Order is how we conceive each other. International order assumes the existence of states. The Balance of Power allows small states to limit big powers. Therefore, there is not a preponderance of power, because every state still maintains their own laws and foreign policy. The problem of maintaining a balance of power is not merely ensuring that a military balance exists, it is also a problem of ensuring that there exists belief in it. (Bull 99) Similarly, the social element is expressed when we have wars to enforce international law (especially to enforce third party rights), or to preserve the balance of power: here again, the claim is that we have cases in which states act as agents for the order itself. Bull believes that there are three functions of the Balance of Power: The existence of a general balance of power throughout the international system as a whole has served to prevent the system from being transformed by conquest into a universal empire. The existence of local balances of power has served to protect the independence of states in particular areas from absorption or domination by a local preponderant ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The successful thermochemical storage system is sorptive storage system that works on utilizing the heat of reaction enthalpy. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The features like increased storage capacity, decreased heat loss to the environment and flexibility of heat storage over a wide range of temperatures makes the thermochemical storage system superior to other storage systems. The sorptive technology involves the absorption or adsorption of molecules through a reaction thereby storing heat. This kind of sorption system results in the formation of physical bond between the reaction pair, adsorbent (A) and adsorptive (B), which has a preferably high energy turnover. The preferred reaction is mostly reversible in order to perform many charge and discharge cycles. A + B ↔ AB + heat (see Figure 2) Figure 2: Schematic diagram of sorptive thermal energy storage technology When charging the compound, heat is applied to substance AB which dissociate into separate A and B molecule/compound. The storage is facilitated by using certain inhibitors that control the reverse reaction. To release heat, the A and B components are reacted by removal of inhibitors, ultimately favoring the reaction, resulting in the formation of compound AB and releasing heat. During this cyclic process, when the reaction between A and B is prevented, the heat which can be stored due to chemical energy cannot be released. In a short distance beyond the swimming hole, there is a visible fault line. Within the hike, the first observable evidence of tafoni weathering was about 40 minutes into the hike. Passing a large rock archway, tafoni weathering was evident in the rock face of the archway as well as the side of the mountains beyond this point. In addition to larger mountains, tafoni weathering was also present in smaller hillsides. This particular type of weathering was also evident in the mountains overlooking the swimming hole. The tafoni weathering observed in the mountains around the swimming hole had larger cave like features than the mountains not directly touching a body of water. Mondavi met with several of Krug s grape suppliers and convinced them to provide grapes for Mondavi s new company. Mondavi signed these growers to long term contracts to provide Mondavi with the grapes he needed to produce fine wines in the years to come. This was unique to the California wine industry, because most of the deals between vineyards and wineries were handshake deals.
