Privacy And The Public Eye
Imagine a world where everyone's privacy was honored, there would be absolutely no screenshots
sent out regarding another person's private information, no celebrity hacks or stealing their
information for the latest magazine article, and no identity theft of any kind. Now think about how
people could gain all of this freedom? We would have to stop letting ourselves fall victim to
something much bigger than what we think and how badly things could go if some of our
information ends up in the wrong hands. Nothing maintains its privacy once it is put on the internet,
so users need to be mindful of what they reveal online; anyone can take the information and make it
their own once it becomes open to the public eye. People are so quick to put personal information on
the web that they do not stop to think about the potential consequences of their actions. Privacy
concerns represent what individuals believe happens to their information once it becomes open to
the public. People unknowingly open themselves up to being profiled online and get making online
purchases, that they are getting their information and money stolen before they can even bat an eye.
This does not happen in all cases, but it happens enough that we should be more careful of what we
open ourselves up to. When studies have been conducted there are typically two tools used: concern
for information privacy (CFIP) and Internet user's information privacy concerns (IUIPC). The first
tool that was created was CFIP.

Breastfeeding Of The Public Eye

Breastfeeding in the public eye
A mother is one who has endless love for her children. She serves as a protector, a provider, and a
friend to say the least. She is selfless. She makes sacrifices. All in the name of protecting and
providing for what she knows is her most precious gift from God. Many would agree that being a
mother is the hardest but most rewarding job a women will ever have. Hardest because this world
has established many barriers for mothers; logistical, social, and political.
One of the biggest barriers mothers face nowadays is breastfeeding and or pumping in public but
most importantly breastfeeding in public. Aside from being physically exhausting and many would
say an extremely hard task, nowadays mothers also have the pressures of returning to work earlier
and that is causing a lot of stress for mothers. The problem is that in this day in age it's not allowed
in many places, not even considered in some and still a huge disapproval in many work places. My
arguments for this paper are that people aren't aware of their right to breastfeed in public and the
current legislations that allow them to do so freely in their state; this can be the reason why it's just
socially unexpected and or frowned upon. Second, people don't really understand the true benefits of
breastfeeding vs bottle feeding because if they did many people would oppose to feeding a hungry
baby whenever and

Taking a Look at Body Art
Research Assignment (Body Art) Body painting is a certain form of art that continued with humans
through the ancient times to the modern day times, where artists use the human body as canvasses to
show beauty like no other style of artwork can. African, European, Asia, and Australian tribes have
shown records that body painting was used. The tribes were using pigments from plant leaves and
fruits to decorate themselves because body art was an important part of their lives. Body art would
represent qualities of the people, goals for life, gods, and many war themes. The first full body
painting arose in 1933 of a naked model in Chicago. Body painting spread out during the 1960's
when hippies began the movement in the United States. It is important to clarify that body painting
is not just applied to nude bodies, but also can be applied to pieces of skin. Alexa Meade is a very
skilful artist and has a certain style and view of body painting herself. Alexa was born and raised in
1986 in Washington, D.C. In 2009, Meade graduated from Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, NY
majoring in political science. Meade received her bachelor's degree, but never attended art school.
Meade was forced to teach herself how to paint, which started at the age of 15. When interviewed,
Meade stated, "I didn't have to think of painting as this thing on canvas, because I didn't have any
practice doing that. I just saw paint as something that can be used in space." When just beginning,
Meade's studio

Sensory System Essasy
The Sensory System & Sensory Disorder
The sensory system is the system the lets the human body experience life it is responsible for
processing information. The system consist of receptors, neural pathways, and parts of the brain.
The most recognize sensory are vision, hearing, taste, and smell. The sensory system is a component
that is used to process sensory information. The receptors collect information that is called sensory
information and it may lead to conscious awareness and when it does is called sensation. These
receptors are called stimulus when this stimulus gives an electrical response is called stimulus
transduction. The receptors are the peripheral ending of sensory neurons and they function by

million olfactory receptors compared to 4 billion in a bloodhound. Bloodhounds can track the path

The structure of the eye has a ciliary body is an extension of the choroid layer. It functions with the
suspensory ligament to attach and support the lens. The aqueous humor is a watery material between
cornea and lens. The vitreous humor is gelatinous material within the eye.Focusing by the lens is
called accommodation, focusing in humans is done by changing the shape of lens with ciliary
muscles. These muscles are part of the ciliary body. The ciliary muscles surround the lens they are
attached to the lens by suspensory ligaments. When distant objects are viewed, the ciliary muscles
relax, putting tension on the suspensory ligaments. The taut ligaments pull the lens, causing it to
become thinner. Nearby objects cause the ciliary muscle to contract, reducing the tension on the
suspensory ligaments and allowing the lens to assume a thicker shape. The cornea bends light but
the lens finishes focusing. As a person ages, their ability to focus their lens decreases. Glasses can
correct for this loss of focusing ability. Focusing occurs when the eye is too long and the plane of
focus is in front of the

Keyhole Surgery Research Paper
During the 20th century, a new concept was introduced to the surgical world: Keyhole surgery.
Surgeons began to look for procedures that did not require large incisions (which would result in
large, visible scars.) and fewer incisions; hence the term "keyhole surgery". In 2008, a case of brain
cancer was treated using a laser in keyhole surgery. Eyes were heavily relied on by surgeons for
centuries; they were only able to diagnose a disease through surgical expertise and eye recognition.
However, the development of diagnostic tools (imaging technology) has helped surgeons recognise
deformities without having to cut incisions to a body. For example, a scintigraphy (fluorescent
imaging) would be able to identify cancerous cells in a particular area. Cancerous ... Show more

This robot would be put inside a person's body and the surgery would be performed through a
remote control, used by a surgeon down on Earth. Being able to develop such technology would
allow surgeries to not only be able to be conducted in space, but also in remote areas on Earth.
Robots also allowed extremely intricate and complex surgeries to take place; surgeries that man
can't perform. After thousands of years, the advance in surgery has clearly proven to be remarkable.
Countless lives have been saved from operations and the continuity of research would increase this
value.
Working conditions and environment:
Surgeons either work in a private practice or a public hospital. They should expect to spend most of
their career indoors. These medical professionals spend time many settings: consulting rooms,
operating theatres, wards and special units (e.g. emergency). Surgeons are required to travel between
offices and hospitals in order to address their patient's

George Seurat Essay
Impressionism takes the moment at hand and depicts it with light and color. George Seurat was
influenced by Impressionism using modern subjects and urban leisure scenes. He used color
characterizing of Impressionism but also made arrangements based on color theory. Seurat wanted
to capture all the colors that interacted to make their own appearance which differed in thought to
Impressionism of putting colors next to each other to create colors that blended optically. Seurat
helped move Impressionism into Post–Impressionism by developing a systematic structured way of
painting.
Seurat was influenced by Cheverul who figured color "impose its own complementary on its
neighbor." Seurat worked with Signat to start on color experiments. He looked ... Show more

The way the sun pours down on the people, the rest of the canvas basks in the sun whereas the
shadows are a darker green hue on the lighter green grass. The way the sun is portrayed, it looks as
if it's mid–afternoon. Seurat's pointillism shows the light coming from the left onto the people and
objects. The trees show the special blending effects of the colors. To the left of the painting, the use
of white creates a light and as the eye moves to the right, it blends into the color of the greens of the
trees. Here, Seurat is placing white and green next to each other. The brushwork of the painting is
dotlike with the dots varying in size and shape. These individuals dots blend together into one scene.
The painting's perspective is to the left with the people all looking that way toward the river. The
people in the front of the painting are closer to the eye. The woman in the front and that man
walking with her are the biggest figures in the picture. These sizes help balance the artwork. Lines
were mostly avoided with the use of shading for a softer effect.
Seurat's painting is one of the most reproduced paintings. Initially, pointillism was not received well
as this new painting style was like nothing else and the general public did not receive it well. A
Sunday on La Grande Jatte was the first painting to be painted entirely in pointillism which changed
the way art was viewed from Impressionism to Post

The All Seeing Public Eye By Derek Wallace Analysis
Summary response The all –Seeing Public Eye In an article entitled "The All– Seeing Public Eye" in
Berkeley City College, Derek Wallace discusses cameras and recording skills beyond personal
experiences. Wallace maintains that it's necessary to utilize the resources as cameras and videotapes
properly, because it has huge power over society, that using in a better way it could collaborate to
change weaknesses that this world has. Moreover, he argues that cameras are special tools in
political matters that people have the dominions and should be them in a way that it helps
themselves and not politicians and media stream. Finally, Wallace concludes that people have a big
instrument over their hands, and it good uses could help to transform the world.
Media stream.
I agree with Wallace's point that it's important to use technology's features such as cameras and
video recording to make differences in the world and it could help to change some big roles that
personages such as politicians and media have nowadays. Thinking about my camera; I just realized
that it's my first accessory on my smartphone that I constantly using. It always is with me, ... Show

as TV, radio or Internet uses us as first resource. I remember the news when they report something,
and then they show videotape from someone from the street. Now this is the trend because we are
the ones who are living the real life. According to Wallace "Without our video clips, mainstream

The And Their Identity Of The Public Eye
and their identity in the public eye. Within a physical classroom, relationship with students, learning
outcome and decision–making process are major concerns that teachers need to constantly take into
account in the classroom practice (Calderhead, 1981).
The power of teacher in an education
One of the teacher's powers involves a wide range of activities relating to classroom management
and teaching effectiveness. Since the role teacher plays in the education is crucial owing to the direct
interaction with the students and the teaching context on a regular basis, educational research have
started to shift the focus on teachers' voices as an insiders' contribute to the effective implementation
of educational policies and reforms.
"Teachers ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Teacher and educators negotiate their positions within the working context they are in. In fact, "
[r]ather than those who work there fitting themselves to the requirements of the situation, there are
number of very important way in which the institution has to take account of the interest of the
employees and fit itself to them" (Dale, 1981 cited from Apple 2012: 120).
The power of teacher, as this research contends is more sophisticated than the 'social power of
teacher' model drawn in Shah and Inamullah (2011). Based on the five bases of power (French and
Raven, 1959), the authors advocate the social power of teacher is formed with a constituent of
expert, referent, legitimate, reward and coercion power. However, teacher's power is exercised not
only to deal with what happens inside in classroom, but also their autonomous actions when
contradicting with the control status quo in their outside–classroom context. This source of power
has been pinpointed and analysed mainly in educational reform or classroom management research,
namely, 'defensive teaching' (McNeil, 2000), indicating the power of teacher to engage teaching
strategies to strictly stick to the school knowledge rather providing students with the richness of the
subject fields.

Social Responsibility And Its Impact On The Public Eye
Reputation Management
WebFinance 2016 defines Repman as activities performed by individuals or organisations with the
goal of creating a certain image or representation of themselves in the public eye. Eisenegger &
Imhof 2008 endorse this definition as they explicitly state that Reputation can be used to measure a
business' activity and they also state that a lot of Repman isn't actually seen but carries a lot of
weight within that image perception. They state that there are 6 dimensions of reputation that have
varying impact depending on the sector applied. The dimensions are Product & Services, Financial
Performance, Vision & Leadership, Workplace Enviroment, Social Responsibility and finally
Emotional Appeal.
These 6 dimensions are favourable to CP as their variety allows for more competition and power
distribution without the interference of higher powers (in theory) furthermore it allows for more
individuals to gain power through the discussion and co–operation that comes from self–
representation.
The opposing view to this is suggested by Power 2004. He proposes that politicians should take a
more active role, especially when it concerns the issue of public representation and reputation
perception. He goes so far as to remark on the actions of the British government as "Organised
Paranoia" in this regard. This view opposes one of the core values of CP in that it touts that the
government should be a regulatory body and interfere as little as possible.

School Bus Safety Campaign : An Exciting Time For Many...
Going to school is an exciting time for many young students. The first time getting on a school bus
for your first day of school can be scary yet exciting. Many students are anxious about how their
first day of school is going to go and worried about getting lost. What most kids don't think about
are the dangers of distracted or unlawful drivers as they get on or off of a bus. The illustrator of the
visual I chose uses context, purpose, color, movement, and text to trigger an emotional appeal from
the viewers. The use of those aspects helps persuade drivers to obey traffic laws.
The Government of Alberta's Office of Public Safety recognized this visual as its campaign title in
2011. It was designed by Calder Bateman Communications and displayed in a public newsletter for
its school bus safety campaign. Calder Bateman Communications received three distinct awards
listed as Poster Single, Public Service Print, and Art Direction.
CBC used Figure 1 for a public safety campaign sponsored by the Office of Traffic Safety in Alberta
Canada. It was used among other images to display the danger drivers put themselves and others in
every day when they start up a vehicle. The image was used for bus safety to make people aware of
the dangers drivers put children in if they don't stop for red flashing lights. This image was among
others that promoted public safety and obedience to traffic laws in the topic of commercial drivers,
bicyclists, distracted driving, and recreational vehicles.

Benchmark Exercise Analysis
In the presentation skills classes that our firm coaches, we begin with what we call our "Benchmark"
exercise. Participants, one at a time, stand in front of the group and tell us about themselves,
speaking for no more that a minute or so. We tell them that we'll be observing objectively what they
do with their eyes, what they do with their hands, and how they stand when they speak.
We're also listening to the speed at which words come out of their mouth, and we're listening to their
volume and inflection. By volume we mean the amount of air passing through the larynx, and
inflection being changes in pitch and tone. Finally, we're listening for non–words, those umms and
ahhs and y'knows and so forth that many people use to fill up any dead ... Show more content on

Just about everybody has heard this bit of advice sometime in their public speaking education. And
it's true; when you get up and speak in front of the group, you want to look to everyone in the
audience. (In the case of very large groups, you at least want everyone in the audience to believe
that throughout the presentation you were spending considerable time looking at just them. Happily,
when you're presenting correctly, this happens all by itself.)
The problem is, although we were told what to do, we were never really told us how to do it. As
result, whenever we see people speak for the first time in class, we observe the phenomenon that we
call "Aerosol Eyes". The speaker gets up in front of the room and immediately begins to spray the
audience with his vision. Back and forth, back and forth, rarely holding eye–contact for more than a
second at a time. And that is the average – one second. Often somewhere between a half a second
and a second.
You might have noticed in your experience that some people actually don't hold eye–contact at all.
When speaking to groups, some people tend to look down the whole time (hoping there are notes on
the podium or the floor). Sometimes they look up to heavens (hoping they'll find divine

A Short Story : A Story?
I stepped out from the corner, my rifle up and at the ready as I aimed down sights and swept the
length of the dusty, dimly lit hallway. Slowly, cautiously, I panned the barrel of my weapon back and
forth– over filing cabinets standing alone or fallen on the floor, across small tables stationed near the
doors leading into the classrooms lining the hall... nothing. It was empty. But it didn't feel that way.
My wrists itched. I didn't know what had me on edge, but not long after we'd hit a bust on the first
few room's Blasto and I had gone through something had just felt... off. I'd been somewhat
expecting to encounter more of the big mutants, or maybe other people scavenging for something,
but– I snapped my rifle up and to the end of the hall as something interrupted the light coming in
through a non–boarded up window... I blinked. It was nothing, and that was the problem. "My offer
still stands you know." Blasto singsonged, floor creaking as he stepped up behind me and I stepped
aside to let him walk past with the looming Orkan, his hard case swinging as he loped along. I just
rolled my eyes and followed as he made for the first door in the hall. "For the last time, I'm not
smoking with you." "You're too high strung, though. You're getting paranoid. One hit isn't–" "No is
no, not even to 'take the edge off'," I interjected. "Besides, if you think I'm being paranoid then why
do you have your revolver out," I shot back. "Because there's being paranoid, and then there's

Eye and Spine Health Essay
Eye and spine health are a core elements of comfort. They are usually disregarded when people sit
down to use computers, tablets, and smartphones. Many people that have jobs that require them to
sit in front of computers for extended intervals of time do not think about their back and eye health.
Technology has also infiltrated itself into classrooms, which is a large risk because many students do
not consider their back and eye health. Eye health is usually not taken into account, but it should
also be a very large factor in how much time we spend in front of technology. The health of the eyes
and back are a large part of living comfortably. Now that new technologies are readily available to

There are now more jobs and schools that are focused on electronics and online learning. This
mainly effects the eighteen to twenty nine year old demographic the most (Pew, 2013). They are also
the demographic that have admitted to suffering back pain. The use of technology in this age is
unavoidable. Many people think that back pain is a normal occurrence; however special care should
be take when using technology, and is often ignored, however it can be a sign that there are more
severe, underlying problems. On one hand, I understand that this new generation is being raised
amid a myriad of technological advances, and avoiding them would be very difficult. But on the
other hand, I still insist that we consider how much time we spend in front of these devices. In other
words, limiting the time that we spend in front of computer screens can improve our eye and spine
health. My point is not that computers are the sole source of spine and eye detriment, but that
computers and tablets should be enjoyed with caution. Many people assume that the worst that can
happen from overuse of technology is a little headache and a small amount of back pain. This is
simply not true. My point is that our bodies have been slowly changing to fit our computer usage,
and we are doing this unsuccessfully.
Using technology in the classroom can also be an issue if the proper measures are not taken to
protect the spine health of students. The enjoyment of tablets and computers is very common, and

Public Eye on Sexual Offenders Essay example
Public Eye on Sexual Offenders In preparing for this essay it has been identified that sexual
offenders are not a homogenous group of individuals and that this is an umbrella term used to
describe a range of behaviours ranging from acts of voyeurism and exhibitionism, to more serious
acts of pedophilia and rape. For the purpose of this essay I have chosen to focus on the more serious
forms of sex offending which in my opinion, are the cause of much of the current attention. In order
to understand why sexual offenders attract so much attention I will begin by considering today's
society and the emergence of post–modernist values and the preoccupation with risk. I shall then go
on to consider ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It was during the period of "modernity" which stems back to the 18th century, that notions of
tradition, feudalism and superstition began to be replaced by reasoning, science and exploration.
There was a move away from harsh penal conditions and a move towards reforming individuals. It
was during this period of modernity that there existed societal consensus and a general air of
optimism which generated high levels of trust and respect for people in authority. During the mid–
1980s post–modernism emerged as an area of academic study, and it is this which currently
describes today's developed world. Attempts have been made to chart the shift from modernism to
post–modernism, however this is largely attributed to the work of Ulrich Beck and what he
describes as the emergence of a 'risk society' (Beck 1986). Beck argued that the public are
constantly being "confronted with socially created risks which endanger survival" (Beck 1986, p32).
He saw one of these being globalisation, whereby communication is now effortless, thus increasing
the risk of messages being distorted and information saturated which hence has the potential to
perturb (Beck, 1986). Another was the creation of moral panics, first introduced by Stanley Cohen in
his book "Folk Devils and Moral Panics" in 1972. He identified a

The process happens so the light that passes through can refocus on the retina in the back of the eye
which is another important reason our eyes work the way they do. The retina in the eye is a thin
layer of tissue in the back of the eye that has millions of light–sensing nerve cells that are called
rods and cones that help us see. The cones are located in the center of the eye that provides clear,
sharp central vision in bright light conditions. The rods are located on the outside of the macula right
next to the cones which provide us with side vision and peripheral vision. The rods allow us to see
dim light at night, and detect when things are in motion. We use need rods and cones to be able to
see the objects we see every day. Last but not least, the optic nerve, right next to your blind spot

When going out on a date, people usually dress up decently to present themselves as a charming
individual. Besides fashionable clothing, most people groom themselves with the aid of cosmetic
products that shows their concern for their facial appearances. Although most are satisfied with
cosmetic disguises, some people want to appear to be more attractive by changing their appearance

Different surgeries were found to reconstruct body deformities before the establishment of the
American Association of Plastic Surgeons (AAPS) in 1921, mainly used to treat injured soldiers
(Haiken 18). The AAPS is an organization that aims to improve the profession in plastic surgery.
Subsequently, people began to raise concerns regarding the influence that these surgeries would
have if they could be done on, besides medical, a cosmetic scheme. Eventually, the first nasal
operation was done to improve an "exaggerated Roman nose," followed by the rise of various
cosmetic surgeries including artificial iris implantation (Haiken 20). More people began to create a
budget for getting the surgery done. Most cosmetic surgeries derived from surgeries that were
created for patient treatments. Artificial iris implantation becomes one of the surgeries that were
suggested to perform cosmetically. In spite of receiving Conformitée Européenne marking which
allows the surgery to be operated in the European marketplace, the U.S. Food and Drug

darkness. It was difficult to understand how someone could lose their eyesight and with it lose so
much more. As I grew older, I learnt his vision loss, which had caused permanent blindness, was due
to a condition called Glaucoma. Being a victim of a curious mind, I tried to research and understand
this condition which affects the eye. It was then when that spark of interest in the anatomy of the
human eye and the conditions and many pathologies which affect it, arose inside of me.

Advertising : Advertising And The Uses Of Advertising
Since the early 1800s, advertising has been crucial in shaping the people's minds. The uses of
advertisements in a modernized society include presenting problems to the public and asking for
help solving such problems in a people friendly way. Corporate companies also utilize
advertisements to prompt people to purchase their product; however, there are also companies that
use advertising as part of a nonprofit campaign to reveal the truths of verbal abuse, physical abuse,
climate conservation, and other deeds that the government often shields the public from.
In 2009, Euro RSCG published the advertisement being discussed along with other images. This
organization presented 3 images in its nonprofit campaign; the effects of verbal abuse and more
specifically, the effects of verbal abuse on children were the center of each image. The campaign
displayed powerful emotion as well as a powerful message through each of its images, but one
image seems to be especially designed to capture one's attention.
Verbal abuse has no set destination. This idea is presented well in the image as it has no specific
background. Instead the artist chose to apply a gray covering to the background. Though to the
majority the color of the covering may have no significant meaning, to others having a gray
background signifies a depressing or emotionless setting which is definitely presented throughout
the ad. Another reason that the artist may have chosen to use such a neutral tone for the background

Essay about Macular Degeneration
Macular Degeneration
Condition:
Macular Degeneration is a problem in the part of the eye that controls your sharpest central vision. It
is a group of diseases that result in a loss of detailed vision. The brain will not just leave the spot
empty, so it learns to fill it in with spotty macular cell damage. People most of the time don't tell
their doctors (opthalmologists) about it until it is well in advance.
There are two types of Macular Degeneration. Juvenile Macular Degeneration affects the central
vision in young children. This takes place in the macula, or the central region of the retina. The
retina is where we are able to read and to distinguish colors. The main symptoms ... Show more

Wet Macular Degeneration causes more severe loss of vision. Dry Macular Degeneration is the age–
related type. There is no proven cure for dry Macular Degeneration.
Cause:
Basically what my research is stating is that there is a major genetic component that contributes to
this disease. There are three general types of hereditary Macular Degeneration. The first is called
early onset. This is when you get it when you are four years of age up to seven. In this type both
parents and their children can be affected. This means it is dominantly inherited. Most of the time
this is called Best Disease or Viteliform Macular Degeneration.
The second type is called middle onset. This is from five years of age up to twenty years of age.
This type is called Stargarett's disease. This is the Juvenile Macular Degeneration. This type is
recessively inherited. Meaning that this type can appear even if only a couple family members have
it.
The third type is called late onset. This is when you get it in your thirties or forties. This type may
have dominant or recessive inheritance.
Really the cause of Macular Degeneration is unknown. Recently researchers have discovered that a
group of genes called ABCR contribute to the disease. When someone has these genes the likeliness
of this person to form Macular Degeneration increases by 30 percent. In most situations Macular
Degeneration is

Pros And Cons Of Travel Films
The Pro's Guide to Shooting Better Travel Films
Travel films are a competitive category of videos in the making. It used to be a rare sight back when
travelling and recording devices were expensive. But now that everyone has a camera on their
phones and travelling is much cheaper than usual, travel films are on the rise. Several versions of
travel films are available about almost any place on earth: local's version, an adventure–seeker's
version, tourists version, etc. Creativity is prime when travel films are made to ensure that they are
different and and interesting enough to catch the public eye. The essence of the place should be
recorded just enough to entice the viewer to catch the next flight to your travel destination. Here are
some tips that will help your films to soar high just like your travel journals.

Colour your world
Colours are more important than they are give credit for. A viewers eye quickly catches a bright
colour against monotonous background than a blended in color. Its almost human psychology, you
notice a man in a bright yellow shirt in a crowded street than a white or grey shirt that blends into
the crowd. Use this to your advantage and follow the contrasting colours for best effect. The good
thing about colours is that they deeply affect the mood of people. Yellow is believed to elevate
people and make them merrier whereas red is believed to be exciting. Talk about manipulating

The Impact Of Marketing On The Public Eye
With the amount of media that is present in every day life it is almost impossible to not be
influenced by external factors. Marketing occupations are not looked as fondly from consumers
because society believes that they will do whatever it takes to get a sale if it means lying to
consumers. For a company to market a product they have to find out who the potential customers
are. It is important to note that a company does not know the internal psychological factors that
come into play when making a purchase. The perception of the company to the public eye is
important especially if they make products that are part of a very popular fad. It is neat when you
purchase a product or support a company that has yet to be discovered by the mainstream. I enjoy
not being a trend follower when it comes to clothing. I am very keen on the technology industry
where being an early adopter is exciting supporting and having new technology. I was one of the
first persons I knew that got an apple watch when it was released in 2015. I decided to make the

addicted to the internet, They can't avulse smartphone from them. Also, when they are using their
smartphone before they sleep, they eyesight become worse and worse. Internet addiction is the main
reason to impair people's vision. First of all, when people use their phone before they sleep, they
turn off the light and they straightly face their smartphone and smartphone emit Blue light. Second,
Computer Vision Syndrome makes people's eyes worse, and they cannot put down their phone even
though people know that is dangerous.
Blue Light is emitted by all electronic devices and people are facing blue light while they are using
their electronic devices such as a computer, smartphone, etc. Blue light increases the risk of macular

then they will still try to go in, but it is like there is a forcefield that prevents them from coming in.
If you are in your car and they come, they will ask the same thing. Then as you drive away or close

Are Computers Cause Permanent Eye Damage?
Title: Uncovering the Severity of Computers to Our Vision.
ABSTRACT
The purpose of this research paper is to solve the question: Do computers cause permanent eye
damage? The selected hypothesis supported the idea that prolonged computer usage does not cause
permanent eye damage. The evidence provided shows that external factors such as lighting are
responsible for the vision impairment. In addition, prolonged computer usage only leads to a
temporary eye inflammation known as dry eyes and it is uncommon for dry eyes to cause permanent
vision loss. The report 's conclusion proves that the hypothesis is correct. The only effect from
computer usage towards our vision is a temporary syndrome called CVS (Computer Vision
Syndrome).
INTRODUCTION
Today, almost everyone uses computers on a daily basis. We stare at the screens for countless hours
and suddenly, our eyes experience a sore or fatigue, which tells us that it is time to stop. Although
this is normal, we are often unsure if the eyestrain has a negative effect towards our vision 's health
or is only a short–term prolonged effect of computer usage that will disappear after we rest. As this
topic is debatable, the highlight of this research paper is to discover whether computers cause
permanent eye damage or not. Despite many contradicting ideas, the majority of sources propose the
idea that computers only caused eyestrains instead of causing permanent eye damage. This will be
the report 's thesis and with the resources

Essay on Spiral of Silence
Public communication is very important when in a discussion with coworkers and such. The one
weakness that some people run into is silence. The spiral of silence theory by Elisabeth Noelle–
Neumann explains why certain people fall under the pressure and seclude to silence. Silence may
not always be a bad thing, but according to a study by Lucy J. MacGregor, the fact is that silence
during a speech or conversation is absolutely bad. With this, silence while talking to a large group
negatively affects the listeners in a way in which some words in the speech will not be remembered.
The point is that silence tends to destroy people's speeches. Words are forgotten in the speech; Loss

In every high school, there are the jocks, the band, the nerds, the people on drugs, the religious and
so on and so forth. Some of these groups were known as the popular group and some were known as
the creeps. These names that are given to the groups still happen in everyday life when you are older
and this also affects whether or not the person will speak up about a certain topic. When certain
groups have to keep secrets from other groups for safety reasons, this does not help the silence
situation at all. The fact that groups are keeping secrets from others means that they do not trust
anyone else which forces groups into silence and they cannot voice their opinion anymore. The
Spiral of Silence has a key voice in the workplace, which involves the use of presentations. One
thing affected by the listener not wanting to support the speaker is the fact of whether or not the
listener is actually paying attention (Denham–Vaughan 7). It has been said that listeners are more
than likely to lose their attention when there is a break in the speech by the speaker. When this
happens, the listener is more than likely going to jumble up sentences together and guess the wrong
word to finish the current statement that the speaker broke the pause with. This happens because the
train of thought is said to be interrupted and lose focus on the certain topic. Viewing the eyes and
seeing the horizontal and vertical movement

Rhino Robotics Corporation Pros And Cons
The walls of the Rhino Robotics Corporation had been secure for decades; erosion stripped the
metallic shine of the structure from when the building was made decades ago. Its titanium doors
began to bend and bow, however, the inside was in pristine condition. Six different sections had
been used to create and manufacture machines for the War, every worker and every android had
been influenced by one man: Mr. Jonathan Edwards. Years have passed ever since he inherited the
facility shortly after the passing of his late father. He swore to the man on his deathbed that "this
facility will lead this family to great wealth and power." From there on, Edwards began to risk more
and more, putting all of his finances into the failing corporation, until at last exponential growth was
acquired and began to skyrocket. Machine upgrades were long due during the renovation of the
factory itself, yet the popularity of the industry was spreading like a disease. As the company's name
and reputation infected every state in every country, more profits began to flood the main factory.
Scientists were being hired, and a series of experiments occurred within the closed chrome doors, a
secret to the wandering eyes of the public suffering in the War. In a large storage tube located in the
middle of an incubation chamber, a female was waking up. Her body was depleted of the electronics
that helped her survive, most of her skeleton was once broken into pieces. Her arms and torso were
mangled, and her legs were nearly gone. With the rise of stem cell research, the subject's injuries
have been progressively healing, leaving scars where chunks were missing. Her long, synthetic, blue
hair had to be cut in order to reach other sections without fatal risk. Floating in an embryonic–like
fluid inside of the tube, the woman had been incubating for months in an attempt to restore her life.
A large headphone jack sent information to a computer from the motherboard embedded in her
brain. This computer was supposed to be monitored by multiple scientists that had been assigned to
collect data. However, due to lack of activity, the team of scientists resorted to small desk games and
sleeping to relieve the boredom. Suddenly the woman opened her eyes,

Path To Specialisation Essay
Another path that lead to the development of specialisation is the cultural values surrounding the
body. In order for specialisation to become a mainstream form of medicine, patients needed to trust
a specialist more than a general practitioner, otherwise the movement would fail. The patient needs
to believe that the specialist will have more knowledge than a general practitioner. There was a
cultural value of the eye as being, arguably, the most important organ of the body. Some would
argue that dying is the only thing worse than losing your eye sight. This is because sight was such a
valuable thing to loose. In the early 19th century, there was an epidemic of a disease called Egyptian

The earliest specialists were often doctors who were not part of the elite group of physicians that, at
the time, held so much power within the profession. It is possible that these early specialists were
trying to gain access to this elite circle by becoming a specialist and being the expert in their chosen
area. This meant that often those who opposed specialisation, particularly in Britain, were this
medical elite. They opposed specialisation on the grounds that this was too narrowly focused and
there was also a general fear that specialist doctors would steal their patients who were also from the
upper classes. There was also associations with quackery and specialisation which did damage to the
specialists' reputation because quackery doctors were seen as uneducated and looked down upon by
the general practitioner. In Britain, the agreement was that they would tolerate the specialisation as
long as it was not visible to the general public. This was a result of the fear that patients, would no
longer seek the advice of their general practitioner and go straight to the specialist. This controversy
surrounding specialisation is also visible in the journals. Essays arguing for or against specialisation

excessively used their power to discriminate and brutally beat minorities. Police brutality is a very
serious problem that many Americans face today. Police should be held accountable for their

Police action in particularly to police abuse has come to the attention of the world wide view of the

black people are killed per capital by law enforcement is greater than anywhere else in the country."
This shows that African Americans are a huge target and are more common to encounter police

The Prevalence Of Refractive Errors In Children
Refractive errors are the result of misaligned optical components within the eye causing improper
focusing of light onto the retina. Although the optical components may vary by a minute amount, the
resulted blurred vision will not only affect the individual but also society in terms of the health
industry, education, research and socioeconomics. As a result of the impact of refractive errors, there
has been an increasing emphasis for research and action plans placed by eye health organisations
and the government on the development, prevention and control of refractive errors.
As a child's eye begins to develop and undergo emmetropization, there is a dynamic change to the

The most common cause of visual impairment is due to uncorrected refractive error. 2 Studies by
researchers by the Brien Holden Vision Institute approximates the cost to correct refractive errors to
be US$20 045 million.2 The correction of refractive errors make a worthwhile investment as
uncorrected refractive errors cause an estimated US$91,300 million – US$327,000 million loss in
productivity. 2 In order to minimise this loss of productivity, it is imperative for the government to
support visual health sectors. Therefore, due to the high economic costs of refractive error, family,
communities and the government must implement preventative or corrective measures.
There are high costs for poverty stricken nations tackling uncorrected refractive errors. The impact
of blindness of a country can amount to $42 billion in 2000. 2 This large sum will be very difficult
to set aside and invest in eye health in developing countries. When eye health is left untreated this
will often increase the cost of repairing eye health issues which furthers the cycle of decreasing eye
health care. Therefore, it is ideal for developing countries to highly invest in quality eye care as soon
as they can afford to train health

Detection Of Optic Disc Location
Automatic Detection of optic disc location in Color Fundus Retinal Images Using Circle Operator
Abstract–In this work a method is proposed to detect optic disk (OD) automatically in color retinal
fundus image without using background mask and blood vessels. Based on the properties of OD, an
idea of circle operator is presented here. This method has been applied on six public databases and
the promising results are obtained. The experimental results indicate that this proposed method of
automatic OD detection has good accuracy and is also time efficient.
In modern ophthalmology, detection of optic disk is a very important step for retinal image analysis.
It is one of the main feature of extracting the anatomical structure of the retina as illustrated in Fig.
1(a). Optic disk can be defined as the circular brighter region in retinal fundus image where blood
vessels converge and optic nerve is formed. OD detection is very indispensable for the computer
aided diagnosis of different eye diseases such as glaucoma detection and diabetic retinopathy [1].
Fig. 1(b) represents the fundus image with retinal lesion.
Many optic disc detection methods have been proposed ear–lier. In [4]–[6], image brightness based
methods are proposed. In these methods it is expected that the OD usually resembles according to
the brightest pixels within fundus images. In [7] and [8], image variation based methods are
proposed based on the statement that the OD has a high image variation due to the

Marvel Industries are known for their well made comics, but more importantly, their movies. Almost
every single trailer they release becomes viral, having millions of views worldwide. People say that
the trailer's does an exceptional job in hyping up the movie, gaining the public's curiosity through
the trailers they release. Still, we need to ask ourselves, "How?" How does this company do so well
in making their movies look so intriguing, yet not revealing the whole movie to the public? By
analyzing the trailer for the very anticipated fantasy/science fiction film Thor: Ragnorak, we can see
that this trailer is successful in rousing the viewers curiosity for this film by implementing the
various types of camera angle shots they use in the trailer, such as close–ups on certain characters,
which shows that they might be important in the movie, and the numerous amounts of color they use

Laser Eye Surgery
Laser eye surgery, or commonly known as LASIK, is a refractive surgical procedure conducted on
the eye using laser to correct vision problems such as astigmatism, presbyopia, hypermetropia and
myopia (Wachler, 2016). Although the procedure is an efficient method to correct eyesight, there are
many controversial topics surrounding the conduction of the surgery due to the many possible health
issues and risks afterwards. While several clinics offer the opportunity to provide LASIK surgery,
the consultation processes often omit the risks and side effects in detail which can encourage the
desire to undergo surgery (Squire, 2010). One of the most common side effects include vision
disturbances where the patient can experience halos and starbursts ... Show more content on

Although the procedure is an efficient method to correct eyesight, there are many controversial
topics surrounding the conduction of the surgery and debates on whether the procedure would need
to be limited in clinics and hospitals due to the health risks. After the surgery there is around 5%
chance of experiencing long term and permanent side effects and 0.37% of blindness (Wachler,
2016). In Britain, an estimate of 15,000 people undergo LASIK each year (Wachler, 2016), meaning
that around 750 people each year in Britain will experience the long term issues of LASIK and 55
will be blinded or severely injured. While several clinics offer the opportunity to provide LASIK
surgery, the consultation processes often omit the risks and side effects in detail which can
encourage the desire to undergo surgery (Squire, 2010). The main causes of the issue occur due to
poor judgement of the surgeon during the consultation process when diagnosing for suitability for
the surgery. The process for diagnosing the suitability for patients to undergo LASIK surgery
include many factors and requirements which will be identified by the surgeon during the
consultation process. The thickness of the cornea, diameter of pupils, refractive error, and health can
all effect the likelihood of risk during the process when the ultraviolet laser will instead cause
defects and degeneration. Therefore, because of the information gathered, laser eye surgery should
be considered to enforce a harsher guideline to the qualifications and requirements to undergo the
procedure to reduce the risk of side effects and permanent

Privacy And The Public Eye

  • 1. Privacy And The Public Eye Imagine a world where everyone's privacy was honored, there would be absolutely no screenshots sent out regarding another person's private information, no celebrity hacks or stealing their information for the latest magazine article, and no identity theft of any kind. Now think about how people could gain all of this freedom? We would have to stop letting ourselves fall victim to something much bigger than what we think and how badly things could go if some of our information ends up in the wrong hands. Nothing maintains its privacy once it is put on the internet, so users need to be mindful of what they reveal online; anyone can take the information and make it their own once it becomes open to the public eye. People are so quick to put personal information on the web that they do not stop to think about the potential consequences of their actions. Privacy concerns represent what individuals believe happens to their information once it becomes open to the public. People unknowingly open themselves up to being profiled online and get making online purchases, that they are getting their information and money stolen before they can even bat an eye. This does not happen in all cases, but it happens enough that we should be more careful of what we open ourselves up to. When studies have been conducted there are typically two tools used: concern for information privacy (CFIP) and Internet user's information privacy concerns (IUIPC). The first tool that was created was CFIP. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 3. Breastfeeding Of The Public Eye Ana Melchor Professor McKinley English I: Online 15 December 2014 Breastfeeding in the public eye A mother is one who has endless love for her children. She serves as a protector, a provider, and a friend to say the least. She is selfless. She makes sacrifices. All in the name of protecting and providing for what she knows is her most precious gift from God. Many would agree that being a mother is the hardest but most rewarding job a women will ever have. Hardest because this world has established many barriers for mothers; logistical, social, and political. One of the biggest barriers mothers face nowadays is breastfeeding and or pumping in public but most importantly breastfeeding in public. Aside from being physically exhausting and many would say an extremely hard task, nowadays mothers also have the pressures of returning to work earlier and that is causing a lot of stress for mothers. The problem is that in this day in age it's not allowed in many places, not even considered in some and still a huge disapproval in many work places. My arguments for this paper are that people aren't aware of their right to breastfeed in public and the current legislations that allow them to do so freely in their state; this can be the reason why it's just socially unexpected and or frowned upon. Second, people don't really understand the true benefits of breastfeeding vs bottle feeding because if they did many people would oppose to feeding a hungry baby whenever and ... • 5. Taking a Look at Body Art Research Assignment (Body Art) Body painting is a certain form of art that continued with humans through the ancient times to the modern day times, where artists use the human body as canvasses to show beauty like no other style of artwork can. African, European, Asia, and Australian tribes have shown records that body painting was used. The tribes were using pigments from plant leaves and fruits to decorate themselves because body art was an important part of their lives. Body art would represent qualities of the people, goals for life, gods, and many war themes. The first full body painting arose in 1933 of a naked model in Chicago. Body painting spread out during the 1960's when hippies began the movement in the United States. It is important to clarify that body painting is not just applied to nude bodies, but also can be applied to pieces of skin. Alexa Meade is a very skilful artist and has a certain style and view of body painting herself. Alexa was born and raised in 1986 in Washington, D.C. In 2009, Meade graduated from Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, NY majoring in political science. Meade received her bachelor's degree, but never attended art school. Meade was forced to teach herself how to paint, which started at the age of 15. When interviewed, Meade stated, "I didn't have to think of painting as this thing on canvas, because I didn't have any practice doing that. I just saw paint as something that can be used in space." When just beginning, Meade's studio ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The system consist of receptors, neural pathways, and parts of the brain. The most recognize sensory are vision, hearing, taste, and smell. The sensory system is a component that is used to process sensory information. It functions with the suspensory ligament to attach and support the lens. The aqueous humor is a watery material between cornea and lens. The vitreous humor is gelatinous material within the eye.Focusing by the lens is called accommodation, focusing in humans is done by changing the shape of lens with ciliary muscles. These muscles are part of the ciliary body. The ciliary muscles surround the lens they are attached to the lens by suspensory ligaments. When distant objects are viewed, the ciliary muscles relax, putting tension on the suspensory ligaments. The taut ligaments pull the lens, causing it to become thinner. Nearby objects cause the ciliary muscle to contract, reducing the tension on the suspensory ligaments and allowing the lens to assume a thicker shape. The cornea bends light but the lens finishes focusing. As a person ages, their ability to focus their lens decreases. Glasses can correct for this loss of focusing ability. • 9. Keyhole Surgery Research Paper During the 20th century, a new concept was introduced to the surgical world: Keyhole surgery. Surgeons began to look for procedures that did not require large incisions (which would result in large, visible scars.) and fewer incisions; hence the term "keyhole surgery". In 2008, a case of brain cancer was treated using a laser in keyhole surgery. Eyes were heavily relied on by surgeons for centuries; they were only able to diagnose a disease through surgical expertise and eye recognition. However, the development of diagnostic tools (imaging technology) has helped surgeons recognise deformities without having to cut incisions to a body. For example, a scintigraphy (fluorescent imaging) would be able to identify cancerous cells in a particular area. Cancerous ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This robot would be put inside a person's body and the surgery would be performed through a remote control, used by a surgeon down on Earth. Being able to develop such technology would allow surgeries to not only be able to be conducted in space, but also in remote areas on Earth. Robots also allowed extremely intricate and complex surgeries to take place; surgeries that man can't perform. After thousands of years, the advance in surgery has clearly proven to be remarkable. Countless lives have been saved from operations and the continuity of research would increase this value. • 11. George Seurat Essay Impressionism takes the moment at hand and depicts it with light and color. George Seurat was influenced by Impressionism using modern subjects and urban leisure scenes. He used color characterizing of Impressionism but also made arrangements based on color theory. Seurat wanted to capture all the colors that interacted to make their own appearance which differed in thought to Impressionism of putting colors next to each other to create colors that blended optically. Seurat helped move Impressionism into Post–Impressionism by developing a systematic structured way of painting. Seurat was influenced by Cheverul who figured color "impose its own complementary on its neighbor." Seurat worked with Signat to start on color experiments. He looked ... The way the sun is portrayed, it looks as if it's mid–afternoon. Seurat's pointillism shows the light coming from the left onto the people and objects. The trees show the special blending effects of the colors. To the left of the painting, the use of white creates a light and as the eye moves to the right, it blends into the color of the greens of the trees. Here, Seurat is placing white and green next to each other. The brushwork of the painting is dotlike with the dots varying in size and shape. These individuals dots blend together into one scene. The painting's perspective is to the left with the people all looking that way toward the river. The people in the front of the painting are closer to the eye. The woman in the front and that man walking with her are the biggest figures in the picture. These sizes help balance the artwork. Lines were mostly avoided with the use of shading for a softer effect. Seurat's painting is one of the most reproduced paintings. Initially, pointillism was not received well as this new painting style was like nothing else and the general public did not receive it well. A Sunday on La Grande Jatte was the first painting to be painted entirely in pointillism which changed the way art was viewed from Impressionism to Post ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The All Seeing Public Eye By Derek Wallace Analysis Summary response The all –Seeing Public Eye In an article entitled "The All– Seeing Public Eye" in Berkeley City College, Derek Wallace discusses cameras and recording skills beyond personal experiences. Within a physical classroom, relationship with students, learning outcome and decision–making process are major concerns that teachers need to constantly take into account in the classroom practice (Calderhead, 1981). The power of teacher in an education One of the teacher's powers involves a wide range of activities relating to classroom management and teaching effectiveness. Since the role teacher plays in the education is crucial owing to the direct interaction with the students and the teaching context on a regular basis, educational research have started to shift the focus on teachers' voices as an insiders' contribute to the effective implementation of educational policies and reforms. The power of teacher, as this research contends is more sophisticated than the 'social power of teacher' model drawn in Shah and Inamullah (2011). Based on the five bases of power (French and Raven, 1959), the authors advocate the social power of teacher is formed with a constituent of expert, referent, legitimate, reward and coercion power. However, teacher's power is exercised not only to deal with what happens inside in classroom, but also their autonomous actions when contradicting with the control status quo in their outside–classroom context. This source of power has been pinpointed and analysed mainly in educational reform or classroom management research, namely, 'defensive teaching' (McNeil, 2000), indicating the power of teacher to engage teaching strategies to strictly stick to the school knowledge rather providing students with the richness of the subject fields. ... • 17. Social Responsibility And Its Impact On The Public Eye Reputation Management WebFinance 2016 defines Repman as activities performed by individuals or organisations with the goal of creating a certain image or representation of themselves in the public eye. Eisenegger & Imhof 2008 endorse this definition as they explicitly state that Reputation can be used to measure a business' activity and they also state that a lot of Repman isn't actually seen but carries a lot of weight within that image perception. They state that there are 6 dimensions of reputation that have varying impact depending on the sector applied. The dimensions are Product & Services, Financial Performance, Vision & Leadership, Workplace Enviroment, Social Responsibility and finally Emotional Appeal. These 6 dimensions are favourable to CP as their variety allows for more competition and power distribution without the interference of higher powers (in theory) furthermore it allows for more individuals to gain power through the discussion and co–operation that comes from self– representation. The opposing view to this is suggested by Power 2004. He proposes that politicians should take a more active role, especially when it concerns the issue of public representation and reputation perception. He goes so far as to remark on the actions of the British government as "Organised Paranoia" in this regard. This view opposes one of the core values of CP in that it touts that the government should be a regulatory body and interfere as little as possible. This could ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 19. School Bus Safety Campaign : An Exciting Time For Many... Going to school is an exciting time for many young students. The first time getting on a school bus for your first day of school can be scary yet exciting. Many students are anxious about how their first day of school is going to go and worried about getting lost. What most kids don't think about are the dangers of distracted or unlawful drivers as they get on or off of a bus. The illustrator of the visual I chose uses context, purpose, color, movement, and text to trigger an emotional appeal from the viewers. The use of those aspects helps persuade drivers to obey traffic laws. The Government of Alberta's Office of Public Safety recognized this visual as its campaign title in 2011. It was designed by Calder Bateman Communications and displayed in a public newsletter for its school bus safety campaign. Calder Bateman Communications received three distinct awards listed as Poster Single, Public Service Print, and Art Direction. CBC used Figure 1 for a public safety campaign sponsored by the Office of Traffic Safety in Alberta Canada. It was used among other images to display the danger drivers put themselves and others in every day when they start up a vehicle. The image was used for bus safety to make people aware of the dangers drivers put children in if they don't stop for red flashing lights. This image was among others that promoted public safety and obedience to traffic laws in the topic of commercial drivers, bicyclists, distracted driving, and recreational vehicles. ... Participants, one at a time, stand in front of the group and tell us about themselves, speaking for no more that a minute or so. We tell them that we'll be observing objectively what they do with their eyes, what they do with their hands, and how they stand when they speak. We're also listening to the speed at which words come out of their mouth, and we're listening to their volume and inflection. By volume we mean the amount of air passing through the larynx, and inflection being changes in pitch and tone. Just about everybody has heard this bit of advice sometime in their public speaking education. And it's true; when you get up and speak in front of the group, you want to look to everyone in the audience. (In the case of very large groups, you at least want everyone in the audience to believe that throughout the presentation you were spending considerable time looking at just them. Happily, when you're presenting correctly, this happens all by itself.) The problem is, although we were told what to do, we were never really told us how to do it. As result, whenever we see people speak for the first time in class, we observe the phenomenon that we call "Aerosol Eyes". The speaker gets up in front of the room and immediately begins to spray the audience with his vision. Back and forth, back and forth, rarely holding eye–contact for more than a second at a time. And that is the average – one second. Often somewhere between a half a second and a second. You might have noticed in your experience that some people actually don't hold eye–contact at all. Slowly, cautiously, I panned the barrel of my weapon back and forth– over filing cabinets standing alone or fallen on the floor, across small tables stationed near the doors leading into the classrooms lining the hall... nothing. It was empty. But it didn't feel that way. My wrists itched. I didn't know what had me on edge, but not long after we'd hit a bust on the first few room's Blasto and I had gone through something had just felt... off. I'd been somewhat expecting to encounter more of the big mutants, or maybe other people scavenging for something, but– I snapped my rifle up and to the end of the hall as something interrupted the light coming in through a non–boarded up window... I blinked. It was nothing, and that was the problem. "My offer still stands you know." Blasto singsonged, floor creaking as he stepped up behind me and I stepped aside to let him walk past with the looming Orkan, his hard case swinging as he loped along. I just rolled my eyes and followed as he made for the first door in the hall. "For the last time, I'm not smoking with you." "You're too high strung, though. You're getting paranoid. Many people that have jobs that require them to sit in front of computers for extended intervals of time do not think about their back and eye health. Technology has also infiltrated itself into classrooms, which is a large risk because many students do not consider their back and eye health. Eye health is usually not taken into account, but it should also be a very large factor in how much time we spend in front of technology. Many people think that back pain is a normal occurrence; however special care should be take when using technology, and is often ignored, however it can be a sign that there are more severe, underlying problems. On one hand, I understand that this new generation is being raised amid a myriad of technological advances, and avoiding them would be very difficult. But on the other hand, I still insist that we consider how much time we spend in front of these devices. In other words, limiting the time that we spend in front of computer screens can improve our eye and spine health. My point is not that computers are the sole source of spine and eye detriment, but that computers and tablets should be enjoyed with caution. Many people assume that the worst that can happen from overuse of technology is a little headache and a small amount of back pain. This is simply not true. My point is that our bodies have been slowly changing to fit our computer usage, and we are doing this unsuccessfully. For the purpose of this essay I have chosen to focus on the more serious forms of sex offending which in my opinion, are the cause of much of the current attention. In order to understand why sexual offenders attract so much attention I will begin by considering today's society and the emergence of post–modernist values and the preoccupation with risk. It was during the period of "modernity" which stems back to the 18th century, that notions of tradition, feudalism and superstition began to be replaced by reasoning, science and exploration. There was a move away from harsh penal conditions and a move towards reforming individuals. It was during this period of modernity that there existed societal consensus and a general air of optimism which generated high levels of trust and respect for people in authority. During the mid– 1980s post–modernism emerged as an area of academic study, and it is this which currently describes today's developed world. Attempts have been made to chart the shift from modernism to post–modernism, however this is largely attributed to the work of Ulrich Beck and what he describes as the emergence of a 'risk society' (Beck 1986). Beck argued that the public are constantly being "confronted with socially created risks which endanger survival" (Beck 1986, p32). He saw one of these being globalisation, whereby communication is now effortless, thus increasing the risk of messages being distorted and information saturated which hence has the potential to perturb (Beck, 1986). Another was the creation of moral panics, first introduced by Stanley Cohen in his book "Folk Devils and Moral Panics" in 1972. He identified a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The cones are located in the center of the eye that provides clear, sharp central vision in bright light conditions. Their entire eye will be black, there will be no white only BLACK. Black Eyed Beings will come up to your door or car window. If they come to your door, then open it and say no over and over because if you show that then they will still try to go in, but it is like there is a forcefield that prevents them from coming in. • 54. Are Computers Cause Permanent Eye Damage? Title: Uncovering the Severity of Computers to Our Vision. ABSTRACT The purpose of this research paper is to solve the question: Do computers cause permanent eye damage? The selected hypothesis supported the idea that prolonged computer usage does not cause permanent eye damage. The evidence provided shows that external factors such as lighting are responsible for the vision impairment. In addition, prolonged computer usage only leads to a temporary eye inflammation known as dry eyes and it is uncommon for dry eyes to cause permanent vision loss. The report 's conclusion proves that the hypothesis is correct. The only effect from computer usage towards our vision is a temporary syndrome called CVS (Computer Vision Syndrome). INTRODUCTION Today, almost everyone uses computers on a daily basis. We stare at the screens for countless hours and suddenly, our eyes experience a sore or fatigue, which tells us that it is time to stop. Although this is normal, we are often unsure if the eyestrain has a negative effect towards our vision 's health or is only a short–term prolonged effect of computer usage that will disappear after we rest. As this topic is debatable, the highlight of this research paper is to discover whether computers cause permanent eye damage or not. Despite many contradicting ideas, the majority of sources propose the idea that computers only caused eyestrains instead of causing permanent eye damage. This will be the report 's thesis and with the resources ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 56. Essay on Spiral of Silence Public communication is very important when in a discussion with coworkers and such. The one weakness that some people run into is silence. The spiral of silence theory by Elisabeth Noelle– Neumann explains why certain people fall under the pressure and seclude to silence. Silence may not always be a bad thing, but according to a study by Lucy J. MacGregor, the fact is that silence during a speech or conversation is absolutely bad. With this, silence while talking to a large group negatively affects the listeners in a way in which some words in the speech will not be remembered. The point is that silence tends to destroy people's speeches. Words are forgotten in the speech; Loss of the attention by the listeners happens and the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In every high school, there are the jocks, the band, the nerds, the people on drugs, the religious and so on and so forth. Some of these groups were known as the popular group and some were known as the creeps. These names that are given to the groups still happen in everyday life when you are older and this also affects whether or not the person will speak up about a certain topic. When certain groups have to keep secrets from other groups for safety reasons, this does not help the silence situation at all. The fact that groups are keeping secrets from others means that they do not trust anyone else which forces groups into silence and they cannot voice their opinion anymore. The Spiral of Silence has a key voice in the workplace, which involves the use of presentations. One thing affected by the listener not wanting to support the speaker is the fact of whether or not the listener is actually paying attention (Denham–Vaughan 7). It has been said that listeners are more than likely to lose their attention when there is a break in the speech by the speaker. When this happens, the listener is more than likely going to jumble up sentences together and guess the wrong word to finish the current statement that the speaker broke the pause with. This happens because the train of thought is said to be interrupted and lose focus on the certain topic. Viewing the eyes and seeing the horizontal and vertical movement ... Rhino Robotics Corporation Pros And Cons The walls of the Rhino Robotics Corporation had been secure for decades; erosion stripped the metallic shine of the structure from when the building was made decades ago. Its titanium doors began to bend and bow, however, the inside was in pristine condition. Six different sections had been used to create and manufacture machines for the War, every worker and every android had been influenced by one man: Mr. Jonathan Edwards. Years have passed ever since he inherited the facility shortly after the passing of his late father. He swore to the man on his deathbed that "this facility will lead this family to great wealth and power." From there on, Edwards began to risk more and more, putting all of his finances into the failing corporation, until at last exponential growth was acquired and began to skyrocket. Machine upgrades were long due during the renovation of the factory itself, yet the popularity of the industry was spreading like a disease. As the company's name and reputation infected every state in every country, more profits began to flood the main factory. Scientists were being hired, and a series of experiments occurred within the closed chrome doors, a secret to the wandering eyes of the public suffering in the War. In a large storage tube located in the middle of an incubation chamber, a female was waking up. Her body was depleted of the electronics that helped her survive, most of her skeleton was once broken into pieces. Her arms and torso were mangled, and her legs were nearly gone. With the rise of stem cell research, the subject's injuries have been progressively healing, leaving scars where chunks were missing. Her long, synthetic, blue hair had to be cut in order to reach other sections without fatal risk. Floating in an embryonic–like fluid inside of the tube, the woman had been incubating for months in an attempt to restore her life. A large headphone jack sent information to a computer from the motherboard embedded in her brain. This computer was supposed to be monitored by multiple scientists that had been assigned to collect data. However, due to lack of activity, the team of scientists resorted to small desk games and sleeping to relieve the boredom. Suddenly the woman opened her eyes, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

If there was one thing Ian really liked about himself, it would be his eyes. He'd always been complimented on them, and one of the first things Anthony said to him was that he had pretty eyes. In order for specialisation to become a mainstream form of medicine, patients needed to trust a specialist more than a general practitioner, otherwise the movement would fail. The patient needs to believe that the specialist will have more knowledge than a general practitioner. There was a cultural value of the eye as being, arguably, the most important organ of the body. Some would argue that dying is the only thing worse than losing your eye sight. This is because sight was such a valuable thing to loose. The earliest specialists were often doctors who were not part of the elite group of physicians that, at the time, held so much power within the profession. It is possible that these early specialists were trying to gain access to this elite circle by becoming a specialist and being the expert in their chosen area. This meant that often those who opposed specialisation, particularly in Britain, were this medical elite. They opposed specialisation on the grounds that this was too narrowly focused and there was also a general fear that specialist doctors would steal their patients who were also from the upper classes. There was also associations with quackery and specialisation which did damage to the specialists' reputation because quackery doctors were seen as uneducated and looked down upon by the general practitioner. In Britain, the agreement was that they would tolerate the specialisation as long as it was not visible to the general public. This was a result of the fear that patients, would no longer seek the advice of their general practitioner and go straight to the specialist. This controversy surrounding specialisation is also visible in the journals. Essays arguing for or against specialisation often featured in these journals. Although the optical components may vary by a minute amount, the resulted blurred vision will not only affect the individual but also society in terms of the health industry, education, research and socioeconomics. As a result of the impact of refractive errors, there has been an increasing emphasis for research and action plans placed by eye health organisations and the government on the development, prevention and control of refractive errors. As a child's eye begins to develop and undergo emmetropization, there is a dynamic change to the optical components such as the crystalline lens, cornea and axial length. ... The most common cause of visual impairment is due to uncorrected refractive error. 2 Studies by researchers by the Brien Holden Vision Institute approximates the cost to correct refractive errors to be US$20 045 million.2 The correction of refractive errors make a worthwhile investment as uncorrected refractive errors cause an estimated US$91,300 million – US$327,000 million loss in productivity. 2 In order to minimise this loss of productivity, it is imperative for the government to support visual health sectors. Therefore, due to the high economic costs of refractive error, family, communities and the government must implement preventative or corrective measures. There are high costs for poverty stricken nations tackling uncorrected refractive errors. The impact of blindness of a country can amount to $42 billion in 2000. 2 This large sum will be very difficult to set aside and invest in eye health in developing countries. When eye health is left untreated this will often increase the cost of repairing eye health issues which furthers the cycle of decreasing eye health care. Detection Of Optic Disc Location Automatic Detection of optic disc location in Color Fundus Retinal Images Using Circle Operator Abstract–In this work a method is proposed to detect optic disk (OD) automatically in color retinal fundus image without using background mask and blood vessels. Based on the properties of OD, an idea of circle operator is presented here. This method has been applied on six public databases and the promising results are obtained. The experimental results indicate that this proposed method of automatic OD detection has good accuracy and is also time efficient. In modern ophthalmology, detection of optic disk is a very important step for retinal image analysis. It is one of the main feature of extracting the anatomical structure of the retina as illustrated in Fig. 1(a). Optic disk can be defined as the circular brighter region in retinal fundus image where blood vessels converge and optic nerve is formed. OD detection is very indispensable for the computer aided diagnosis of different eye diseases such as glaucoma detection and diabetic retinopathy [1]. Fig. 1(b) represents the fundus image with retinal lesion. Many optic disc detection methods have been proposed ear–lier. In [4]–[6], image brightness based methods are proposed. In these methods it is expected that the OD usually resembles according to the brightest pixels within fundus images. After the surgery there is around 5% chance of experiencing long term and permanent side effects and 0.37% of blindness (Wachler, 2016). In Britain, an estimate of 15,000 people undergo LASIK each year (Wachler, 2016), meaning that around 750 people each year in Britain will experience the long term issues of LASIK and 55 will be blinded or severely injured. While several clinics offer the opportunity to provide LASIK surgery, the consultation processes often omit the risks and side effects in detail which can encourage the desire to undergo surgery (Squire, 2010). The main causes of the issue occur due to poor judgement of the surgeon during the consultation process when diagnosing for suitability for the surgery. The process for diagnosing the suitability for patients to undergo LASIK surgery include many factors and requirements which will be identified by the surgeon during the consultation process. The thickness of the cornea, diameter of pupils, refractive error, and health can all effect the likelihood of risk during the process when the ultraviolet laser will instead cause defects and degeneration.
