2. Cover
I started off with uploading the main
photo to the magazine, as you can see
here it is a picture of a person dressed
up as a DJ to go along with the genre of
my magazine, and it follows
conventions because its sort of in the
centre of the page and it’s the most
notable thing.
Then I added the ‘light’ effect onto the
background to give off a sort of club
sensation, or like a live gig. Then I added
the title, ‘beats’ which is relevant to
music. I went for vibrant colours with the
background and title so that it would
attract a young audience, whilst
following the conventions of a normal
dance magazine too.

3. Then I added the main title of the story in the
magazine, placed on top of the photo of the DJ
which also follows conventions of normal
magazines. Along the side of that I have the other
stories to attract a wider audience of people.
I also added more text onto the photo to stop
the laptop from looking plain, since its black I
had the advantage that it was already like a
background so it really made the text stand it
and it would be really eye catching, again these
texts are following the colour scheme and are
very vibrant.

4. There was a lot of space on my cover so I
filled it up with catch lines like, ‘The UK’s
No.1 dance magazine’ and adverts of
freebies to try get more people to buy the
magazine.
This is my final cover, I put the bar
code on and with a price too so then
it looks like a professional
magazine, this is what I’m happy with
after trying different things I think
that this is the best suited cover.

5. Contents
I started my content page off by adding a
green background, following the colour
scheme of the front cover and adding the
title of the page.
I then added some text next to the
contents title to take up the space,
and it was another story too so it
added variety. Then added the first
photo of my contents which is a
photo of the DJ

6. The second image and numbers of the
pages which they are on were then added,
with a bright red background behind the
numbers to make it really stand out.
Then went onto adding the final
bits to the contents which is the
actual stories inside with a brief
description and the page number at
the bottom right corner.

7. Article
With my article I decided to
go for a different colour
background, but still followed
the colour scheme with other
things like the text at the top
left and added the page
number at the bottom left
and right.

8. I then decided to add both
photo’s of the DJ that was on
the front cover, adding a glow
around the one with a laptop
on because the laptop is black
and it blended in with the
background.
Then I added the text that I already
done in a word document before
hand because I thought it would be
easier to insert.

9. This is my final article where I added ‘Written by…’ and the
name of the DJ along with the twitter of the DJ so then it gives
the audience a chance to get in touch with him, also a lot of
people have twitter so it attracts a very wide audience.
