K-5 teachers who are interested in increasing student collaboration in their classroom using Web 2.0 tools. The skill range of the participants will vary from beginner to expert.  Many will not be “Digital Natives”.
Based on the following: Professional development should respond to the everyday teaching needs of teachers. Teachers should be engaged in progressively more innovative forms of curriculum. Collaborative reflection is imperative as teachers evolve their teaching practices.
The professional development will focus on exposing teacher to several Web 2.0 tools that can be used for student collaboration.  Teachers will also be asked to be reflective about how these tools can be used in their classrooms.
Computers with internet connections Interactive Whiteboard/LCD projector Panopto (a lecture capture platform) Various Websites Weebly Wikispaces Moodle Google Docs
Participants will be evaluated on: Attendance at the first and last session of the professional development Their contributions to the weekly discussions held using the various Web 2.0 tools Their increased understanding of what Web 2.0 tools are and how they can be used in their instruction – as determined by their response to the before/after questionnaire
