2. Colour Grading
• I have chosen to experiment with colour grading as its
something that is essential to my final production as
the camera I am shooting on needs the footage
grading to make it look good, and as I am very
unfamiliar with this process experimenting with it
now will save me a lot of time in the final process of
editing my project.
3.
4. • This is the footage before I
started colour grading, as you
can see its very bright and
unattractive to look at,
especially in the sky areas.
5. • Here I changed the lift by –0.05
which gave the image a much
darker feel, but the sky was still
very bright and in your face.
6. • Here I changed the gamma by –
0.10, which made the sky a lot
darker and brought out the
clouds, which were previously
drowned out by the lightness of
the sky.
7. • Here I adjusted the gain, which
didn’t do much to the overall
video clip but it made it very
subtly darker and less harsh.
8. • I made minor adjustments to
the hues in the image to make it
look slightly more natural, I am
happy with how this
experiment has turned out and
it has deffinatley helped me to
progress in my final project.
