-curriculum refers to the lessons and
academic content taught in a school
or in a specific subject or course
-it specifies the subjects to be taught
and how they will be taught.

taught, and how it will be taught”

-is a process of utilizing sets of
concepts to achieve both
quantity and quality education
through a guided learning
experience

Educational Plan (Content and
Instruction)
-these cover the topics to be taught
and how they will be taught and how
the instruction will be delivered
-the content includes information and
activities to be covered
-instruction refers to the teaching
strategies to use

Extraneous Influences
-These are outside factors that
influence or affect the curriculum
development

Evaluation and Revision
-these is the process of monitoring and
evaluating the curriculum for
continuous program improvement. The
results of the evaluation of the original
curriculum are used as basis for the
curriculum’s continuous
improvement.

-What competencies, attitudes and
value dispositions do the students
need to
develop?
-What would be appropriate for the
students’ particular developmental

-these refers to what students learn to
help them function better in society it is
also about the acceptable social
values they have learn in the topics
chosen
-It is also about their long term
contribution to the society they live in

-it is knowing if there are adequate
numbers of trained teachers to teach
the subjects to the students, laboratory
equipment and available instructional
materials on the topics included

Educational Philosophy
-these are set of principles as guide
setting subjects to be included in the
curriculum and how these subjects will
be taught
-it is also referred to the theory
that may be used to guide the
selection of topics and activities.
1.BASIC TASK IN CURRICULUM
LEADERSHIP
-Curriculum leadership involves tasks that
guarantee quality education. The tasks and
functions includes:
• ensuring that curriculum is relevant to the
needs of learners
• Integrating and aligning the curriculum
• Implementing the curriculum efficiently and
effectively
• Regularly evaluating, enriching, and
updating
the curriculum
3. LAISSEZ-FAIRE APPROACH
- This gives teachers absolute power
to determine what they see is best
to implement in the classroom, it
also allows teachers to teach
lessons they believe are appropriate
for there classes and in whatever
way they want to teach such
lessons.
- Is a learner-centered curricula
3. AUTHORITARIAN APPROACH
-An authoritarian approach is
described as a teacher having total
control over the classroom meaning
students are not given the flexibility to
be actively involved and responsive.
-a teacher-centered classroom
4.ENRICHMENT CURRICULUM
-encourage students to learn through
different methods as they enjoy
engaging projects and activities
beyond the pages of the book
- Enrichment programs can include
topics which develops the learners
curiosity to learn something new and
fun
5.WHY IS THERE A NEED FOR SCHOOLS
TO HAVE DIFFERENT CURRICULA?
-With differentiation in the classroom,
teachers can manage what students
learn, how students learn. And how
are students assessed. With its
flexibility, differentiated instruction
allows teachers to maximize individual
growth in the course of content
6. SHOULD A CURRICULUM SHOULD BE
SOLELY DEVELOPED BY THE SCHOOL
HEAD?
-NO/It should a collaborative efforts
between school administrators,
teachers and stakeholders
7. IS THERE A CURRICULUM LEADERSHIP
DEVELOPMENT
-there is no curriculum leadership from
the school head if he is just approving
a curriculum developed solely by the
teacher.
Development of a curriculum should
be a collaborative work between
theteacher and the school head
8. WHY IS IMPLEMENTATION IMPORTANT
IN THE CYCLE OF PLANNING AND
TEACHING
-implementation is important to apply
the process that turns strategies and
plans into actions in order to
accomplish strategic objectives and
goals
