As the US becomes more multiracial, questions arise around tolerance and acceptance. While discrimination victories have been made, segregation still exists in many communities. The 2000 census was the first to allow choosing more than one race, with 2.4% of Americans identifying as multiracial. Many famous individuals have mixed racial heritages, showing diversity is increasing. By 2050, nearly 75 million Americans are projected to identify with more than one race.
