Sunita Williams is an American astronaut and US Navy officer of Indian and Slovenian descent. She was born in 1965 in Ohio and has spent a total of 321 days in space across seven spaceflights, holding records for the most spacewalks and spacewalk time completed by a woman. Williams joined NASA in 1998 and served as a crew member on expeditions to the International Space Station.
