What is Traditional
             Media?
           Traditional Media includes:

              Magazines

                                 Newspapers

(Other printed sources of information are included as well)
What is Digital Media?
     Digital Media Includes:

     The Internet
And?
The internet allows anyone’s voice to be heard
while traditional media uses only select voices.

(Also, our society’s change in reliance from traditional

to digital media is studied as well. )
Who uses it?
              Everyone!

Almost everyone who reads a newspaper or
reads news articles on the internet uses some
form of traditional or digital media.
So What?
It is important to study the
   transition from traditional to digital
media because of events such as the
   Egyptian Uprising.
What does that have to
         do with this?
During the Egyptian Uprising, the internet was
used as a tool in order to gain support in
       bringing down their oppressive government.*

*(a feat that would have been impossible for any form of traditional media to accomplish.)
Criticisms
Some people favor traditional media,
as it is more likely to be reliable
over digital media which (depending
on your source) can come from
anywhere.

However, censorship can play a big
part in traditional media with huge
news stories being covered up for
the sake of political gain, oppression,
                             etc.
Is That It?
               Pretty Much!

It is crucial that we understand the the pros
and cons of both traditional and digital
media and with a good balance of both we
can hope to have news that is unfiltered,
          factual, and available to all.
