Unlike basking sharks, which simply filter vast amounts of water as they swim, whale sharks actively suck their prey before filtering efficiently and are sometimes seen in groups, feeding on high concentrations of food. Regularly appear in the same places at specific times of the year, probably to capitalize on plankton blooms and events such as coral spawning.

5. HABITAT
The leafy sea dragon is only found in Southern Australian waters
from Wilson's promontory inVictoria at the eastern end of its
range westward to juries bay, 220km
(140mi) North of Perth in Western Australia. It was once thought
that individuals had very restricted ranges;
However, further research has discovered that sea dragon will
actually travel several hundred meters habituals locations
returning to the same spot using a strong sense of direction.They
are mostly found over sand patches in water up to 50 meters (164
feet) deep, around kelp-covered rocks and clumps of sea grass.
They are commonly sighted by scuba divers near South Australia.
6. DIET
All family syngnathiformes members are tube-snouted fishes
that have a uniquely structured tubular jaw that opens rapidly to
suck in prey, witch consists of shrimp -like my sides and other
small crustation plankton organisoms.The leafy sea dragon
refuses to eat creatures with teeth they can not eat them
anyways, there jaws are as fragile as paper if they ate the
creatures teeth they would make this howling noise and twirl
around until it stops but the thing is that it won't stop that's
why they haft to be careful.
7. REPRODUCTION
Like their sea horse relatives after receiving eggs from a female
it's the male that breeds them in a special pouch-like patch of
skin on his abdomen giving birth to baby's in about two months.
mature sea dragon reproduce one or two times a year and
single female may produce up to 300 eggs per clutch.
8. MOVEMENT
The leafy sea dragon uses it's fins along the side of its head to
allow it to steer and turn. However it's outer skin is to fairly
rigid, limiting mobility. Individual leafy sea dragons have been
observed remaining in one locating in one location for a period
of time (up to 68 hours).
9. COLOURS
The leafy sea dragon colours range from brown to yellow with
olive tinted appendages.Which allows leafy story camouflage in
coral,sea weed and brush type of things in the ocean.
10. LIFE CYCLE
The leafy sea dragon can live up to 10 years in the wild as long
as it's in the Australia's Pacific Ocean other wise the tide will get
to rough and they will die of exhaustion
