Presentation from EARCOS Leadership Conference 2014 'Professional Development that works: Continuous and Ongoing Professional Learning in The Fish Bowl' #elc2014 by Ben Summerton and Steve Katz from Korea International School
The Fish Bowl - Professional Development that WorksBen Summerton
A presentation detailing the Professional Development model developed by the EdTech Department at Korea International School for presentation at Learning 2.0 in NIST Bangkok 2014. Presented by Steve Katz and Ben Summerton.
The document describes the fishbowl discussion structure. It involves multiple concentric circles of chairs, with an inner circle for discussing a topic while others in outer circles listen. Those in outer circles can tap someone in the inner circle to replace them and join the discussion, after which they must finish speaking and leave the inner circle spot. The fishbowl structure is meant for large group discussions and allows for exchanges between experts and others.
The fishbowl method is a discussion strategy where a small group of students sit in the center ("the fishbowl") and discuss a topic while the rest of the class listens in around them. It allows students to practice conversation skills and develop different perspectives. There are five main steps: 1) selecting a topic, 2) setting up chairs in a circle for the fishbowl, 3) preparing students, 4) discussing discussion norms, and 5) debriefing the discussion afterwards. The method provides greater interaction but requires ground rules to keep conversations focused.

This presentation summarises key observations and findings from the consultation and design aspects of One to World, through to it's implementation. The focus will then shift to examining how One to World has impacted student learning for our Grade 3 and 4 students participating in One to World, and how it is recasting the role of the teacher.
Presentation given to MBA students at Boston University School of Management's Internet Marketing class on June 21, 2010. Focus was on how big, established brands can succeed in this new environment of shifting demographics, social technology, and media proliferation.
Buzz groups are small temporary discussion groups of about 6 people who meet for around 6 minutes to discuss a topic. They are formed to generate ideas, solve problems, or reach agreement on an issue. Buzz groups allow for more participation than large group discussions. Members are tasked with appointing a spokesperson to report back the group's discussion. They are advantageous for preventing classes from centering around only a few voices and for drawing out quieter students. However, leader domination, poor environment, lack of preparation, and immature members can hinder productive discussion. Buzz groups are used by adults to decide meeting details and programs, and by students to save class time and discuss multiple aspects of a project simultaneously.

Small businesses need to be willing to change their current practices in order to grow, such as charging higher prices, developing partnerships with larger organizations, and providing excellent customer service to receive referrals from all clients. Business owners must also reevaluate their daily work and goals, and consider whether they need help from experts to grow their business to its full potential rather than trying to do everything alone.

How to Manage Reception Report in Odoo 17Celine George
A business may deal with both sales and purchases occasionally. They buy things from vendors and then sell them to their customers. Such dealings can be confusing at times. Because multiple clients may inquire about the same product at the same time, after purchasing those products, customers must be assigned to them. Odoo has a tool called Reception Report that can be used to complete this assignment. By enabling this, a reception report comes automatically after confirming a receipt, from which we can assign products to orders.

THE SACRIFICE HOW PRO-PALESTINE PROTESTS STUDENTS ARE SACRIFICING TO CHANGE T...indexPub
The recent surge in pro-Palestine student activism has prompted significant responses from universities, ranging from negotiations and divestment commitments to increased transparency about investments in companies supporting the war on Gaza. This activism has led to the cessation of student encampments but also highlighted the substantial sacrifices made by students, including academic disruptions and personal risks. The primary drivers of these protests are poor university administration, lack of transparency, and inadequate communication between officials and students. This study examines the profound emotional, psychological, and professional impacts on students engaged in pro-Palestine protests, focusing on Generation Z's (Gen-Z) activism dynamics. This paper explores the significant sacrifices made by these students and even the professors supporting the pro-Palestine movement, with a focus on recent global movements. Through an in-depth analysis of printed and electronic media, the study examines the impacts of these sacrifices on the academic and personal lives of those involved. The paper highlights examples from various universities, demonstrating student activism's long-term and short-term effects, including disciplinary actions, social backlash, and career implications. The researchers also explore the broader implications of student sacrifices. The findings reveal that these sacrifices are driven by a profound commitment to justice and human rights, and are influenced by the increasing availability of information, peer interactions, and personal convictions. The study also discusses the broader implications of this activism, comparing it to historical precedents and assessing its potential to influence policy and public opinion. The emotional and psychological toll on student activists is significant, but their sense of purpose and community support mitigates some of these challenges. However, the researchers call for acknowledging the broader Impact of these sacrifices on the future global movement of FreePalestine.
