General Information
All submissions to be electronic in MS Word format with a
minimum of 20 typed words. All answers must be clearly
identified as to which task and question they refer to. All work
must be submitted through Learnzone.

a) Final Report
b) Logbook
c) Presentation
d) Workdetermined at progress meetings
Final Report
The final submission for the project will be in the form of an
electronic portfolio in MSWord format, 12point font for body
text, common font type and headings in bold.
The following MUST be included:
a) Contents page illustrating the structure of the document
content, with page numbering.
b) Executive summary: an overview of the project outcome and
its effectiveness in no more than 400 words.
c) Main body of the text, in appropriate sections to demonstrate
logical progression of the project, with key evidence to meet the
Learning Outcomes and Merit / Distinction criteria highlighted
in an appropriate fashion. Work from previously submitted
documentation should be incorporated where appropriate, along
with:
a. An outline of the problem to be solved
b. Possible solutions briefly specified
c. Chosen solution specified in detail
d. A detailed plan to implement the chosen solution which
includes time and resources (note resources include people,
information, equipment, and materials)
e. Results obtained and analysed in detail
f. Defined success criteria for the Project (including how this
will be monitored)
g. An evaluation of the Project against the success criteria
h. Further recommendations
i. An assessment of personal (or team) performance
d) Drawings, calculations and technical data to be submitted in
the form of Appendices; these can either be attached to the
Word document or submitted as separate Word documents on
the same date.
Logbook
This should be used to record any useful information on the
Project. It is intended to be rough and contain any errors and
mistakes made. The presentation and accuracy of the logbook
will not be assessed.
Presentation
The presentation will be in the form of a seminar event. You
will need to produce a poster for your project, which you will
present at the seminar.
Progress Meetings
Regular meetings will be held at set times and attendance will
be mandatory. Targets will be set and reports will be required
during these meetings, all of which are part of the unit
assessment.

  • 11. General Information All submissions to be electronic in MS Word format with a minimum of 20 typed words. All answers must be clearly identified as to which task and question they refer to. All work must be submitted through Learnzone. Deliverables a) Final Report b) Logbook c) Presentation d) Workdetermined at progress meetings Final Report The final submission for the project will be in the form of an electronic portfolio in MSWord format, 12point font for body text, common font type and headings in bold. The following MUST be included: a) Contents page illustrating the structure of the document content, with page numbering.
  • 12. b) Executive summary: an overview of the project outcome and its effectiveness in no more than 400 words. c) Main body of the text, in appropriate sections to demonstrate logical progression of the project, with key evidence to meet the Learning Outcomes and Merit / Distinction criteria highlighted in an appropriate fashion. Work from previously submitted documentation should be incorporated where appropriate, along with: a. An outline of the problem to be solved b. Possible solutions briefly specified c. Chosen solution specified in detail d. A detailed plan to implement the chosen solution which includes time and resources (note resources include people, information, equipment, and materials) e. Results obtained and analysed in detail f. Defined success criteria for the Project (including how this will be monitored) g. An evaluation of the Project against the success criteria h. Further recommendations i. An assessment of personal (or team) performance d) Drawings, calculations and technical data to be submitted in the form of Appendices; these can either be attached to the Word document or submitted as separate Word documents on the same date. Logbook This should be used to record any useful information on the Project. It is intended to be rough and contain any errors and mistakes made. The presentation and accuracy of the logbook
  • 13. will not be assessed. Presentation The presentation will be in the form of a seminar event. You will need to produce a poster for your project, which you will present at the seminar. Progress Meetings Regular meetings will be held at set times and attendance will be mandatory. Targets will be set and reports will be required during these meetings, all of which are part of the unit assessment. End of assessment brief
