AS EPORTFOLIO
ANALYSIS OF PERFORMANCE
 The aim of this task is for the candidate to identify their strengths and
weaknesses through the core skills used specifically in their activity and
then analyse and develop these through the other tasks.

 Core skills should be appropriate to the candidate and his/her position.

 Core skills should be incorporated into the training plan and an analysis of
  development given

 A minimum of 3 notational exercises should be undertaken to identify
whether they are improving in the performance of the core skills

 A critical analysis of the overall process should be made and culminate in
an identification of their strengths and weaknesses.

 This should provide information for the Development Pan
PERFORMANCE ANALYSIS –
CORE SKILLS
Ensure:
 4 skills chosen are relevant to the candidates development
e.g. GD in Netball would not choose Shooting
 Skill is broken down into phases i.e. preparation,
   execution, follow through
 The 4 areas are covered e.g. Technical, Tactical
Physiological, Mechanical in the analysis in each of the
   skills
 Each area should be applied to each of the 4 skills
 As much evidence as possible is included to support
comments e.g. Annotated diagrams photos/video clips
 Compare own performance to that of an elite performer
PERFORMANCE ANALYSIS -
TACTICAL
Ensure candidates:
 explore a wide range of tactics and strategies in their
activity. Should contain depth and technical accuracy.
  Refer to journals, elite performance
 analyse their own contribution to the tactical
  play/performance
 compare this with next level above or an elite team
 suggest alternative tactics
 Include court/pitch diagram, individual position tactics
differences in singles/doubles, set plays, formation
  variations
 Provide an evaluation where possible
PERFORMANCE ANALYSIS –
NOTATION
Ensure
 A minimum of 3 are included
 Use the same format each time
 Analyse the performance of the 4 core skills
 Compare own performance with an elite performer
 Analyse statistics with depth
 Final summative review with a proposed action plan
 based on findings from notations
PERFORMANCE ANALYSIS -
TRAINING
Ensure Candidates:
• Detail the training requirements for their activity
• Be analytical (rather than descriptive) in evaluation of each session
• Cover 4 areas technical, physiological and tactical aspects
• Include fitness, skill and tactical training
• Include test results and rating on norm tables
 Submit detailed examples of their OWN TRAINING with evaluation
  of sessions
• Give an example of an elite performers training – and how it
  compares
• Give an example of the training required for the next level up.
What does the candidate need to do to achieve this?
• PERF.ANALYSIS
PERFOMANCE ANALYSIS -
STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES
Ensure candidates
 Use the information they have already gathered
 Use the questions on physiological, technical,
tactical and psychological demands for analysis
 Compare to perfect model
 Review their findings of previous tasks
 Support strengths and weaknesses with
  quantifiable evidence Include DVD evidence
 Suggest what plan of action now needs to be
made i.e. Unit 4 – the Development Plan
