Management is doing things right , leadership is doing the right things.
Peter F. Drucker , the one that is considered the father of modern management
stated the following :
Management vs Leadership
Management
Management in all business and
human organization activity is the act of
getting people together to accomplish
desired goals and objectives.
Every business entity or
organization, whether big or small,
needs to develop and implement the
basic four management function
Management comprises planning, organizing, leading or directing, and
controlling an organization or effort for the purpose of accomplishing a goal.
According to the management guru Peter Drucker (1909-2005), the basic task
of management includes both marketing and innovation.
Doing things right means taking
appropriate steps in order to achieve the
required objective.
Doing the right things means doing what
is good for the organization as well as for the
people.
Management is about arranging and telling. Leadership is about
nurturing and enhancing. (Tom Peters)
Leadership Our existence is based on a
constant fight, a constant struggle to
achive succes and in order to
acomplish it we ought to ensure our
development.
Leadership is about taking
responsibility, not making excuses.
Learning to walk from failure to
failure without losing enthusiasm is
the key to reach greatness.
The quality of a leader is
reflected in the standards they set
for themselves that’s why self
improvement is indispensable for a
true leader.
A leader is defined by his actions, character, competence, courage, compassion.
• Character allows him to make the right choices, a leader needs the ability to
see what other cannot, the sacrifices that must be made.
• Competence is the ability to know his job and what needs to be done.
• Courage is described as having the strength both mentally and physically to
do something that most people could not do.
• Compassion is important for a leader to have because when the people see
that he cares for them, they will be more trusting of the decisions that he
makes.
He is the one who knows the way, goes the way, and shows the
way, he has the capacity to translate vision into reality ,unlocking
people's potential to become better.
A great leader takes a little more than his share of the blame and
a little less than his share of the credit.
“Those who stand for nothing,
fall for anything”
