This document outlines a professional learning plan for a teacher-librarian trainee. It reflects on experiences gained so far in areas like book circulation, promotion of reading, and research skills lessons. Key areas for further learning are identified as ICT skills, information literacy, and leadership. Specific goals within each area include gaining confidence using technologies like blogs and social media; understanding best practices for teaching information literacy; and observing teacher-librarians demonstrating leadership and managing library policies. experienced?
• Re-shelving, checking books in and out and
cataloguing new books.
• Promotion of reading.
• Assisting students in book selection.
• Research skills lessons (book-based).
• Lunch time in the library.
• Assisting teachers to gather resources.
• Book Week events.
• Working ethically and safely online. I have learnt
a lot in this area, particularly during the
production of this blog.
