This document summarizes a product design and semantics project done by Swadha Jaiswal at the National Institute of Design, Bangalore campus. The project involved understanding semantics of products in context, applying this to concept and design development. The project focused on designing an entertainment product for upper middle class families. Research on existing products and Indian audiences led to the concept of a karaoke radio - a tabletop radio that plays stations and displays song lyrics to allow users to sing along. Different conceptual designs were explored before selecting a 'Basic Shapes' concept. The final design incorporated controls, screen and other elements.
