                                 “Web 2.0 Tools and You”
Arlene H. Dawson and Juanita Douglas

Participant Information:

This staff development lesson is designed to share with teachers a variety of Web 2.0 tools that
they can use in their classrooms to enhance instruction and learning. We chose Web 2.0 tools
that are easily accessible and economical. We identified these Web 2.0 tools because they are
accessible through the Dekalb County School’s network. Since we recognized that to adequately
prepare students for twentieth first century learning, we must expose students and teachers to
technology on a daily basis. We selected the following tools: Voki, Wordle, and Voice Thread.
These simple tools can be used by teachers daily to enhance instruction and improve
communication and collaboration.

Standards:

ISTE/NETS Standards for Teachers
