The production plan summarizes the casting, costumes, props, settings, and filming schedule for a music video for the song "Somebody Told Me" by the fictional band The Killers. Ben Hollis will play the lead vocalist role, with Luca Abraham and Ben Potter as supporting band members. Abbie Dixon will play the girlfriend. Costumes were selected to represent the band's indie rock genre and style. Props include a microphone, electric guitar, keyboard, and amp. Filming locations include a stage, common room, street, and wasteland area over 5 days in October and November.
A Night of Swing re creates the authentic “vibe” from the best Jazz and Swing players of the 1920’s and 1930’s era. The music selected takes us through a chronological journey from the roots of Jazz.
2. CASTING
BAND MEMBERS:
Ben Hollis – Lead Vocals (Lead Role).
Luca Abraham – Lead Guitar/ Backing Vocals (Side Role).
Ben Potter – Keyboard. (Band Member).
EXTRAS:
Abbie Dixon – ‘The Girlfriend’.
3. COSTUMES
Ben Hollis – Red Polo Shirt, Jeans, Converse, Black Blazer.
Luca Abraham –Denim T-Shirt, Chinos
Ben Potter – Hooded Jacket, Graphic Top, Jeans, Vans
Abbie Dixon – Casual Urban Indie Wear.
We decided on these as our costumes because they will be able
to represent the bands indie rock genre and also the bands own
style. Also, by wearing this specific style of clothing, this allows
for the audience to see the youthful side to the band because
this clothing worn by rather young people. Furthermore, the
reason that the lead band member is wearing a blazer is too
separate him from the rest of the band; giving him a sense of
authority and power.
4. PROPS
We chose to use these instruments because they will connote the
indie rock genre to the audience immediately. They will do this
because these instruments are what you would stereotypically expect
to see in an indie rock music video. We appreciate that a drum set
would be more representative of the genre, however we aren’t able
to get hold of a drum set. Therefore we chose the keyboard because
this is also a very common instrument which a lot of bands use.
• Large Condenser Microphone
• Electric Guitar (Black Indie Style)
• Keyboard
• Amp
• Sofa
• Table
• Autograph paper
5. SETTING
• Stage – the stage location will be at Cromwell CC. We are using this stage in order to
connote to the audience the that the band are performing at a gig or perhaps
rehearsal.
• Room – This location is at the 6th form common room at Cromwell CC. We chose this
location so that the audience could get an small insight to the bands lifestyle before the
performance.
• Studio – This location will show us walking out of Cromwell CC into the car park. This
will hopefully give the audience the impression that we are walking out of a studio.
• Street- The street setting will be filmed in Chatteris. I chose to do this because by
gathering my research into similar products I saw that the arctic monkeys had a scene
where they were walking through a street. This allows the audience to get a further
insight to the band because they are seeing them in different situations.
• Background of Las Vegas- This will hopefully represent the urban style to the band and
also signify the popularity of the band because Las Vegas connotes success and money.
• Wasteland area – This location will be our second main location; along with the stage.
We chose this area because it represents the rough and unique side to the band. Also,
by doing further independent research into the band ‘The Killers’, I found that in their
video, ‘Human’ they use a deserted land and this had a great effect.
