The production plan budget for the film will be around £20 to cover the costs of tourist-themed costumes, props like posters and staged photos, potential animal food rewards, and printing costs. Friends will play the lead roles unpaid to reduce costs, and the filmmaker will handle equipment and transportation. The planned release date is March 22nd to avoid summer blockbusters and seasonal events. Legal issues around copyrighted music and footage as well as potential underage actors will be addressed through free music sites, owning self-created content, and permission slips. The film will aim for a U certificate classification by avoiding inappropriate content.

5. PLANNED BUDGET
My budget for this film is ideally going to very little. I’m going to hire the equipment
which won’t cost me anything. In terms of costume, the costumes are very naturalistic,
so can be clothes the actor’s already own, therefore reducing the costs further.
However I will have to buy some ‘tourist’ themed costume items and props (i.e. hats,
tacky shirts etc.) so I will take this into account for the budget. There may be a small
cost for props as I will have to print out some posters, therefore having to spend
however much on printing. I will also have to print and take some staged photos to
use as props which I quite cheap (under £10 to print these photos and nothing to take
them) so this will be accounted for in the budget. In addition as I’m working with
animals I may have to budget for any food to use as rewards or prompting for certain
scenes, although again this should be quite low cost and around £5. Any other props I
can borrow free of charge from friends and family. Therefore the budget will be
around £20.

6. CAST AND CREW
Cast – I will use a friend for the roles of the pet owner (Kelly) and the protagonist
(Sam). This is because I can use them for free, rather than add to my total cost by
paying professional actors. In addition to this they will be able to coordinate their
schedule around the film schedule more easily. They will likely be more willing to film
for me too. Sam will be a younger person around my age and I will use an older
person (friend or family) for the role of Kelly.
Crew – I will be the main crew member to set up and put away the equipment, and
will be the main mode of transport for myself. This is because this is the cheapest and
most convenient option for my timescale and budget.

7. EXTRA DETAILS
• The release date will be 22nd March as this is a good time between summer and winter, and
gives a realistic timescale to produce my film. As it’s not a winter/Christmas themed film it
helps that it is slightly later than December. As it is filmed inside, the outside weather
doesn't affect it too much as well. Additionally I will be releasing it just before summer to
avoid competition of big summer blockbusters.
• This also doesn’t clash with any seasonal events and there are no local events to detract
from the release.
• If there are any scheduling arrangements that don’t workout I will have backup dates to
make sure that filming can go ahead. I will also have a backup memory card to store my
footage. In addition I have set a budget in order to not overspend.
• Some legal issues that may come up could be around a potential under 18 actor and any
copyrighted products. To resolve this I will have permission slips for under 18 actors, and
only get sound and music from non copyrighted sites.

8. LEGAL REPORT
• The main legal issues will come from filmed footage, studio title logo sequence,
additional video footage found online, special effects and musical score. I will create
the filmed footage and studio logo myself meaning I will own them. Due to this I
will have to copyright them to prevent others from using them in future. It won’t
impact the use of them as I won’t need permission to use them. I won’t be using
additional found footage in my film or found special effects in my film as I want it to
be quite naturalistic. However if I were it would impact my use of them in the film as
id have to get permission from the owners of this content. For my musical score I
will be using music from a copyright free website (like bensounds.com) as it allows
you to use their free music as long as credit is given. In order to do this I will simply
need to credit the musical source in order for permission to use.

9. ETHICAL REPORT
• The certificate for my film will be a U as it will be available to watch for all ages
(unrestricted). This is because there will be no violence, graphic imagery, nudity etc.
The BBFC (the board who decide classification of films) say a U must contain no
discrimination, drugs, imitable behaviour, language, nudity, sex, threat or violence.
We have to adhere to the guidelines set out by the BBFC (British Board of Film
Classification) as they’re in charge of classifying films. This is important as it helps
viewers of films know how suitable a film is – especially in the case of children or
sensitive viewers. If everyone follows the same guidelines it makes the system more
universal and therefore consistent and easy. My content is not likely to offend or
upset anyone as it includes no offensive or upsetting plot lines/imagery. My trailer
will be shown online (on the website Short of the Week) and I will adhere to their
upload policy in order not to have any legal impact on the showing of my film
