To research music videos in their chosen genre and analyze conventions, the author used YouTube to view videos and PowerPoint, Word, or Popplet to print screen images and create presentations. They also used SurveyMonkey to create and distribute surveys to gather information about their target audience's interests. When creating an animatic for their music video, the author used an iPhone 5 to take pictures and the app Splice to compile the animatic, which was then transferred to a blog.

1. TECHNOLOGY USED IN MY
COURSEWORK
TECHNOLOGIES As part of my research I had to research other music videos in the
genre that I chose. To do this, I used ‘YouTube’ to view the videos
and then print screened images from the video to analyse on either

analysis of other videos because they were simple to use and were

I also used ‘www.surveymonkey.com’ to
conduct audience research in order to find out
what my target audience was and what their
interests were in a music video. I used Survey
Monkey because it is an easy to use website to
create surveys and this also allowed for me to
post my surveys onto social networks such as
‘Facebook’ and ‘Twitter’.
When creating the Animatic for my music video
I used the technology on an ‘iPhone 5’ because
this would widen my range of technology used.
I took pictures on the iPhone of the images
needed and then used them in a video creating
app called ‘Splice’. This allowed me to create
the animatic, which I then transferred to the
computer and then onto the blog.
